Brian has been my instructor for about four mounths and I've learned so much from him. He explains everything very well and why it is done that certian way. Saftey is also a high priority to him. He always makes sure that no one is doing anything incorrectly. Brian is really fun to have as an instructor, and he takes the time to get to know his students and helps you with anything you want to improve. I would recomend him to anyone that wants to get stronger, stay in shape, lose weight, or just wants a different workout and environment than your usual gym.

I've known Brian for many years and I'm always amazed about his knowledge on training, nutrition, and supplements as well as various forms of martial arts and other sports. He's helped me on a number of occasions to reach my goal - whether it was training for a Ms. Figure competition, increasing my strength, or ensuring that I was still in shape and healthy while I was pregnant. As a person who HATES cardio and looking for something different, Brian convinced me that I would enjoy working with kettlebells - and he was right! I get a great strength workout and a good sweat. I've even taken a few of his classes while pregnant! If you're looking for a different kind of workout that gets you results, I highly recommend training with Brian.

I had the pleasure of meeting Brian at his USMC Benefit this past weekend, July 11th, 2009.

Not only is he a great host, he genuinely cares about his students and people in general. Brian wants to make sure that everybody he works with has a great experience and succeeds in their training.

My gold standard in an instructor is if I would send my mother to train with them. If they do not possess that intangible passion for their clients' success and genuinely care about them, then they don't pass that test.

Brian certainly meets and exceeds that gold standard.

I started training with Brian at a time where the last thing I needed was for some guy to tell me to run more and do more squats. I had just embarked on a weight loss program, and for the first time I was doing it for myself and myself alone. I knew mentally I was ready and physically I would push myself, so early in 2008 I showed up at Dragon Gym and took my first Russian Kettlebell class with Brian Petty, RKC. Every time I left his class, I was sweaty, sore, and tired, but it literally was the best feeling I have ever felt. I finally started to break through my mental and physical limitations and realize what my body is truly capable of and just how strong I was becoming. To date I have lost 67lbs and cut my clothing size by more than half. I train with Brian 4 days a week and have never in my life found a better exercise than Kettlebells. I am a 26 year old woman, who weighed over 200lbs when I started with Brian and now I have muscle definition on my arms, legs, even my stomach. It's literally amazing what you can accomplish with bells. Even more importantly, I would have never even known how to pick one up, if it weren't for Brian Petty. His vast knowledge of the human body, injury resistance, strength training and Russian Kettlebell literally makes it impossible to ask a question he cannot answer on the spot or find the best information for you to review on the topic. His charisma and enthusiasm in class get me fired up and push me far past the limits that previously hindered every other workout. My health, my strength, and my longevity can all be credited to Brian's dedication.

I started in Brian's classes about 6 months ago, and I am in the best shape in years thanks to him. After years of boring cardio and weight training, Brian's routines for MMA and kettlebells have made exercise fun again and a great form of stress release. In business, I have always tried to be the best by surrounding myself with the best people. I never paid that same attention to the personal side of thngs, but after meeting Brian Petty and training with him since Spring 08, I soon realized I struck gold. Years of wasted time in conventional gyms made the comparrison easy. Brian is 100% real. His 1 on 1 training sessions are customized to my needs, and coming off of 8 shoulder surgeries and an ACL replacement, I felt like I was falling apart and had reached the point of no return. I gave Brian a try, and it has not only changed me physically. My attitude is more positive, I have more self-confidence, and the workouts are amazing. I never pushed myself to these limits before, and he continues to raise the bar for me as he sees my progression. I have been an aggressive downhill skier for years, and the conditioning Brian puts me through will definately payoff in the powder next winter. Furthermore, I have never had a personal trainer actually train side by side with me. He doesn't ask anything of me he doesn't ask of himself. He practices what he preaches, and having a model like Brian gives me hope that I can reach goals higher than I set out to in the beginning. At 43 years old, Brian keeps me young, mind, body and soul. It's not just a workout, it's a way of life. His workouts are addictive. Thanks Brian.

