Primal Move is a game-based, play-oriented approach to the art and science of enhancing your movement skill.

The Primal Move system—with its deep roots both in modern science and the most revered of the ancient "body culture" disciplines—provides you a dynamic new way to effectively retrain your body to reclaim its natural ability to move with elegance, strength, power and speed.

Added benefits often include: improved endurance, a reduction or removal of pain, greater energy and a radically improved sense of overall well being.

Primal Move helps puts the joy back into your exercise program—when injury, imbalances, aging or other set backs have made "working out" a painful struggle rather than a natural source of pleasure.

Regular practice of Primal Move can put you back in the driver’s seat—put you back in the "Game". Already in the Game, a "Player"—but under-achieving? Then expect Primal Move to elevate your game and bring you right back into contention.

Primal Move says life is short—too short to let ourselves be mired in seriousness, pain and physical limitation. Burnt out, stressed out, depleted or otherwise dispirited?—Primal Move could be the "magic medicine" to help ignite a new drive and passion for a life worth living to the full…

Primal Move—with its interactive partner games—is, by its nature, highly social. To engage with Primal Move is to engage with a social community of playfully athletic friends. Both modern science and the ancient body culture lineages have testified to the healing power of social connection through shared movement. So much of modern life has become "virtual" social connection. Nice, but nothing like the real-world pleasure of actual social interaction—and of a kind that enhances our physical capacities, rather having us hunched alone in front of a computer screen…

The Special and Foundational Relationship
Between Primal Move and FMS

Tap into Primal Move and you are tapping into the inherited wisdom and lineages of Mihaly Csikszentmihalyi’s Flow theories, martial arts ranging from Eyal Yanilov’s Krav Maga to Tai Chi, Yoga, Feldenkreis, Somatics and much, much more.

However, Peter Lakatos, Primal Move’s originator, credits Lee Burton and Gray Cook’s FMS System as the real "difference-maker" that separates Primal Move from the rest of the pack. Combining a strong FMS foundation with games makes Primal Move very special.

One of the great FMS insights—and a primary driver for Primal Move—is the importance of rolling movements to properly activate the vestibular system. Primal Move’s emphasis on rolling rebuilds movement patterns and—in an important sense—brings the body "back to full life". As Lakatos put it: "People can become instantly stronger when they have full access to their own hardware and software."

So to summarize: Primal Move is an integrated movement system, where the goal is to create better movement, based on the primal and primitive movements we all had mastered as children. Do you remember how you were pain-free when you played, ran, played football, threw a stone or climbed a tree? Do you remember when movement was joyful, fun and you felt the flow?

Again, to quote Peter Lakatos:

"Primal Move’s goal is to make changes through playful, beautiful and mindful movements. Through better movement you will be able to enjoy whatever you like doing in life. We want to show you the potential we all have in us, buried deep down.

Our goal is to move better through the unique mixture of unloaded and loaded mobility exercises, strength and endurance practice, while aiming to better movement at all time.

Moving more is not better. Moving stronger is not better. Moving faster is not better. Moving better is better, and we aim to move stronger, more and faster when we have already mastered better."

The Primal Move Fundamentals Instructor Certification Workshop
will teach you the following:

• Primal Move Basic Drills

• Primal Flow Assessment

• Primal Social Plays

• Concepts, methodology and philosophy behind the system

• Teaching the movements and creating forms

• Program planning, creating progression/regression plans

Primal Move is a system, where we have definite goals—help people to move better, so they can reach other goals, such as moving stronger or faster. Our instructor certification program allows you to learn the basics and even more.

What are the benefits of becoming a Primal Move instructor?

• You can advertise your classes, activity or facility with the Primal Move name.

• You will get a great amount of information, videos and more to help your activity.
