Leading a healthy lifestyle was a far stretch beyond my imagination, until I got the opportunity to train with James. Coming from an athletic back round, I had been discouraged from back and knee injuries, and wanted to rebuild myself but didn’t know where to start. So when we started training, all the focus was on flexibility, technique, and strengthening of my core. As time went on, James implemented dieting with his enthusiastic encouragement of my progress, my healthy lifestyle change was coming full circle as I saw results in the gym paying off in my everyday life. Not to sound like an infomercial, but I lost 20 pounds of fat and feel stronger than ever thanks to James’s belief in functional training. I couldn’t be happier with my progress and recommend James to anyone looking to better themselves.

 
10/10 POST SURGERY REHAB WITH JAMES

I am an active 62 year old male who recently had back surgery for a bulging disc. I am a person who has never liked working out or doing routine type fitness programs. In the past I have attended extensive physiotherapy. My surgeon advised me to avoid any exercise or rehab. until 3 months post operation. He also recommended I consider a Personal Trainer rather than physiotherapy. I attended at Elevations Fitness in Surrey BC and was referred to James DEMUYNCK who was described as their best PT at accessing and designing recovery programs for people with unique needs. I signed up with James, which turned out to be one of my better decisions. He was amazing at accessing what I could and couldn't do and what I needed to do to regain flexibility, strength and over all fitness. He worked with me using a variety of stretching and strengthens exercises. He introduced me to kettle bells and integrated them as well as other fitness aids in my rehab program. I actually looked forward to our sessions which really surprised me. He told me at the outset that his goal was to get me to like exercise so I would continue with a healthy exercise schedule after we had completed our sessions together. I now attend the gym several times a week and work out
on my own and yes I do enjoy it now thank to James. My flexability and core strength has improved greatly and I feel so much better. I strongly believe my sessions with James were much more beneficial for me than my previous experiences with physiotherapy.
James is a very personable caring person who gives you the feeling he is genuinely concerned about you and takes pride is seeing you improve.


 
10/10 8 Weeks with James

I recently signed up for a 8 week program with James and was shown a whole other style of training . In a short time my entire look at training has been changed for the better, I was shown to train with kettle bells and body weight and how to be stronger , better conditioned and more mobile and most of all doing this all safely. Due to a wrist injury I didn’t think i was going to be able to do much for a while but James had me go from hardly being able to clean and press a 24 kg kettle bell to pressing for 3 clean reps in only 3 days . I also told him how my hamstrings never has great flexibility and he was able to quickly find that it was connected to my horrible ankle mobility which I would have never realized on my own. James has a very unique approach to training , by being the most technical trainer i have seen are talked to , he is able to break down movements in exercises and give you tips to understand proper movements helping you understand the exercises right away. Like a great trainer always should , James practises what he preaches and is always able to lead by example. My 8 week program is over but I can't wait to now do one on one sessions with James !

I've been doing resistance training for about 10 years now and also played football for 2yrs in university and ran track during that time period. I like challenging myself and often look for new ways to change up my workouts when I hit a plateau or find that my enthusiasm to workout has plummeted slightly. I decided to get back into power lifting and enlisted the help of James to help me get back that explosiveness that I once had when squatting and dead lifting. I don't often give compliments and rarely ever impressed by most trainers because I've been training so long but James definitely surprised me. He tackled all of my problem areas like a mathematical equation, breaking down every PL exercise in sequences and steps which made it easy to see where my strengths and weaknesses were. Unfortunately, my time with him was short-lived (only a month) as I moved into a new home recently which isn't close to the gym that he trains at. Don't think I'll find another trainer like him but I'm very greatlful to the knowledge and skills that he has passed on to me as I still incorporate them at my new gym. James isn't one of those trainers who just sticks to what he knows as personal development is very important to him as well. Wish more trainers were like you and I have no doubt you will do well in you personal training career. Missing our classes already!!! Continue to excel and do great things bro.

While I have not had the opportunity to train directly under James, I have had the privilege of conversing and trading training philosophies with him for the past year and all I have to say is "wow". One can tell that he has a true passion for what he does, often giving excellent advice and encouragement to those that seek it. Having observed the progression of those that have trained under him, it is obvious as to why he is one of the top ranking trainers in BC. His professionalism is unmatched, all the while having a genuine concern and dedication to his clients, which is rare thing in this industry. I personally know that my training has progressed under his influence, and will most definitely continue to seek his guidance and wisdom in the personal betterment of my physical training. I would without a doubt recommend James to anyone seeking an instructor in this field, as I am truly confident in his ability to accelerate and better those that train under him. My experience with James last summer was incredible, we focused on lifting heavy for strength while gaining mass. All my lifts went up and i was able to perform throughout my football season without injury. Today i was able to squat 405 lbs due to James training and i just turned 18. If you want TOP KNOWLEDGE from one of the best in the business JAMES is your man!!!