I started training with brian about a year ago. within a short amount of time my conditioning went to a level that I thought to be unreachable. my strength increased exponetialy, and my overall punching and kicking power went to new highs. his indepth details of every part of the training makes for a fun and easy way to get in shape. unlike most all other trainers he's not just telling you what to do and letting you go off on your own. Brian is there next to you doing the same routine your doing, helping you every step of the way to make you the best you can be. if your serious about getting in shape, there is no other person to train with.

Brian Petty cares about each and every one of the people he trains. In a class setting he somehow manages to watch each person's technique and make sure everyone is doing each move safely and correctly. His workouts are brutal, but he sweats along every rep with you. In one month of working with Brian both with KBs and a nutrition plan, I have seen my body begin to transform. Brian Petty, his dedication, technique and approach to training, has played an instrumental role in my success. I was suffering from recurring headaches brought about by a high stress executive position in the financial services industry and a sedentary lifestyle. We have worked together for more than 2 years at a kettlebell and boxing regimen that has been, at the risk of throwing around platitudes, transformational. Chronological age marches on but I have removed at least a decade of physical age. I am clearly trimmer, more effective at work and more present at home, largely due to the well being that stems from my training with Brian. Brian is a personal trainer, and Kettlebells are just one tool (a very important tool) he uses to make sure you receive the type of training you need and the type that will keep you motivated to keep exercising!
I started with Brian because I needed some kind of exercise program to go along with my diet. For years I would diet and loose weight only to put it back on plus an extra couple of pounds each time. I tried one of his Kettlebell classes and thought; this may just be what I need. By the second class, I was hooked. Now I use Kettlebells (and other lifting tools he has shown me) 5 to 6 days a week.
Brian is not the type of person that motivates by yelling or being stern, he motivates me because he leads by example! And just his demeanor makes you want to do your best. He is not too loud and not soft spoken, and he listenens to make sure you are getting the training you need and want.
He works out with you for every rep of every class as long as I have been with him. And yes, that means he works out many times a day. I don???t know where he gets the stamina from but he makes it happen.
He is very easy to talk to and has great people skills. And in his field you really need great people skills to keep clients coming back.
If you find that Kettlebells are not for you, that???s fine. He also teaches Boxing, Conventional weightlifting, Old School lifting (like sand bags or dragging sleds etc..) MMA, and oh yeah, he is also VERY well versed in Nutrition.
Not only did he help me loose 60 lbs so far, I have kept it off for over a year. I have never maintained my weight like this, NEVER (except for the heavy times).
I would recommend him for anyone looking to get in shape or just stay in shape. I have even had my wife & 2 daughters train with him. So whether you are experienced with Kettlebells, or just a beginner, Brian is someone you should take the time to train with. You will not regret it!

I have been training with kettlebells and Brian Petty for over a year now and the results that we have achieved are phenomenal. I am noticably more muscular, leaner, and my strength has doubled. He customized a diet for me and even being as non compliant as I was, i still managed to succeed due to his expert tutelage and motivation. Brian has such a profound knowledge of nutrition, body physiology and most importantly safety, not to mention his humor and demeanor make him enjoyable to be around.I have since started boxing with Brian and because of the intense strength that kettle bell training has given me, no one can dare say that i hit like a girl! I consider myself priveledged to train with a gentleman of such high esteem.

Almost 3 years ago, I began going to Brian for conditioning for rock climbing. His basic conditioning helped my climbing immensely and I became better than I would have ever gotten just climbing alone. As I began to climb less and less, Brian changed our lessons and introduced me to kettlebells and eventually boxing.

The boxing training has been incredible. His classes and 1 on 1's really drive in the boxing experience. Brian is the reason I am in shape, and has given me the confidence I need in a shaky world. He has also set the exercise foundation for the rest of my life. I'm in with kettlebells for the long haul. Not only is he a good trainer, but I also consider him to be a great friend.

