10/10 Goes Beyond The Gym Doors

By Dan E / Medford, United States

Salim taught me on more than just the physical level, how to achieve my goals. He was outstanding with his critique of my form and technique, and was spot on in his delivery of advice on how to hit my goals in the most efficient ways. Though I never served in the military, that was part of the draw to training with Salim. I knew of his background and also knew of the discipline it takes to get to his level. All you need is one session with Salim and you'll know what I'm talking about. Thank you Salim for all you did for me. Your teaching has carried on beyond our sessions at the gym.

10/10 Learn to Fish

By George Dunham / Cherry Hill, NJ, USA

You have probably heard the saying, give a man a fish and he will eat for a day, teach a man to fish and he will eat for a lifetime. When I met Salim I figured he was just another trainer that would "work me out" a couple of times a week. What I found was a unique training approach. Salim believes in teaching you proper technique that will yield max results and minimize injuries. His philosophy is to teach you how to work out and then you are set for life because you will have the knowledge and ability to create your own sets. When we began, he asked what my goals were and when I mentioned, long term physical fitness, he began me on a set of ever evolving calisthenics that have yielded significant results. Currently we are including kettle bells in the work outs which have added a new and exciting element to my training. Salim's diverse experience in multiple training methods guarantees that he can design a program specifically for you.

10/10 Brought out the best in my special needs son

By Andie Iannuzzelli / Medford, USA

Salim noticed my 13 year-old son who accompanied me to the gym. My son Nick isn't a typical 13 year-old, though. He has brain damage from epilepsy, and he is autistic. When Salim asked if I had considered placing Nick in the hands of a personal trainer, I thought he was a bit crazy (Salim - not Nick). Salim challenged me to give him a couple of months with Nick, to which I agreed. That was in December. Within two weeks, Nick was doing goblet squats with an 8kg kettlebell, and within a month, was showing interest in TRX bands. Salim was extremely patient with Nick, and relished in small but steady achievements. Nick's teachers began to notice that his verbal skills were improving within one week of beginning his workouts, and we saw ongoing improvements in Nick's strength, coordination, and speed. Six months after he began training with Salim, Nick won gold in track & field at the Special Olympics! Nick doesn't speak very well, but he DOES know how to say "Salim" and always asks for Salim when we drive by the gym.
An awesome experience for all of us!

10/10 Better than surgery

By Kathryn Cook / Cherry Hill, USA

Salim found me in March of 2012 when I was looking for a shoulder surgeon. I have had the same shoulder pain for 15 years and I had finally gotten to the point that that I was ready to go under the knife. Salim asked me to hold off on the surgery and try working with him. I was skeptical because years of PT had done nothing, but within a month or two of training with Salim I was able to sleep on my bad shoulder. I have been training with him for about 5 months now and I can't remember when my shoulder has felt this strong and been pain free. While he doesn't take it easy on me I know that his main concern is the correct execution of an exercise rather than just making me feel worn out after training. Salim has a keen understanding of how all of the body's muscles affect one another and he uses this to your advantage in training. I would recommend Salim to anyone looking to train seriously and safely.

9/10 My Hat Goes Off To Salim!

By Ben Comer / Medford, USA

Salim is a phenomenal instructor who practices what he preaches! He is a living testament to the effectiveness of kettlebell training. I trained with Salim after having worked with two other RKCs and I was immediately impressed with his style. He quickly pointed out flaws in my form yet provided constructive criticism to help me overcome my weaknesses. I admire Salim's military background and how he incorporates that approach when instructing. He helped me become stronger by drilling me on the Turkish Get-Up and giving me limited rest between sets. Salim took the time to learn about my experience with kettlebells before creating a personalized training regimen. He also worked within my schedule and tight budget! My hat goes off to Salim as I would recommend him to anyone who's serious about improving conditioning and gaining strength!

10/10 Old school strongman

By Moses Correa / Hainesport N.J., U.S.A.

Salim is an excellent trainer and one of the strongest guys I know pound per pound. I have had the pleasure of knowing him for about three years now and have seen him do some pretty impressive feats. If you want to lean out , get stronger or just build a well rounded fitness then Salim Poindexter is your man.