I first met James last fall and have been training with him since. I have to say it has been one of the best decisions that I have made. I had many injuries with my back and shoulders, not to mention totally I was totally inflexiable. Our training started with basic stretching and breathing techniques. Slowly but surely James introduced some kettle bell training into our 1 hour sessions. We have gotten to the point where I am now feeling much stronger and flexible that James is teaching me Olympic lifting. James has helped my every step of the way and educating me al the time on proper technique. If it wasn't for his knowledge of fitness, his cool demeanor, and a willingness to help, I wouldn't be anywhere close to my fitness level now. I hope to continue working with James and continue to grease the gears!

I've been training for the majority of my life and always looked at the kettlebell like a piece of furniture, but that all changed the day I saw THE TECHNICIAN throwing around the bell as if it was an extension of his body. Cense than my view of the kettlebell has been reworked, I now no longer workout without this beautiful piece of cast iron, but have also acquired much respect towards it. I myself a personal trainer understand the importance of proper technic and James has been impeccable at getting his points across with complete patience, I couldn't be more pleased with the way the kettlebell feels in my hands and have nothing but gratitude towards James for first, being an extraordinary trainer, 2ed, a awesome person and lastly but not the least, a phenomenal teacher. My own clients have a better trainer today cause of the training I've experienced with James! Thanks for the help and would like to tell anyone who may wonder if this guy as good as I say? You take a run at the Technician and you'll see!

What can I say, other than awesome. James met me day 1 of our SFG certification. We partnered up and kicked ass for three days. Without him, im not sure how well I would have done. He was there every step of the way cueing me, pushing me, making sure I was doing my best and doing it right. He taught me more and was there more than our Team Assistants. I can say enough about him and there are no words that describe his level of commitment and knowledge. He is RKC, SFG, CK-FMS, and PM Certified... that knowledge base will blow your mind how well you will move after working with him. If you are hesitating then stop right now and pick up the phone. There is no reason James wouldnt be #1 on my list of top SFG, RKC Prep instructors.

After seeing some before and after pictures of a girlfriend of mine who had just completed training with Jamie, I jumped right on board.... I was expecting to get my ass handed to me... And I did, but in a completely different way than expected. Before i started training with Jamie, I was doing the Insanity program, and no joke, I dreaded waking up every morning. Jamie has completely changed my outlook on working out. He is so passionate and knowledgable about what he does and I love every second of training with him. Throughout the months I have felt myself grow stronger and more confident and have witnessed my body do strength training I never thought possible.... Chin ups ??? Seriously?? I couldnt do one real pushup before spending time with james... He really knows how to make health and fitness an enoyable part of life and understands how to teach people to make realistic lifestyle changes and commitments compared to the typical, run you down till you can't take anymore and never want to return after your finished type training. When you see youself changing and doing things you've never thought possible, it really is the most rewarding feeling !!!

Before beginning my 12-week program with James, I was honestly expecting to hate my life and was hoping I'd notice maybe a few changes in my strength and physical appearance. After the first week, I knew I was wrong. I enjoyed it immensely, looked forward to going to the gym, and didn't hate my life. Having only ever a preview of training with a few other people, I thought that all there was to it was being pushed as hard as I could and feeling like I couldn't walk for a week after. This experience has been completely different. James really focuses on quality over quantity, which for myself has increased my strength level, my confidence, and my appreciation for trainers. He tailors every workout to meet each person's individual needs and ensures that he gives us the feedback necessary to do the best we can do. Nearing the end of the program, I have noticed a huge change in my strength and physical appearance, and still feel positively towards going to the gym on a regular basis. James is an awesome, friendly, highly knowledgeable trainer and I can’t wait to continue on with his programs.

I am very happy that I decided to take James 12 week program. The group settings are small and very personal. Between the training, nutrition and supplement guidelines, it is a very well rounded program. Not to mention I have never felt stronger and more sure of my abilities in years. James pushes you to reach your goals but also makes sure you stay injury free. I am looking forward to see what I can achieve with another 12 week program. Whatever your age or ability, I highly recommend James as either a group or personal trainer.