I have been training with Brian for nearly 3 years and have not only lost weight ( 36 lbs to date ) but have gained strenghth that I never thought I could have. The array of middle-aged aches and pains are kept well under control as Brian is constantly adapting my workout. Training with Brian has made my physically demanding job much easier, as I feel myself growing stronger each day. 3 years ago I could barely lift an 8kg kettlebell above my head, now swings, snatches and windmills with 12 kg and 16 kg bells are part of my daily routine. Brian has a gift for motivating his students and maintaining a high level of interest. His insight on nutrition has been invaluable, and the workout conversations are second to none! Who said girls can't be strong?

Brian's workout sessions are the first ones that have ever worked for me. I have seen results in the 7 weeks I've trained with him; solid changes in weight loss, muscle tone and strength.

He is smart,knowledgeable and able to "read" his clients, knowing when to push harder and when to take a gentler approach during each session. He knows what to say to keep momentum going for me and other clients I've witnessed him training. He is professional at all times and is extremely dedicated to ensuring that the basics of kettlebell training are always respected!
His group classes are punishing made only slightly more endurable by his irreverent sense of humor.

This past summer I stopped by my parents house for a quick visit. I found them digging a drainage ditch, filling it with rocks. When I asked them why they didn't call me for help (they are both 69 years old), they told me they didn't need it. They were content to do the work themselves. My father was carrying a bucket filled with rocks. As he passed me he said, "Six months ago, I could not have done this." My mother spends most of her days in the garden, planting and weeding. Brian and his training techniques have helped my parents regain the functional strength and flexibility they haven't had in a number of years.

I have been training with Brian Petty for almost a year now at Dragon Gym in Exton focusing on mixed martial arts, and after just a few short weeks I began seeing results in my; strength, muscle endurance, flexibility, punching and kicking power, overall well-being, and more suprisingly I no longer have lower back problems.

RKB are the perfect workout for anyone looking to improve any physical and mental improvements in training, or if you want to just look fit, and no-one in PA knows kettlebells like Brian Petty. Brian will not only break down every aspect of every workout done in class but more importantly he will make sure to take the time to give you personal step by step instructions.

I have personal lifted weights just about all my life, that is until Brian introduced me to kettlebells and I never expected to see better results than when I would try to bench press or squat as much as I possibly could, but sure enough RKB and Brian have transformed my body into serious shape.

I reccomend Brian's tutilage to anyone who wants that iconic 'bowflex' body, wants to get in shape, wants to relieve back pain and soreness, or for anyone wishing to learn the science of fighting and mixed martial arts (with real-life application).

I have been training at the Dragon Gym for close to sixteen years. For the past several years, business and personal commitments have limited my training to typically two nights a week. One of those nights is Brian Petty's Wednesday Russian Kettle Bell class. It has been a transforming class for me. In a very short time I have noticed a significant improvement in my overall strength and balance. I can feel that I am in more control of my kicks and punches.

Brian has the ability to convey his real world experiences in a fun way and put them in context to each of his RKB routines. I have been bothered by a nagging lower back pain for many years but Brian's explanations and subsequent training techniques have given me the core strength and more importantly the overall awareness of how to use my whole body when lifting. My back has never felt better.

I look forward to how he encourages us during class and we end up doing more as a group then if we trained individually and I am always disappointed when I miss his class.

Brian is a great instructor. He knows the ins and out of how the human body works and how to make it work best. He also knows about teaching. With this combination he can gear every work out specifically for each person in the class to their level. Some on studying martial art/weight lifting/ boxing for all their lives will benefit from his class along with the person taking their first class.

He has a keen eye for seeing what you are doing. Good feed back during a work out is very important; it not only prevents injury but help you get the most out of your time.

Though Brian is built impressively, he is also completely approachable. He has a very good teacher student interaction. Unlike some instructors I never feel hesitant to ask a question nor feel offended if he corrects me.

Kettlebells it self is a prefect muscle, balance, body training work out. Instead of running or basic aerobic classes, it actually helps build balance and totally muscle control. Each person from a master of martial art to the person just looking to be fit will benefit in greater muscle strength, endurance and dexterity from their time spent in this course.

Brian Petty is by far the most informative and intelligent strength and conditioning professional I have ever worked with. Not only does he "suffer" with you during the hellish workouts he also takes the time to make comments and adjustments to each and every student involved.
