I started "working-out" in 2005. During this time working-out to me was going to the gym and doing a few sets. My night consisted mainly of walking around and chit-chatting with other gym goers. I was a Gym Rat. The results I saw were mediocre, if anything. My goal, of course, for a young lad was to gain size, but I also had another inspiration. In 2oo6, I started training to become a professional wrestler. I trained with Portland legend Playboy Buddy Rose and Colonel De Beers. However due to my age, lack of size, and my lack of appreciation for the wrestling "biz," in 2oo8 I called it quits.

After my stint in pro-wrestling, I went through a phase of trying to figure out what I wanted to do with my life. I hated the idea of starting from scratch, so I looked for something I already had my foot in. My experience at this point was wrestling, grocery store clerk, and working out. Since wrestling was out and grocery clerk had limited potential, I opted for fitness.

In 2oo8, I hired personal trainer Aaron Orton to experience the benefits of personal training first hand. After training with Aaron for a year, I saw huge improvements both physically and mentally. I knew then that this was the field for me. In 2o1o, I enrolled in Lane Community College’s Exercise and Movement Science program.

In 2o11, I had my first official job working for Aaron Orton at his gym,Genuine Fitness. Then, in 2013, I branched out on my own and started Quality Functional Fitness, where I train in-home and in-gym out of Fitness Link in Springfield, Oregon.

I know the benefits of fitness firsthand, and I would love to see other people tap into the wonderful world of active living.
