10/10 RKC Success!

Phil was an one to the instructors at my HKC in late 2011, so when I decided to move forward to the RKC challenge, I went straight back to him for training. I could write that Phil is fantastic at this and fantastic at that, but you have already read all his other reviews that say just that, you don't need another. But this is what I will tell you, I passed the RKC at the Downingtown 2012 Challenge, and if I hadn't gone to Phil I would have only walked out with a certificate of attendance and no instructor T-Shirt. I was proud to let me teamleads know that Phil had been training me, and you could tell by reactions that he is a very respected member of the DragonDoor RKC family. I am going to continue to climb the ranks of the RKC cert chain, there will be no doubts as to who I go to for training preparation!

Over the last couple of years I have been with a lot of trainers. I met Phil a couple of months ago and WOW, what a difference. His knowledge of technique and why we do things is way above and beyond. I am a 50 year old man and when I met Phil I squated like one. Now I am squating like a teenager. It is almot unbelivable how far I have come in a couple of months.
This is defintly where you want to be.

I have spent years on diets and hours in gyms trying maintain my health and normal weight only to give up in frustration. Eight months ago Phil started kettlebell training sessions at my gym at work and I have been hooked ever since. At first I thought I would never be able to lift, much less swing a kettlebell. I now do that and so much more. Phil has taught me correct breathing and body movements, so I get results from a quality workout. I appreciate Phil's instruction at his studio in King of Prussia twice a week. The workouts are tough and intense. The results have been amazing. I am strong. My body is sculpted. Most importantly, my confidence has increased. I believe I can achieve my health and fitness goals...any goal.

I believe in Phil's instruction so much, that my 18 year old son is taking his beginner class. Even after just one month he is stronger and feels really good about himself. My husband is my next recruit.

I have been a client of Phil's for a little over a year. There is NO one like him, he is a true teacher and instructor. He is an excellent teacher always striving to make you the best you can be. He is always telling us you can do it and do it right. I have become a better runner and all around athlete because of Phil. I am in the best shape of my life and can perform better than ever. I have known Phil for a few years now and he is an amazing athlete and instructor. I have done some workshops with him and he is a top notch instructor. Watching him as an athlete is always impressive. He is a great strenghth athlete as well as a great all-around athlete. I have to mention his freakish vertical jump ability. I had the priviledge to assist Phil at the Oct. 2011 RKC Philly Certification. He has an OUTSTANDING personality, great attitude and very KNOWLEDGEABLE about Hardstyle kettlebell training. He definitely loves his job! I learn so much from working with him. I left the certification with more knowledge, confidence, and excitement in my training/teaching kettlebells. Phil motivates and provides great instructional feedback that produces better technique to those working with kettlebells. The other thing that stands out about Phil is that he is really easy to learn from. He keeps things simple and doesn't complicate things in his teachings. I strongly recommend working with Phil. I was fortunate enough to not only have Phil as my teacher at the HKC, but as my Team Leader for the RKC. Phil's teaching ability is second to none. He is tough on his students and expects a lot, but he cares enough that he wants you to succeed and will do everything in his power to make sure you do. His demonstrations are incredible (one of the best Turkish Get Ups you will ever see) and his verbal coaching is spot on. Phil's passion shines through in everything he does. Definitely one of the best teachers out there.

I had been training with kettlebells for about a year when I signed up for the October 2011 RKC certification in Philadelphia. To that point I had mostly been learning from books and videos so I knew I could use a little (alright, a lot) of help with my technique. As a personal trainer myself, I'm not use to going to someone else for help with training, but from the moment I met Phil I knew I was training with someone who knew his stuff. Phil was immediately able to identify problems with my kettlebell techniques and gave me multiple different cues to correct them (a trait that is essential in a good trainer). I learned more from Phil in our first couple of sessions than I learned from a year of training by myself. Being able to work with a Team Leader prior to attending the big weekend has been invaluable . So if you are training for the RKC and live in the Philadelphia area, training with Phil Scarito is a must.

Phil's workout is definitely far from ordinary, and that's in a good way. For Phil it's technique, quality over quantity. My 14 year old son has been attending Phil's classes for a year now and I have seen a change in the way he play football and baseball, recovery is a lot quicker than the other kids.

I am currently doing a weight loss program with Phil that has helped me lose 8 1/2 lbs. in two weeks. Phil is great to work with and is always thinking if different ways to improve the workouts he provides. As a person who smoked for 20 years and has quit for 8 months, Phil has helped regain my breathing and health back. Phil is always striving to be the best at what he does, a workout far from ordinary.