Training with James has been such a fantastic experience. I've learned so much and accomplished more than I thought I would. He is dedicated to his clients. He is a trainer that ensures proper technique on every exercise so that those who train with him learn early on the proper moves so that their training can only improve. James is a very knowledgeable trainer. He treats each of his clients individual needs even in group training sessions. He's a cheerleader and a motivater!!! I started training with James approximately three years ago, being overweight, fairly out of shape and still in my late 20’s I decided it was time to make a change. I still recall my first sessions training with James as if they were yesterday – James was a young 20-something years old and had a knack for training. While training with James for approximately a year, I saw myself get in better shape, but I never really put 100% into making a change. Fast-forward to August 2012. James and I had been in contact for quite some time since he had returned from his travels and informed me that he was starting up a “Group Fitness Challenge”. Being intrigued I bit the bullet and joined. I knew I always enjoyed training with kettlebells, but training under the guidance of James was a definite plus! He is extremely knowledgeable in all aspects of physical fitness etc. At the start of the Group Fitness Challenge I was feeling fat, out of shape and lazy - I have always been somewhat of a “big guy” standing at 6’2” and weighing 256lbs. By the end of the 3 month Challenge the changes I had noticed in my body composition were astounding - I had not only dropped 25+lbs while gaining a significant amount of muscle, but I improved my eating habits, training ethic and am seriously thinking of getting my Strong First Kettlebell Certification this year! James always makes training enjoyable, whether we are doing heavy lifting days or light days, I always look forward to going in and training. I am now on my second 3 month challenge and have seen great results that surpassed my expectation of what I could do. Prior to the first 3 month challenge, I was not able to do a proper pull-up/chin-up, now I can do them with ease!

I can honestly say that without James’ guidance and expertise, I would not have been so motivated to get myself into the best shape of my life!

I have always had an interest and enjoyed health and fitness, but I have always had the issue of expecting major results fast, and have become confused many times with the different information coming from people and places. James has shown me a whole different side and style of working out. He taught me that you do not need to run yourself to the ground to see results. You really can enjoy your workouts and you can finish with much more energy than when you started. After my first session with James i questioned myself if these workouts were really going to show me results because I was used to feeling exhausted after the gym. In my 8 years of working out i have never had quicker results or been more lean and strong than at the end of my 3 months with him. It is so nice, and really hard to find a truely passionate trainer that really does know what they're talking about and not just after your money! Thank you James! I look forward to training with you more in the future.

Over my adult life, I have tried many different gym and exercise programs with limited success. At the age of 40 I decided it was time to try a new approach. A girlfriend of mine was training with James and suggested that I join her in a group training class. It was a decision that I am glad I made! The program that James’ has been taking us through helped me to develop into the strongest and best physical shape that I have ever been in. His technique is very methodical and looking back over the past 12 weeks I can clearly see how I was able to obtain these results. James has always been open and honest in his discussions with me in regards to my training and my goals. His personal demeanor and knowledge puts him well beyond his years. If you are looking for a change, and want to see results, I would strongly recommend that you look to James as your next personal trainer.

I have had the pleasure of working along side of James as a trainer as well as under his guidance as a trainee. To say that James takes his job very seriously and that it is his life’s passion would be an understatement. He is always thinking about effective ways to shape his clients into strong, mobile and stable beings and does so in a way that is personal to each. Working with James has taught me to watch how bodies move (or don’t move for that matter!) and to cue effectively for correction in a way that is understandable and feasible to each client and their learning processes.

I have been resistance training for many years and thought I knew how to perform most exercises and movements with great form. Working with James as a trainee has uncovered muscle imbalances and poor movement patterns in my body that I didn’t even know existed. Relearning most of the basic exercises under James’ watchful eye proved both humbling and exciting as I was encouraged to perform in a way that was both safe, effective and results based. I watched my body slowly change. I started to develop more muscle definition, I lost body fat and saw strength gains that I didn’t know were possible. I can honestly say that at 38 years old and with many years of hard exercise under my belt that I am the leanest and the strongest I have ever been. With James there is tough love but there is always praise, a combination that is necessary for any client to succeed.

I feel blessed to have James Demuynck in my corner as a colleague, trainer and friend. I would recommend him to anybody who is looking for true, personal guidance and results. His professionalism, preparedness, skill and knowledge far surpass many in this industry.

Late last May I started working with James two days a week for one hour. Having recently healed from a back injury, I was eager to strengthen my core and improve my overall fitness. I had never worked with a trainer before and my gym experience was limited to treadmills and ellipticals.

