Doug Chapman has made me a better human.
It's a little hard to quantify, but his emphasis on building strong basics and form has allowed me to do things I probably would have never thought possible a couple years ago. I'm moving weights I would have never thought I could in ways I had no idea of. I scare/surprise myself sometimes, but it is this feeling that has boosted my fitness, strength and confidence immensely. I make a pretty long drive to get to his facility. Other people make excuses to not go to the gym, I can't seem to find one to not want to get there. I'm honored to receive training from him.

Doug is a fantastic teacher, and he's built an amazing facility and community. I've been going to Hyperfit since June, and I've never been able to sustain working out until now. Even though I'm working out harder than I ever have, and each individual workout kicks my butt, I look forward to going several times a week -- that has never happened for me before! Doug is an excellent motivator, and he obviously knows his stuff. I learn something new every time I'm in the gym with him. He always demonstrates the proper technique before we begin the workout, and then he keeps a close eye on us to make sure we follow through with proper form. I love that he pushes us to do our best, but he never criticizes as long as we are trying our hardest. My kettlebell form could use some work, but Doug won't give up until I get it right!

I competed in gymnastics and track throughout high school, and when I quit both of these when I came to college, I felt like a part of my life was missing. Working out on treadmills and stairmasters just wasn't cutting it for me. When I began training at Hyperfit USA this summer, I felt the passion for fitness coming back into my life, and I was immediately hooked. The motivating atmosphere that Doug creates has allowed me to train at levels that I could not even imagine on my own. During my first weeks at Hyperfit, Doug introduced me to kettle bells. My first encounter with kettle bells was very awkward, and they have not come very easily to me, but with Doug's instruction and frequent programming of kettle bells into our workouts, I continue to improve. Doug has created a place unlike any other that challenges clients every single day to work harder and be better than they imagined even for themselves.

I joined HyperFit less than 2 months ago and it has been GREAT! It is everything that I have been looking for. Great facility, excellent workouts, and of course Doug and his fantastic staff. I came into HyperFit with a bad arm and a separated shoulder and within 3 weeks all of my pain were gone!
Doug is a top notch trainer who has a keen eye for form and movement. He is an excellent coach who truly cares about his clients and their performance.
He has managed to build a great community through his gym and work ethic. He is very intense and one of the best motivators that I know. Just when you think that you have nothing left and the body starts to shutdown he will be in your face and somehow forces you to dig deep inside, both physically and mentally, to bulldoze through and finish strong.

Doug is passionate about fitness. He shares his passion with creativity, enthusiasm, humor, and high expectations. Doug expects us all to give our all every class, every exercise, and I love it! I am a convert to Kettlebell training and all the cross-training. Doug has something to teach and improve every class. I'm amazed with his precision - how he can fine-tune an entire work-out with one or two comments about technique. When I have a question, he will point out one muscle or position/form to shift and it brings me to the next level.

The workouts at Hyperfit are amazing, challenging, exciting,scary, etc. We are asked to push ourselves beyond the comfort level, and succeed beyond that beating our own best times, weights, scores,etc. The results are amazing.
Doug's skills at assessing form, strengths, and ability are exceptional. I have been to several training facilities nothing compares. We learn to "suck it up" and that's only meant in the best for you fashion. He really knows the Kettlebell skills and form. We use them in many different parts of the workouts.
In our discussions on life long health and fitness. I believe in the ability to "stay out of the nursing home" Strength, flexibility and ability to squat, get up and down. Life skills. Doug teaches and preaches them.

The workouts at Hyperfit are unlike anything else I've done at the many other gyms that I have been to. They are always challenging and you never get used to them. You start off fearing them, thinking that there is no way you'll get through it, you struggle through with the rest of the class (you suffer in silence), and as you become a better and better athlete, you start to crave them, you see results!
Doug has an excellent eye for proper form and knows each of his clients' strengths and weaknesses well. As a result of his high quality instruction, I am stronger and more fit than I have ever been in my life. I intend to stay that way.

May seem hokey to say, but working out a Hyperfit USA has been a life changing experience; and in large part because of Doug's training style. He instructs you in the movements, and makes sure you use good form so that you aren't injured. He motivates and pushes you to do better - more weight, more reps at every workout and you want to do it because you know that you can because he says so! All of the instructors are on the same page and make you work on form, and motivate you to do more.
KBs were intimidating the first couple of workouts with them; but they are incredibly addicting, and Doug makes it do-able.
Working out at Hyperfit USA is addicting; and has improved my physical strength and ability to levels I didn't think I had in me at this point in my life. The great thing is that not only do I physically feel great, but mentally am up to any challenge life throws my way.

Doug has an extensive knowledge of kettlebells, both the hard style and the competition girevoy sport methods. He has also been doing this for years, which makes him an effective and efficient teacher for both winners of the genetic lottery and aspiring former-couch-potatoes like me. Doug pushes everyone until you're snatching the bell out of a sea of sweat, but his continuing focus on good form keeps things safe even as the bells get heavier and the reps grow. His extensive coaching experience in a variety of sports allows him to see connections between physical movements, so that the lessons of kettlebell training cross-pollinate Olympic lifting and other sports. He's also always adding to his bag of teaching tricks and cruel and unusual exercises: sometimes it's a new technique exercise for the swing, sometimes it's carrying the guy next to you across the room in the KB Combat Conditioning Class.
Finally, Doug's gym is full of great clients and trainers like him. One of my favorite days last year was the early-morning Thanksgiving workout. There are also occasional post-workout BBQs. In short, it's hard to imagine a gym that I would want to go to twice a day if only I could bear it. Hyperfit is it.