Phil is a great instructor, before this year I had no idea what kettle bells were until I started taking his classes and one on one sessions and I've seen a massive transformation in my performance and body overall. My running has improved greatly since I started and many things that seemed impossible like swinging a 70lb kettle bell were made easy because of Phil's great way of putting things across and helping you to understand that with the right technique you can do anything. I would highly suggest you try out one of his classes.

Phil is amazing! He not only pushes me past where I think I can go but he's there every step of the way. I have enjoyed lifting for a long time but never used the muscles Phil pushes me to use. Phil is a tremendous individual quite when he needs to be and lets you know whats up! i've been a martial artist over 25 years was an amateur boxer!a current boxing coach a private trainer a circuit, strength and power fanatic! i don't know phil that well,and got to know him a little bit at my 1st RKC level 1 cert. but i like his style! He doesn't play because he only wants the best of you! and i believe in that,your only as good as what you put out! Your clients,students,disciples are your best advertisement! he said he expects only perfect form always,remember and clients watch you all the time.and you have to be aware of every little movement. I first met Phil at his first workshop in aug. 09 I am from ny and wished I had lived closer to PA. so I could train and learn from him.
Its now september 2010 and on my 2nd attempt am now an RKC. Phil was my team leader and was unbelievable. His approach was spot on and got the most out of his students by being himself and keeping everyone relaxed in a very tense situation. Phil is a natural born leader and his rapid assent up the RKC ladder is a testament to that. If your from PA. you need to be training and taking phil's classes as you are very lucky to have him. Yup! I'll admit it-I was one of those people who said "kettleball"; that is until I met Phil and took his class! Now, I tell future kettlebeller's about the lingo, moves, what his classes are all about!
Phil is truly an exceptional instructor. He has the ability to train a class of ten people with ten different skill levels while still attending to each of their needs. Phil emphasizes the importance of breathing and form; one area of exercise that is often overlooked. As an exercise phys major I understand the importance and appreciate the time Phil puts into these areas. Like many others, it is hard for me to find time to exercise. Kettlebells allow me to exercise whenever I want, wherever I want. If you haven't tried it yet, you should! I highly recommend this class to anyone!

I have been training regularly in Phil's Kettlebell classes for about 8 months and should have sung him some praise long ago.

I came from a traditional weight lifting background and last year I found myself bored with the gym and the treadmill and couldn't help wondering if my muscles could actually do something besides look nice. I stumbled onto a Kettlebells class with Phil and it was one of the best things that's ever happened to me.

Phil's training methods are the perfect fusion of challenging strength and cardio training with Kettlebells, functional body weight exercises and movements designed to improve your overall co-ordination, flexibility and balance. He is an expert teaching proper form and technique specific corrections to help eliminate pain and the potential for injury. He has an unreal ability to deliver all this in a nice tight hour long package that will leave you feeling accomplished, energized and truly amazed at your own abilities!! Phil's passion for Kettlebells is so infectious he has inspired me to get my RKC certification as well.

So...can I do stuff with my muscles now?? You betcha!!

I knew Phil Scarito from his youtube before I met him in RKC philadelphia cert in Oct. 2009. In Korea, I and My students were learning a lot of things of hardstyle from his youtubes. Those were our important textbook. Finally I flew 25 hours and met him in philadelphia cert. Even he was our team instructor!. His hardstyle movements were precise and also judgement was exact. Learning from him was the Greatest thing in my RKC cert.

I had the pleasure assisting with Phil at the first ever East Coast Philly RKC Cert. It was my first time assisting, so I had questions about protocol. I have to say, Phil is one in a million. I needed to recertify for the RKC - needed motivation and direction and Phil came thru for me. I worked with him for about 2-1/2 months and he put me thru some tough workouts. His classes are intense and worth every penny!

Read thru the other reviews because they are all true- Phil is passionate about what he does and is an excellent instructor. And you get the bonus of him being CK-FMS (which everyone should do, BTW).

I had the honor of introducing this talented young instructor to the RKC in 2007. Within 6 months he had his certification. Within 8 months of that, he had assisted as a teacher at two certifications. He is now a Level II certified Instructor, and has performed countless man-hours of work to bring a full scale Dragon Door Russian Kettlebell Challenge Certification to Philadelphia.

Phil Scarito is the top RKC II Instructor in southeastern PA and will soon be promoted again, if his track record is any indicator. I am motivated to teach with him and pleased to have turned students over to him when I ventured west in 2007.