I tried a boot camp style of training once which left me feeling completely incompetent. It just wasn't for me.

Fairly quickly into our training I began to feel stronger and more confident in my ability to execute the types of movements that he was teaching me. James helped me to build my confidence by showing me what I COULD do rather than what I couldn't do. It was very empowering!

Hooked on James' style of training, I signed up for his 12-week group program. We trained four days a week and received nutritional guidelines that he custom designed for us. I was a little concerned about moving into a group format after having the luxury of working with him one-on-one. What I learned about James is that he is a master at attending to his clients' needs in either setting. He is able to keep the flow of a group regardless of the group's diversity. He ensures that each member receives the attention they need in order to maximize the benefit of each exercise. His vast experience enables him to accommodate people of all fitness levels and abilities.

I appreciate that James is committed to lifelong learning and is continually experimenting with and implementing new techniques. James' passion for training and fitness is infectious! I dare you not to get hooked. I'm doing things at the gym that I never thought I was capable of doing . . . after only six months! Best lifestyle change I've ever made. For the last couple of years I have been somewhat active and went the the gym here and there. But I found myself unable to get to that goal that i really wanted. I was kind of reluctant and hesitant to getting a personal trainer because lets face it, I thought i knew all what to do at the gym. How hard could it be to lift weights and do cardio?

The first session I had started with James was a definate start to a road of recovery because of a shoulder injury I had for a while. With his specific training and techniques I pretty much fully recovered the major strains I had. The workouts and training he gave were intense and very insightful. It took hard work and dedication thats for sure. When training with Jamie, he wants you to reach your goals and really goes over and beyond any expectations.

James training has definitely given me results. He has given me more motivation and determination to bring me to my goals. The results that I have achieved is an eye opener.

James, thanks for all the advice, knowledge and training you have given. Truly an inspiration.

I had always been of the mindset that if I was self-motivated enough and worked hard I would be able to achieve my fitness goals without the extra expense of hiring a personal trainer. I was already an avid gym-goer and cardio enthusiast, but minimally took part in strength training. But mounting school, work and personal obligations threw off my routine and I found myself at my heaviest weight and miserable. Based on my inability to get back to my original weight and shape on my own, plus the fantastic word of mouth I had heard about James I decided to take part in a 3 month long fitness program he had formulated.

I will NEVER work out without incorporating strength training again! Forget plain old running my butt off on a treadmill or climbing stairs going nowhere for hours a week. In the past 3 months working with James I have seen my body change significantly for the better. James’ program is utterly creative and unique. The workouts he provides are dynamic and progress in a manner which lets you truly see and appreciate the strength and ability you develop. Furthermore, James is continually expanding his fitness knowledge and thus, his workouts and programs are continually changing and evolving so that no time or effort is ever wasted. His workouts are amazing and cover the physical, mental and nutritional aspects associated with fitness and living a healthy and, more importantly, enjoyable lifestyle. James’ experience and knowledge enables him to modify essentially any exercise to accommodate any person at any fitness level, which makes his training approachable and encouraging. After a session with James I feel accomplished and charged (albeit a little fatigued at times), rather than exhausted and defeated. I actually look forward to my next session, rather than dreading it like most boot-camp style programs I have taken part in.

My body has never transformed so quickly and I have never felt better. Training with James has been, hands down, the best lifestyle change I have ever made. James truly lives for fitness and training, and helping others achieve their goal and this is reflected in his interactions with his clients. He is incredibly knowledgeable, professional, fun and, as a bonus, he’s easy on the eyes. I look forward to continue working with James in the future.

I decided to contact James for some personal training after reading so many of the positive reviews he has received. Having never been to the gym my knowledge of exercises and techniques was practically zero, however James was able to make this a very easy introduction that was both an informative and enjoyable experience for me. After assessing my current level of fitness he was able to put together a routine for me that would best advance towards the goals I wished to achieve, as well as detailed nutritional information and instructions on how each individual exercise will progress as I move forward. I would highly recommend James' services to anyone looking to make an improvement in their fitness and health.

James is very good at what he does. It is not just training technique. it is a mixture of proper nutrition, healthy lifestyle tips, and progressive changes to the workouts. James would modify exercises depending on your fitness level. He would already have the exercises laid out and modified before hand, he was pro-active with our fitness levels and the exercises he chose, opposed to reactive. Despite being in a group fitness program with Jamie, he was still there to provide 1 on 1 instruction and offer sound advice. James knew I had a shoulder problem from a previous injury and would modify some exercises for me and provide exercises to help strengthen my weaker shoulder. Lastly, the thing I enjoyed most about the program was what I retained from the methods he taught us. I use his nutritional suggestions that he laid out for us and the exercise techniques we used. I feel like I know how to train more efficiently and how to challenge myself. I definitely look forward to working with James again.