He is always coming up with new ways to teach techniques in particular with kettlebells. When he sees something that can be improved, he does so. When I met Doug I always thought I was in pretty good shape. Sure maybe I was a couple of pounds (ok 20) overweight. Wow was I wrong! My first training session with Doug changed my life. I realized then there was a different level of fitness. One that conisted of strength, agility, and mobility. His combination of encouragement and ass kicking has allowed me to achieve levels of fitness that I never thought I could achieve. Especially now that I'm in my forties. I am an instructor of other sports. I came to Doug to be trained. I have never had anyone encourage me and challenge me to want more from myself. Doug brought out my determination and desire to want to train. His exercise knowledge is extremely broad and with great depth. I walked into Hyperfit, took one look around and thought, "There is no way a non athlete like myself could take on these workouts". Hyperfit members were not only doing amazing things but their form and execution of the excercises were like nothing I had ever seen. Doug created a program both fitting and challenging for a me. He asked great questions, many of them hard but necessary. Perhaps his greatest gift as trainer is his ability to meet you where you are AND move you well BEYOND that point as quickly and safely as possible. Doug is the best. His expertise and attitude are as inspirational and motivational as they are effective in communicating technique and knowledge. Doug's work-outs are fun and balanced. He consistently goes above and beyond with his clients. But Doug is so engaging that I tend to think of myself as more of a student than a client. He has helped me reach all of my goals including earning a slot as an officer at BUD/S, the Navy SEAL basic training course. What's GREAT about Doug is his ability to assess your current performance levels and continually coach you to reach new levels -- all in an environment of safety, respect, understanding and a huge dose of verbal encouragemenmt. Before I started working out with Doug and the rest of the Hyperfit staff, I rarely went to the gym. At best, I worked out a few times a month and even when I went to a gym, I did little except for run on a treadmill watching TV. I heard about Doug from a ROTC instructor a couple of years ago, and finally got around to meeting him in this September. I'm sorry I took so long.
I had no idea of Doug's resume, but as a overweight, non-motivated, 50+ year old, I appreciate the equal care he takes on instruction, inspiration and motivation. He gives not only the form/technique of the drill, but the reasons, the potential problems and their solutions. He has great timing on his mid-drill form correction, just when I start to get sloppy but before I get dangerous.
Looking back over the other comments I could probably say yes and Amen to all of them.
The team he has gathered appears to be cut from the same cloth as he is. They conduct themselves in a professional and personable manner, expecting your best and giving you their best.

My health and fitness have skyrocketed since I began training at Doug's gym. After several one-on-one intro session designed to help me get acquainted with his world, I thought the personal attention would drop off. It didn't. When I returned from a week away from the gym due to a slight injury, he wanted to know why. I said "I think I strained my hip flexor." He just nodded, but later on, that day's class warm up included a long round of flexor stretches.
When I was traveling for a week, he hooked me up with some workouts to do on the road. As a result, I didn't miss a beat in my training, and was able to return to the gym and pick up where I left off. The list of these kind of examples of Doug's professionalism and excellence as a trainer goes on and on -- he manages a busy, thriving gym seemingly without effort.

Doug is incredible as a coach and creator of fitness programming. He knows how to get everyone going, keep them safe, and give each person what he or she needs to improve. His knowledge of how people move is outstanding, and he is able to spot very quickly what an individual needs to work on. He takes the time to explain and demonstrate how each exercise should be approached, what risks remain for improper approaches, and what the long-term benefits are for engaging that exercise. Thereafter, it is all about motivation -- and he knows how to adapt his motivational styles for short-intense workouts as well as extended grinders. The result is not only in what you achieve in the gym, but how you feel and function as you go about the activities that constitute your everyday life.

I have been training at Hyperfit for almost a year now, and have also spent a significant amount of time training with Doug individually. During this time, I have gained a strong skill-base and a keen interest in perfecting form, both of which I can thank Doug for. It feels as though he is always coming up with new ways for us to get maximum benefit. His ability to work equally well with both elite athletes on the one hand and lay people like myself on the other is unique. I have been working out for many years at various places with various trainers/programs. Through all that time I had never heard of, let alone picked up a kettlebell in my life. Picking up a kettlebell can be a little unsettling for a beginner like me, but Doug makes it much less intimidating. Before a workout, Doug goes over all the exercises we will be doing, and makes sure everyone has good form with little/no weight. His corrections are eerily effective. I give Doug Chapman a rating of 10. I have been working out with Kettlebells under Doug's tutelage for a couple of years and have not had one injury. I do have sore muscles, yet no injuries. Doug started me at my level of ability or inability, stength, and clumsiness and continued to push and encourage from there. I am stronger and not as clumsy. Doug's instructions are clear,concise and demonstrated. He breaks the movements down into understandable and learnable chunk size. He continues to point out the mechanics and when I am doing the execise correct and when my form breaks down. I would not have continued this workout if the proof was not in the pudding and the proof is in the pudding. I have no plans on stopping. Thanks Doug,I am now a middle-aged strong man.

I've been attending Doug's classes for 5 or 6 years. Over that time I am constantly impressed by Doug's knowledge of body mechanics and his ability to quickly recognize errors in form and provide effective ways to correct them. I've had a series of injuries that have presented challenges to Doug to be able to adjust movements to both provide strengthening and prevent further injuries. Doug's approach has been particularly helpful in kettlebell routines which I use as both warm-ups and rehab strengthening exercises. As a result I am now able to complete most workouts and have improved performance in running and swimming.