Phil will change your life. Most clients in their reviews above have touched on Phil's "tough guy" status. Saying how intense his workouts are and how hard he pushes you without you even realizing what is happening. All true!! But I am here to tell you that he has an even bigger "soft side". His heart is made of gold. He wants nothing more than to see you reach your fitness goals. He cares, really cares. This is not just a job for him. It comes down to this... Phil ROCKS! His workouts are as tough as tough can get but the time seems to fly by because he is always changing it up. His workouts are NEVER boring or monotonous. I have been working out with Phil for just a month and I was hoping to just see some results. I am already in pretty good shape but wanted to take off another 5 lbs. and tone up. In one month, I have lost 14 lbs., have a flat stomach and look long and lean. It is incredible. Phil always has a positive attitude and a genuine smile (even if you are shooting him daggers for how hard you are working). He is great with instructions, getting into the exercise with you if you need to see how it's done. I thought I would just have him train me for a month but he is addicting and I am most certainly going to keep training with him.

So.. after college and kids ... the 20 lbs got there and stayed there. I tried lots of different diets and my "own routine". A month ago I see a contest at my gym for the biggest loser and signed up after asking the staff "what instructor"?? I got the inside track that Phil was the man for the job and 30 days later and 17 pounds lighter - I feel like a new person . Phil brings great enthusiasm to the job and really motivated our team - even creating a BLOGSPOT for all of us to communicate and motivate each other . Job well done , Phil. Give Phil 30 days then you will be writing here ... even if your workout may include an occasional "BEAR CRAWL"...

Phil was an assistant instructor for team Nelson at the April, 2009 RKC in St. Paul. I was lucky enough to be part of team Nelson and to be instructed by Phil. The whole weekend Phil was motivating us and pushing us to EARN our RKC. Phil had great insights to any questions I had and was able to correct my technique when needed. I was in two classes recently where Phil was the instructor and he has the uncanny ability to fine tune a workout specifically for each person despite the size of the class. I didn't even know what kettlebell training was before three months ago, and because of Phil's training, I plan on making it my primary weight-training tool. He is able to make each class fun, new, and interesting, not to mention that he works you hard helps you get results. I would recommend Phil to athletes, people who are looking to get back into shape or rehab an injury, or those who are looking for a new and exciting excercise routine.

I have only been training with Phil for about 2 weeks now and I am thoroughly impressed! I have tried numerous types of workouts and the kettlebells workout is by far the best ever. I took a class with Phil in early 2009 through Main Line School Night (outside of Philadelphia).
He is an excellent instructor: he easily taught a class 10 newbies the turkish get up at the same time. Everyone had different skill levels, but Phil was able to cater to each individual and encourage them. At the end of the 5 sessions, everybody had a good grasp of the moves. Months later, I still hear him talking through each step in my head.
He will, very respectfully, whip you into shape.
If you have the chance to train with him, do - Even without kbells. I never thought that I could get such a workout with nothing else but body weight.

I met Phil Scarito about a year ago and began training with him on a weekly basis. I thought my previous training sessions were tough, well Phil brought a whole new level of training to the table for me and the others I train with. At first, I wasn't sure that I would be able to keep up with Phil's training routine, but after a month I realized I was getting the best workout I have ever received. I also went through the FMS screening with Phil and I was glad I did. The FMS screening showed me what I was doing wrong and how to correct it. Overall I would say that Phil Scarito is one of the best Kettlebell instructors I have ever had the privileged to train with.

All I can say is, I can't wait for my next training session. Is it time to swing yet?

Phil strongly emphasized the importance of proper technique and how it accelerates your results in a safe and VERY effective manner. I asked lots of questions in class, even during the drills, and he answered every single one without hesitation. The one thing he did that I'll remember for the rest of my life is the last drill on the last day of the workshop - he told everyone to give him their age in swings... and I still can't believe I gave him all 42! Thank you, Phil!

Phil puts together some hellish hard workouts with a few kettle bells and your own body weight. I've been training almost constantly for over 15 years and he had me beat. He changes it up constantly, drills you on technique and form, and then punishes you with some lung busting routines. That sounds intimidating, but don't fear, Phil is great at helping you find your own limit, not his. Great job, Phil and I look forwarding to working with you and Will again soon.

Trained with Phil for only a few weeks now, but plan on going back for more. He's motivating, knowledgeable, and a great instructor. Not just with the kettlebells, but with stretching and body-weight exercises I've learned something new every week. After one of Phil's workouts I always feel like I have accomplished something significant. Be it number of snatches, swings, (deck)squats, pushups, situps or time spent stair climbing or bear crawling, Phil's got a great technique for getting his students to the next level. I like being pushed to my limits and Phil does a great job of it. Phil seems to hate any rep number under 20 and on Inauguration Day his new favorite number was 44! I especially like that he takes the time to explain and demonstrate proper form (sometimes over and over again but always patiently and with a smile). Overall, Phil is a great instructor I would highly recommend.

No two classes are the same and that's the beauty of it. I've been taking Phil's class since the Spring of 2008 and I have dropped two sizes. The class is THAT intense; it's THAT good.

