I have known Matt for several years. He is the type of trainer that has the ability and knowledge to focus on your specific abilities and tailors your training to meet your goals. His coaching ability and approach is always specific to what you are trying to accomplish. I recall being trained by Matt and was training above my ability and trying to keep up with the other participants in the boot camp and Matt recognized it and zeroed in ( on his hands and knees ) on my challenges and specifically modified my approach to enable me to train at my specific level.it is rare that you come across standout people like Matt that have the ability to coach you through the difficulties and enable you to perform at your peak ability to maximize your workout, I have the honor of having Matt as my coach for the Ultimate Transformation Challenge at our training studio and I am now benefiting from his nutritional expertise as well. His approach to nutrition is outstanding. In just four weeks I have gone through dramatic changes in my physical body and mental approach to nutrition. I would highly recommend Matt to everyone.

I’ve been training with Matt for almost 3 years now, and believe he is one of the most experienced & committed trainers around. I started training at the gym where Matt works and was always envious of the other women he trained and wanted to be able to train with them. I saw the changes in their bodies and how strong they are and wanted to have the same experience. I must be a glutton for punishment. Matt is focused on helping me achieve my goals and makes every session challenging (& somehow fun). My fitness has increased noticeably and I’ve seen improvements in my ability to complete a longer plank/ core exercises, lift progressively heavier weights & generally push myself harder throughout each session. Matt is great to me. He always listened to my questions and other things that related to me to give me the best advice for the situation I was in at that time. When I first came to Matt I was suffering from chronic lower back pain from what I came to learn was from lack of core strength, poor posture and general weakness in areas of body I had never even thought about training before. In my time with Matt he worked with me on several day a week basis to strengthen my core, lower and upper body through an ever changing regimen of exercises. Matt's insight covers a wide array of areas, for me it was namely nutrition, movement and how to better balance my work/diet/health outside of the gym has been tremendously helpful in my life. I have been training all of my life and until I started working with Matt no one has assessed my specific needs. Unlike typical trainers, Matt has an uncanny ability to evaluate the way your body moves to determine which exercises will optimize your functional movement. I started training with Matt a few months ago after he was recommended to me by another health professional. I had never been to a trainer before, and despite being pretty fit, I definitely needed work on my movement patterns. So, I took the drive from Toms River (about 45 minutes) and if my schedule allowed it, I would make that drive to train with Matt everyday of the week. By the end of my first session we had identified some of my imbalances and started to work on them and I can feel the improvements every time I get to train with him. The workouts are fun because they challenge me every time, Matt mixes things up between kettle bells, resistance bands, the prowler, body weight, good old fashioned barbells and plates and whatever else you can think of. To keep it short, the guy is a pro. Everything I have asked him, he has had an answer for me, from my own routine when I'm training on my own, to what my diet should look like. Bottom line, Matt was recommended to me for a reason and there is a reason he works at such an amazing gym. Matt just gets it done and is an awesome guy to train with.

Matt is a great trainer. For almost 2 years I have worked out with Matt and have also been trained by him. He definitely is a top motivator and keeps the workouts challenging by always adding a variety of exercises to our sessions. Whether it is weights, kettlebells, TRX or the prowler, Matt pushes you to be your best. His attention to detail is key as he stresses proper form and technique. Matt is also a great resource when it comes to advice on nutrition. It is obvious when you look at Matt that he practices what he preaches. Having Matt for a trainer has been a great experience. He is excellent at what he does. I'll start out by saying Matt knows the inside and outs of it all, from strength and conditioning training all the way to the diet and heath guidelines! He knows his stuff! Matt runs a circuit training class at Power of One, which is the best class I've ever taken. (Been going to gyms and attend occasional classes for over ten years). Classes are challenging for beginner to expert. They are fun too. Matt's always prepared. Great class, wish I could get to the week night class too. You know you've been to Matt's circuit training class for the rest of the day. It seems like every muscle has been worked.

Great class instructor!