For the past 4-5 years, I haven't done a whole lot of physical activity. I've been a pretty active person for most of my life, and have really wanted to get back into leading a more healthy lifestyle. One thing that really drew me to working with James was his passion for what he does, and how he wanted to incorporate his training methods, eating habits, and ideology on living healthy into my daily life. I enrolled in a small group of people from all walks of life. He cultivated each workout, and even each exercise specific to our level of fitness (old or young, fit or a little out-of-shape) and trained us 3-4 times a week for 12 weeks, and I can honestly say, I've never felt so invigorated, motivated and determined in my life. Unlike other trainers, or other programs, most of what James has taught me, have become a staple in my life. He is extremely professional, is constantly evolving and learning, and cares about the well being of all his clients like no other. You're champ James, I look forward to continue training with you!

I went to Jamie to see what he could do for my level of fitness. Having worked with him before and being more than impressed by the results I knew there was nobody else I wanted to work with. I had received a phone call and was told that I would be starting boot camp with the Canadian forces in two months and knew that fitness would be a large part of this training process. James saw me within an hour of talking to him on the phone and had a routine ready for me within 36 hours. He even took the time to go through each exercise with me to make sure I understood and did each workout properly. He focused on everything from strength, cardio and endurance, exactly what I had asked for. As I have now completed my basic training, I can say that James knew exactly what he was doing. I showed up in the best shape of my life, and although I can’t say I found it easy, James training definitely made it easier. Due to James exceptional training, I was able to capture the ‘Top Athlete’ award in my graduating class and even set a Canadian Forces fitness record for basic training. His knowledge, drive and commitment to his students is like nothing I have ever experienced. James is a no non-sense, hard-working guy who can clearly deliver results, whether you are recovering from an injury, an athlete, or starting your career. Thank you James for everything you have done. I am truly grateful for all the help you have provided me in achieving a great physical fitness standard.

I came to Jamie 4 months ago for the sole purpose of getting back in shape. My lifestyle had varied quite a bit over the last 4 years and as an ex-athlete, I decided to make that change by training with Jamie.

After 1 week of training with Jamie, I already knew that I would be continuing for as long as I can. With trainers of the past, I had been thrown into the deep end without being properly assessed as to what would benefit me the most. Jamie took the time to understand my needs and develop my fitness in a way which created the most value for me. With Jamie, I turned my goals into achievements and my lifestyle had been improved dramatically. His knowledge regarding diet and nutrition is by far the best advice I have ever received and his passion for what he does really shows throughout every training session.

Every trainer says they have a passion for what they do, but Jamie exemplifies it through his positive attitude, knowledge, and integrity.

I first met James while doing snatches in the power rack. His knowledge of training and open minded attitude persuaded me to ditch my hard headed style of training alone. I had been training alone for quite a while and muscle imbalances stemming from football injuries had been impeding on progress. James assured me that we would fix some of my issues, mainly shoulder and hip imbalances, and "bulletproof" me for my upcoming football season. Well that's exactly what we did, just after the first couple weeks i felt more compact and agile on the field, without any nagging injuries coming forth. Now i've finished 24 sessions with him, and i feel bigger, faster, and stronger than ever! Not only that but James understood how i felt at the beginning of every session and would change the program for the best results at that specific time. About a month prior to one of the most important tests of my career, I went to James for some extra guidance and motivation. Already having a high level of fitness and understanding of personal training principles, I felt that I needed some adjustments to my current training regime to ensure that I was as prepared as I could possibly be for this assessment.

I provided James with a description of each segment of the test, from which he created a very challenging program containing elements that targeted each portion of the test. As always, his depth of knowledge and use of a variety of equipment and techniques provided the results I needed. I successfully completed all aspects of the fire service fitness assessment, allowing me to move on in the recruitment process.