I have been taking Phil's kettlebells class since the beginning of the year and I am constantly impressed by the challenging workouts and the fun atmosphere of his class. Phil constantly pushes up to do better and I have noticed a huge difference in my strength and also in my technique with the bells. Also, it is amazing how each class is different from the one before--we do so many different things and the class just flies by. In addition to all the challenging workouts Phil designs for us, I really appreciate his emphasis on technique and doing everything correctly. I feel like I am learning something new each time. I only wish I could take one of his classes every day of the week!

Phil and I worked as assistants at the Oct. 2008 RKC. I was very impressed with his knowledge and ability to give the perfect instructions to students who were struggling with form and technique issues. He was friendly and supportive of all the members of our team. I have not taken one of his classes but you bet if I am ever in Pennsylvania I will make it my first stop. I bet he can put you through one killer workout.

Phil was an assistant for Team Jones at the October 2008 RKC certification. As soon as I met Phil it was clear he was on a mission to make sure all of his team was successful.

He gave clear direction and amazing insights in the finer points of kettlebell practice. I would not be an RKC today without Phil's patience and motivation.

I have been training with Phil once a week for 5 months. I am in better shape now than I was as a Division I NCAA 1 & 3 Meter Diver. His workouts are incredibly intense and I love every one of them! Kettlebell was completely new to me when I started training, but Phil is an excellent instructor with endless patience, which made learning easy. Each workout is a perfect balance of functional strength training and kettlebell set at a pace to keep you sweating and breathing hard the entire hour. Every session is new and different, so I never know what to expect, but I look forward to each one because I know it will be an awesome workout. Phil is a passionate trainer who is always learning new techniques to improve himself & his clients. He'll push you hard, but it's always fun. I HIGHLY recommend him to anyone who wants to look better, feel stronger and have a great time doing it!

I'm also a former Will Williams devoted kettlebell student and decided to give Phil a try after Will moved to California. I've been training with Phil 3-4 times per week since January 2008 and I can honestly say that I am in the best shape of my life because of this guy. I've dropped 20 lbs, have increased my lean muscle mass, and improved my fitness to a level I never thought possible. Phil trains the most addictive and effective combination of endurance and kettlebell training that is never boring and always guranteed to make you sweat and feel great. Because of Phil, I was fit and able to keep up with people 15 yrs younger than me on a recent hiking/camping trek through the Andes to Machu Picchu in Peru. I recently bought my first 16 kg kettlebell and am hoping to be able to snatch it by the end of the year. I know Phil will help me to achieve this goal, as he has helped me to achieve all of my other fitness goals. Give Phil's unique training style a try!

Phil is a great instructor, who excels in teaching classes and in personal training. He motivates me to do my very best each and every time, in part by keeping the workout fresh and exciting. I have been training with Phil since March 2008 and began using a combination of 8kg and 12kg bells. Through his excellent instruction and challenging workouts, I have now graduated to a 16kg bell for several exercises. In fact, in my last training session, I performed several rounds of squats and two arm swings with a 16kg bell in each hand! Phil is an exceptional trainer! Every workout with him is challenging and engaging, and never the same--he mixes it up and keeps it fun. Phil consistently pushes me beyond my comfort zone, motivating me to go further and work harder than I ever thought I could. He is very knowlegable about physiology and proper form and breathing.
Phil has been training me in KB for several months now, and when we started I could barely swing a 10 pound bell; these days I can snatch a 25 pounder! I originally started training with Phil to get back into pre-baby shape and literally couldn't do a sit up (no core strength after 2 C-sections!). I am thrilled to say that as a 38 year old mother of three, I can proudly wear a bikini this summer, and that's not a place I could have gotten to without Phil's motivation and exceptional training.

Training with Phil has been a true test of my endurance, I don't think he knows of a number below 20. His classes have been effective as well as entertaining. I simultaneously fear and look forward to his workouts. Phil's classes always push me to go further than I thought I could and much further than I could ever do on my own. I would highly recommend a DV8 Fitness class to anyone in the Philly suburbs.

I've only just begun attending Phil's KB classes after spending a year training with Will Williams and I have to say I was at first skeptical that anyone could live up to Big Will's standards. After attending my first class with Phil, I thought I would drop dead. I didn't know what hit me! Needless to say, I will keep going back and look forward to every class! Phil Scarito is lightning in a bottle! He has taken a core group of established Kettlebellers, who trained under Will Williams, and made us even better than we already were. To describe Phil's style would be "The Power & The Pain", we train with both individual as well as group goals.
Phil's motivation and drive gets us to the place we want to be. I am a three time Cancer Survivor who started back with Phil on 1/2008 at 252lbs 34% bodyfat after all of the treatments. I now, 6/2008, stand at 228lbs 20% bodyfat. I attribute a large amount of my comeback to the training I do with Phil and the rest of the DV8 crew.
