Andrea U-Shi Chang, RKC Team Leader, has been training with kettlebells since 2005 and still loves every minute!

After the birth of her son, Andrea realized something different needed to happen. As a successful highschool and college level athlete, she had stayed active (she thought), playing competitive tennis, and working out regularly at the gym - but she weighed 195lbs. and had 34% body fat. Technically obese, she realized that something HAD to change.

After being introduced to kettlebells by a childhood friend, she was amazed. Not only were the kettlebell exercises fun, the weight started to fall off. In only 4 months, Andrea lost 45lbs! Better yet, she went from 34% body fat to 17% body fat. Kettlebells had literally changed her life.

Completely inspired and wanting to learn more led her to recieve her Russian Kettlebell Certification directly from Pavel in 2006, and she has been sharing her ever increasing knowledge base with others ever since. Continuing to broaden her education by attending workshops and receiving certifications specializing in functional movement and corrective strategies, Z-Health, Ck-FMS, advanced kettlebell forms, and other physicals modalities has broadened her understanding of the body and helped make teaching her passion. The ability to help people reach their goals, whether it is to run faster, jump higher, get stronger, or to lose weight, rehab injuries, and alleviate pain, has allowed Andrea to share what she considers the gift - the gift of helping people help themselves.

Being stronger and in better shape then ever (she is now 145lbs, 17% body fat, and comfortably stable at that weight for over 5 years now and continuing to get stronger) has allowed Andrea to be a great model and motivator for others. Her obvious enjoyment and commitment to teaching reveals itself by the sharing of her body of knowledge, teaching the finer points of kettlebell form, functional movements and corrective exercises, while kicking your butt (in a good way!), which is why she is such an effective and fun instructor.

Andrea started her kettlebell/personal training and movement coaching business in 2006, called Kettlebility, opened the FIRST kettlebell gym in the Pacific Northwest, the Kettlebility Studio in 2010, and teaches ongoing kettlebell and movement classes, as well as small group sessions and private instruction for high level athletes as well as people of all ages and abilities. She is also the editor for the Power by Pavel Newsletter and is the technical advisor for the upcoming kettlebell "how to" book from Wiley Publishers.

10/10 TOP NOTCH!

By david quasha / seattle, WA. USA

Andrea is a dedicated, enthusiastic trainer who exudes inspiring confidence and power. it is obvious right from the beginning that she takes kettlebell training seriously, and approaches the technique from a "form first" perspective. Andrea took the time not just to train me for the specific basic exercises, but to instruct with an emphasis on first "feeling" the right mechanics...to understand just what exact muscles are primarily used and to focus on that during the movements. she has unique ways to get her clients in tune with their bodies, particularly the specific ares of the core that need to be fully engaged in the movements. she keeps it moving, keeps it fun, and gets you working hard. she spends alot of time on the mobility warm-up as well, essential to joint health, and injury prevention. her email communication is great too, answering questions about form, and providing addtional info...I HIGHLY RECOMMEND ANDREA....in a word....awesome. i will train with her again.

10/10 WORTH FOUR HOUR DRIVE

By Raoulene Polillo / Spokane, WA USA

I read about Andrea's success with kettlebells in a magazine article and knew I wanted to train with her. She is an inspiring and patient instructor with a keen eye for form and effective cues for correction. I appreciate the progression tailored to my level of fitness and the attention to detail that I wasn't getting from DVD. Training with Andrea is worth the four hour drive and I am confident that I will be well prepared for the RKC certification.

10/10 The Strength to Make My Next 20 Years My Best

By Nancy / Seattle, WA, USA

48 and single again after ending a 13 year relationship. It was time to regain the passion and strength to take charge of my life. Enter Andrea - a great role model, coach and mentor. She introduces me to this exciting form of conditioning - kettlebells. Something I can do at home in 30 minutes a day that makes me feel alive and pumped! Then, we work together on a plan to meet my short term goal: loose 10 pounds in 8 weeks before my 30th high school reunion! We found the food choices and exercises that worked and here I am with one week to spare - 10 pounds lighter and showing some great muscle tone. I have a waist again! And a strong sense of confidence to get the next 20 years rolling. With this short term goal met - I know we'll keep working together and who knows? Maybe another 10 pounds before the end of 2007...Stay tuned!