10/10 Great experience with Salim!

By Sean S. / Cherry Hill, United States

My training experience with Salim was great. He was very thorough in his teaching of various exercises and techniques. Additionally, his focus on goal setting really helped in the training process.

10/10 Straight forward teaching

By Gary Valencia / Manchester, USA

Salim focused much on the barefoot training which I value. There is a strong emphasis on functionality & proper technique which is what I need as a military/security contract professional. There had been are times which I had to work 12 to 14 hour workdays. On occasion I had to move in sprints, stand & sit long hours, moving equipment, climb up and down buildings while wearing body armor & carrying weapons. The physical training has to prepare you for such things. If you can deadlift 300 lbs, benchpress over 250 lbs and cannot run 50 meters to hop a fence or climb a rope then there is something wrong with your workout. The training is work and martial arts friendly. Being functional is the key.

10/10 His Ranking Should Be 11

By Sid Greenfeig / Voorhees, United States

Salim is the probably the best trainer I have ever worked out with. He has taken my training to levels I did not believe were possible. I only used to lift weights in the gym. Salim changed my whole out look on working out and showed me how a 35lb kettle bell could make me stronger then benching and curling free weights.

Before I started training with Salim, the thought of running the Tough Mudder was not happening. After 4 months of training, I completed the 12 mile 31 obstacles challenge in less then 2 and half hours.

If you are looking for the real deal in training and you are committed to getting yourself to a level of peak performance, Salim is your guy. I guarantee you will be hooked after one session

10/10 Kettle ball crazy

By Josh S / Marlton, NJ, Usa

I met Salim in May of 2011, at that time I was a typical 30 year old x athlete looking to gain back some of the endurance that had since left. I had no idea that the training regime he would place upon me would take me to another level. My indurance tripled in just 3 months and my strength returned from my playing days. The only thing I wish is that I knew about this training sooner!

10/10 Tough is not tough enough...

By Mike Yek / Collingswood, NJ, USA

Salim is excellent! I have not trained or exercised for eight years. I started with him in July of 2011 and just finished in the Top 5% of the Englishtown Tough Mudder. Need I say more?

10/10 If it were easy, everyone would train with Salim

By Philip Anagnostos / Delran, US of A

I have known Salim for almost a year. Even before I started training with him, he would come over and give me pointers to help modify my routine. I shortly started training with him afterwards and have been since. The way he trains is very motivating and focuses on my goal of performance enhancement, looking good is just a perk. I especially like the twist his military training puts on everything (although his music selection sometimes makes me think we are back in Vietnam).

Having military background myself, I am used to training tough. Salim trains just as tough, if not harder. Since training with Salim, things we haven't even worked on such as running, have even improved drastically. Also with the injuries I have acquired over the past (2 major joint dislocations and a bad ankle), I am able to discover new limits my body has that I did not think even existed.

Salim has motivated me to train harder, while instructing me on how to improve my technique and surpass my limits while being safe at the same time. He is not like most trainers who only care about the time you pay to see him, he even improves my training outside from the gym. In my eyes Salim is not just a trainer, he is also my friend.

10/10 Salim Poindexter recommendation

By Michael Regina / Cherry Hill, US

I have been under Salim's training for the past four months and he has taken my body to the next level with a variety of resistance and cardio workouts. His knowledge in the fitness field is second to none and I look forward to continuing my training under his direction. No matter what level you are at in your fitness he WILL help you achieve your goals.

10/10 Ultimate Respect & Humility

By Alisha Neville / Medford, USA

Having known Salim for more than 2 years, I am honored to now train with him. Salim is the epitome of professional and hardcore. His style of instruction and manner is direct, focused and correctively encouraging. I have been in the fitness industry for most of my life using various coaches, trainers and gurus. Salim is none of these. He is an absolute warrior.

My body has been transformed by Salims's instruction and guidance. I have While training with Salim you will challenge and reset the perceived limits of your own body. And be prepared to discover, as I have, that there are none but the ones we allow in the mind. These are eradicated too.