Moving on... I came to James about 4 months ago overweight and out of shape so I went in for a consultation with him and signed up for the tough mudder training. I was a little leery at first just cause of how out of shape i was but after a month training with James, seeing his dedication and commitment I knew id start seeing results, which I did.. I trained as much as possible as I could with my schedule, training 3-4 times a week for an hour and working out on my own time. I was very pleased with the results I got and how James runs his training programs.. he has to be one of the most dedicated, no non sense all business type trainers I have ever had he does not take no for an answer and I thourghly enjoyed getting the opportunity to train with him and he definitely helped me improve my body composition, i lost almost 40 lbs, my stamina and overall strength went up and I noticed since i work in the trades industry I'm a pressure welder that my body does not hurt anywhere near Wat it use to when I'd go out of town for work..

I'd like to say thank you James for helping me out tremendously not only looking better but feeling better as well, you defiantly know your stuff and I hope i get the chance to train with you again it was a privilege to train beside such an awesome guy!

I started training with Jamie about 12 months ago. Our schedule was 3 times per week for 1 hour. I am 35 years old and almost 6'7 tall. When I started I weighed 320-325 lbs and had a 44- 46 inch waist. Now I weigh between 297-301lbs and have a 40 inch waist. My body has completely changed, now I'm stronger than ive been in 10 years without the bulk of traditional weight training.

As my training progressed , I decided that I wanted to work toward being certtified as a RKC. I still have alot to learn and am planning on meeting my goal by mid 2012. I appreciate Jamies help in providing me with a Very strong foundation.

Jamie is an amazing teacher and is very knowledgable, professional and passionate about kettlebells and health. With his guidance, ive developed better eating habits, great technique and a love for kettlebells and am on my way to be in the best shape of my life. I wish i could continue my journey with him. I appreciate everything you have taught me! Have fun in OZ !

I started training with Jamie in the offseason for football last year, I wanted to get faster, stronger, and healthier. Jamie did just that, never could I have thought I would see the results that I did. When I started out I was about 260, just a big ball of fat. The first workout with Jamie I knew he was the real deal, he filled me with so much knowledge about the lifts. If you were having trouble with anything he'd take the time to make sure you get it. That's whats great about him, he's a down to earth guy, really smart about what he does and pushes you to the max. Throughout my experiance training with Jamie, every lift gained atleast 5 pounds week by week. I saw tremendous gains especially in my deadlift and squats. During my senior season this year in highschool I was the top tackler for the defensive line in British Columbia, and also was awarded Provincial All-star for the defensive line. Thanks for everything Jamie, I couldn't have done it without you and the training.

I have worked at the same gym with James for several months and I find him to be extremely knowledgeable and professional. He has shown that he is highly capable of working with many types of clients, including high level athletes, expectant mothers, grandmothers, and everyone inbetween. He creates individualized training and nutrition programs for every single one of his clients based upon their goals, and he progresses his clients' training as they become stronger, better conditioned, and more mobile. In the months we have worked together, I have seen results in many of his clients, both in terms of loss of inches and gains in strength and conditioning.
James is very dedicated to what he does and is continually finding new ways to ensure the success of his clients in meeting or exceeding their goals. Not only is he attentive and focused while working with clients, James spends much of his time reading and researching fitness and nutrition literature in order to provide his clients with the best training possible. Playing 5 years of collegiate football my body has been pushed to the limit. Without a doubt my success-the opportunity to play professionally in France and potentially the CFL- can be attributed to Jamie's training.

Jamie has been with me from the start of my career and has increased my athletic performance exponentially. From strength and conditioning to movement and flexibility and even diet and body composition Jamie's expertise is not limited to one area. He offers a complete package to any athletes looking to improve themselves both on and off the field.

Using his methods in preparation for the Duane Forde National Invitational Combine, one of the two major CFL Combines for Canadian Interuniversity Sport (CIS) football players I increased my 225 pound Bench press reps from 14 to 19, my vertical jump from 29" to 33" decreased my body fat % from 15% to 9% and ran a 4.65 second 40 yard dash, all while weighing in at 210 pounds.

Although Jamie was instrumental in improving me in all aspects of my training the most important thing he accomplished with me was making me into a better athlete. He made me more flexible; made me more coordinated and made me react quicker and with more power. These increases in flexibility and coordination not only helped me perform better on the field, but they have also increased the length of my career and improved my quality of life off the field. Career length and pain management and longevity are crucial to sports-football especially. Having suffered a broken ankle requiring surgery and a previous hip muscle rupture as well as permanently damaged vertebrae in my neck, Jamie's expertise not only helped fix these injuries but also helped prevent these issues from reoccurring.

I recommend Jamie to any aspiring athlete looking to be the best of the best and who also wants to stay competitive once accomplishing their goals.