10/10 AMAZING WORKOUT FOR THE BODY AND MIND

By M. Luke-White / Seattle, WA USA

Andrea is a source of tremendous inspiration for anyone battling weight issues! Andrea's personal weight loss story as a result of kettlebell training challenged me to rethink my own weight loss strategy. After several years of attaining only mediocre results from traditional free weight strength training and cardio equipment at the gym, I contacted Andrea last Spring to schedule my first kettlebell training sessions. Andrea's patience, encouragement, and energy while instructing inspired me to push myself harder than I ever had with any other workout! Most of all...I was having fun!

As I continue to work with Andrea and kettlebells, I am experiencing gradual and sustained weigh loss. I walk away from her workouts feeling energized, focused, and strong. I highly recommend Andrea and Kettlebility to anyone seeking an engaging form of core body exercise for health, personal well-being,and... FUN!

10/10 A Real Gem of an Instructor

By Shannon McConnell / Burien, USA

Andrea is a wonderful instructor, motivating, energetic, positive and a real stickler about form and technique. Her workouts flow, building on one movement to the next for maximum benefit. I always feel great after a class. My history includes several car accidents and knee surgery over the last few years. Her insightful instruction has helped me work through those injuries, keep moving, and keep the aches and pains in check. She has also been instrumental in helping me develop as an instructor, by offering great workshops that are so chock full of information. I end up with so many new tools, I think I’m going to have to get a bigger toolbox.

10/10 Life Changing

By Kelli Keyes / Belle Fourche, USA

I could not have asked for a better team leader at the San Diego RKC! I learned so much from Andrea. Besides being an excellent instructor (she did an amazing job of explaining how and why to do the movements correctly), it was evident that Andrea truly cares about helping others succeed. Even though I was only with Andrea for three days, I feel like we go way back and I know that I will continue to learn from her. Thank you Andrea!!!

10/10 The Best of the Best

By Val Hedlund / Denver, USA

I met Andrea at the 2011 RKC in San Diego when all of the assistants were setting up on Thursday. The moment I met her, I knew I liked her as a person. Just full of life and happy to be there. How could you not love that?
The weekend started for the RKCs on Friday morning. I was a "floating assistant", helping out where ever it was needed and so I was able to see the teaching style of all of the Team Leaders. Every RKC Team Leader is knowledgable and someone to look up to and Andrea stood out in that crowd. Not only does she know her stuff, she is a true leader, a fantastic instructor, and it was obvious that she cared about each and every member of her team. She is the whole package and I hope her team knew how fortunate they were to have her as a Team Leader for the weekend.

10/10 crème de la crème

By William Stokes / Eugene, OR, United States

When it comes to a kettlebell instructor Andrea is the crème de la crème. Her extensive knowledge in movement, Kettlebells, and etc., makes her one of the top instructors in the country. When I first came to Andrea in 2010, I had horrible body mechanics and movement patterns. It did not take her long to fix me up and I now stand a lot taller thanks to her. She also really understands the human body because I had I knee issue which she was able to fix within weeks after meeting with her. She is not just a phenomenal instructor but she is also a motivator, coach, and very knowledgeable with nutrition. Andrea helped me on my journey for both the HKC and RKC, which I passed both and they were only a dream for me. Her gym is very inviting, clean, and offers the best training and services. I would recommend Andrea to any body that is seeking state of the art kettlebell training or just an overall life style change. Andrea thank you so much, you have made me a better individual.

10/10 Incredible Instruction!

By Jackie Luciano / Tucson, AZ, USA

I had the privilege of working with Andrea recently at an HKC event. She was an amazing instructor and a huge reason I passed! Her level of knowledge is unsurpassable and she possesses an amazing ability to effectively elucidate and demonstrate the importance of meticulous form as an instructor. The qualities I valued most of her instruction were her consistency, as well as her intolerance for improper technique. Since I’m pursuing an RKC certification myself, these things are extremely important to me. It takes a lot of energy to constantly correct form in a 20 person class for almost 12 hours straight! She didn’t break or give up once. Andrea has an amazing story and instructs from a place of experience making her approachable as well as making me feel comfortable being coached. HIGHLY recommend her!

10/10 CHALLENGING AND MOTIVATING!

By Angie T. / Seattle, WA

Having never worked with kettlebells before, I was a little intimidated to start taking a class. I had heard about Andrea and her story, which inspired me to give it a try. Andrea made me feel right at home and instantly I knew with a little hard work I could do it. She brings knowledge and enthusiasm which made me feel comfortable that I was learning the proper techniques while at the same time being pushed to excel to my highest ability. Within such a short period of time I feel strong, have lost weight and am hooked! I am the type of person who likes a lot of variety in my workouts and kettlebells offer that. With Andrea at the helm, I am encouraged to keep learning more and more and it's so great to see those efforts instantly paying off!!