I have had the pleasure of working with James in a variety of capacities and I can honestly say he is one of the best trainers I have had the pleasure to work with.

I spent four years playing and three years coaching Canadian College football at Mount Allison University in Sackville, NB and have had a lot of experience dealing with personal trainers and coaching at the highest levels. James provides training at a excellent level, consistent with the highest level athletic competition in Canada.

After suffering a serious knee injury while in college, I did not expect to retain much of my previous athleticism but through James and his training methods I have been able to reclaim a lot of the speed, quickness and strength I previously possessed while avoiding further damage to my knee. In many areas I have actually been able to improve my fitness while learning more about the training and conditioning of the body. On a one on one, training level James will deliver results.

James also has worked with the high school basketball team I coach. He was great with the kids and adapted his methods to their individual skill sets and knowledge. He has been a great asset and made a difference in these kids athleticism and abilities all without any sort of financial compensation. He is a community oriented individual who sees physical fitness and health as a huge priority.

Without question, I recommend James as a trainer and a person.

I am a 55 year old grandmother, and former athlete, who had complete knee replacement surgery almost 3 years ago. Out of shape, over weight, and looking for a way to improve my health, I started working out under James' guidance 18 months ago. I now feel like a different person: I have lost weight (down 3 sizes), gained strength, completely altered my eating habits, and I am able to participate in a healthier lifestyle.

As a result of my knee replacement, James has had to adapt several exercises to my physical 'inabilities'. Through 'trial and error', questioning, observing, and adapting, he has managed to get me doing a proper Turkish Getup and a full squat with weight.

I really enjoy working out with James. He is able to perceive when I am bored, or struggling, with a certain workout, and is willing to make positive changes. James is alway professional, and he instinctively knows when to give a word of encouragement, or a 'kick in the pants'!

Thanks to James, and his dedication to his work, I am enjoying my new way of life!

I came to James to add variety to my work out. I started to get bored with my routine and therefore became lazy. James took the time to create a workout plan that would cater to my needs and goals. He is passionate at helping people get healthy and always has progressions to help you.

I am not a morning person but to fit into my schedule I would be up at 6am, three times a week and look forward to going. He changed the workouts to keep things interesting. He offers help with diet and as lots of suggestions of working out if you can`t make it to the gym.
He is a wonderful trainer and I would defiantly recommend him!
I worked with James for 12 weeks and saw definite results. The only reason I stopped was because I was leaving the country. I will start back again when I get back to Canada.

When I first began with James I was and athletic and in fair shape, but with no real physical goals ahead of me. But after the first session it was like a light had turned on. Not only are you becoming faster and stronger, mentally you feel powerful. Shortly after starting with James I ran my first marathon, not because im a runner. But the fact that I thought my body could.

Apart from mental gains my physical gains were leaps and bounds ahead of where I started. I was achieving things that I truely didnt no my body was capable of. Ever since I was a kid i've always had lower back problems. But after a few short weeks I noticed those problems fading. Due to the fact now my body was working as one. Big or small all muscles were working together, but mainly everything was STRONG!

I can honestly say that James is the reason why I have a new way of thinking.

I played soccer in high school and got a bad knee injury and was had to stop playing for a long time. I was able to go to the gym and exercise moderately, as well as run outdoors but only for short periods of time. This was really frustrating for me, and I wasn't getting very good results at the gym and it seemed like the same thing over and over.

When I started training with James I saw results right away and I enjoyed going to work out with him because it wasn't the usual stuff you do at the gym. I felt like we were just having fun. Don't get me wrong they where challenging exercises and they targeted the areas I wanted to work on. The program he designed for me was specific to what I wanted out of my workout and I was able to push myself further each time. He was able to make my knee stronger in the process and I was able to join an indoor soccer league. I plan to continue training with James and become a stronger and faster athlete.

Anyone can go to your local gym and find a trainer that just wants to take your money, ive witnessed trainers even talking on there bloothooth while training someone. Jamie takes such great pride in improving your way of life, and helping you achieve and exceed your goals.

NUMBER 1 - ITS FUN**

I play golf at a very high level on the VGT and in tournaments around Canada, I have read many golf related work out regimes and have tried them all. None of which work better than having jamie work with me on my flexibility, (was extremley terrible to begin with), Balance, Core stregnth, Stamina... the list goes on. What ever you want to achieve he will take you there. The feeling of it is extremley personal, he is 100% dedicated to every single person he trains - meal plans, work out routines while away from the gym and he will definitly push you to show you what you are capable of. I have dislocated my shoulder 3 times playing 3 different sports - i also was told to have surgery but I didnt want to take the chance losing my range of motion, yeah i did physio every time but never have i felt this confident it wont come out in 6 years, thanks to the strenth and flexibilty traning we have been doing. Jamie has a great future ahead of him in this business and I feel honored to be able to work out with someone whos is bound to be "one of the greats"


There is absolutley no reason why you should have any doubts. This guy is the real deal

I have trained with James off and on over the past few years and he has helped me a great deal with many aspects of physical fitness and health. For example; I sustained a shoulder injury almost 8 years ago that left my shoulder weak and vulnerable. I was given the option of surgery or physio to repair the damage. As an athlete at the time I chose the quickest plan that would get me back on the ice. I completed 3 weeks of physio and returned back to hockey. I never fully recovered and still had frequent problems. James has demonstrated and taught me exercises and movements that helped me improve the condition of my injured shoulder and I no longer suffer from the pain and extreme limits of motion that I did before.

Workouts with James do not leave you physically exausted and sore. I have found after every session I feel recharged and have never felt sore or hurt. My sessions with James have resulted in gradual improvements in many physical aspects of life. Routine runs and bike rides became easier after I took a month hiatus to solely train with James. As a trainer he is very dedicated to his work and wants to help his clients improve and reach there goals. He is also constantly trying to learn more himself and improve his own skills. He takes a great deal of pride in his methods and creates programs that will help clients meet their specified goals. James is a great trainer and is always willing to help. I would recommend him to friends, family and anyone else looking to improve their physical fitness and health.

I have been training with James for just over a year. I recently played a game of ice hockey which I hadn't done in about two years. I couldn't beleive the strength I felt in my legs and my entire body. James has gotten me to a place physically that I didn't think was achievable. I had been exercising and filling my body with supplements for years, but had never been happy with the results. A few months ago, I gave James the challenge of getting me into the best shape of my life. I explained to James what my goals were and he was able to come up with a personal workout for me. It took James just a few sessions to have me bigger, faster and stronger. I am very impressed by the knowledge James has, and how he continues to get more training to make himself an even better trainer. I'm the strongest I've ever been and it's because of James and his training. He met and exceeded all expectations that I had. I took a six week kettlebell bootcamp with James in the Fall of 2009. Kettlebell training is not the type of exercise I would normally gravitate towards, but I wanted to try something new. What I found was a fun and diverse program that both worked my muscles and my cardio system. I really liked that the classes included a variety of different types of exercises, which kept it fun and challenging. James was an excellent trainer, giving great guidance and encouragement without being overbearing. He used a wide range of techniques that produced results without allowing for the workouts to become boring or monotonous. By the second week in I was already noticing huge results: I was able to run for longer than I could before, had greater strength, and was already starting to notice weight loss and muscle definition in my body. At the end of the six weeks I am stronger, faster, and healthier. I highly recommend James as a trainer.

My BMI is on the low side and I came to James to gain muscle as opposed to fat to increase my weight. James constructed an exercise and diet plan that was individualized to fit my needs. As a full time student, I have a very hectic life and James povided me with flexible plans including modifications for when I am pressed for time. After just 2 weeks I noticed that my arms had become more toned. I would definitely reccommend James as a trainer. He is extremely dedicated, efficient, organized, reliable and knowledgable.

Playing a high level of hockey my whole life, I have constantly looked for new ways to improve my level of fitness and strength. With James, I believe I have finally found the perfect balance to achieve my personal physical goals. Before starting Kettle-bell training, I was doing extensive workouts in Plyometrics, weight training, and cross-training; with various trainers and various class sizes. Now having experienced personal, focused, one-on-one training with James, I feel better about my overall conditioning and don't have the aches and pains I used to with my old workouts.
I have been working with James now for 16 weeks. I have seen tremendous improvements in all areas of my physique, including core strength and cardiovascular stamina. All in all, I could not be happier! I plan to continue my training with James for as long as possible, he is professional, motivating, and very good at what he does.

My husband and I have been training kettle-bell with James for about two months and are definitely enjoying the workouts. Before we were training five times a week on our own and just not achieving the results we were hoping for. Now we train twice a week with James and still 3 times on our own and have noticed a change already. My arms are becoming more defined and leaner which I haven't been able to do on my own. We both find the workouts very effective and far more efficient - which is important to us
James is extremely professional and knowledgeable and pushes us to get the workout we want. It is obvious that James is very passionate about Kettle-bell
