10/10 Changed my outlook on training

I was a 32 year old ultimate disc player who wanted to get more serious about playing my sport competitively when I heard about Cold from team mates. Having never done any weight training before I was nervous and unsure, but my experience with Cole has been amazing. After a few months of kettlebells I noticed a massive transformation in my body. I was stronger, faster and felt more confident on the field. More importantly Cole's coaching also game me mental discipline and focus that I never had before. I realized that Cole wasn't just teaching kettlebells, he was teaching a course on understanding my body and fitness in general and providing me with a better philosophy on training.

Cole is always constructive and positive in his feedback and he does a great job of channeling your natural motivation and drive. He made me want to get better and gave me the confidence to think I could do so. He always emphasized that proper form and attention to detail were more important than anything else. His attention to safety and form gave me confidence to push myself to new heights as an athlete. I can't wait to get back into the gym next off-season and see how much more I can learn.

I have played rugby for just about 30 years and have had the privelage of playing with Cole off and on during that time.

In 2007 I played my last rugby game and did nothing until the fall of 2011 when I reconnected with Cole and his kettle bell training.

As I said to Cole "I knew you for the past 30 years but I didn't really know you."

Cole is a very patient methodical trainer who analyses ones ability and breaks everything down to the bascis in order that you first train your mind and body to do the exercise correctly ( technical depth). Then once mastered you can move on to the next building block of the exercise.

Cole knows how to get into the mind of his students and how to allow them to positively get the best out of themselves be it a beginner or a world class athlete.

In all of my years of sport I have never met a more positive Life Coach/Mentor/Trainer.

Cole thank you for introducing me to Kettle Bell and your training. I know what I will be doing for sport/training the next 30 years ( or more) of my life.

Most of all thank you for being you, you are truly one of the nicest kindest people I know. It is a pleasure and privelage to be part of your training group.

Cole Summers is a top notch guy, ever since he has exposed me to kettlebells I have noticed improvements in both my strength and athleticism. Cole has helped me attain success in both judo and football. He is very dedicated as a coach and with that dedication he is able to drive his athletes to get the most out of every session. Despite the amount of knowledge Cole has acquired he still shows the will to learn new techniques and methods to better himself aswell as his athletes. Having trained with Cole I've had a highly motivated outlook on training and each day I came out of the weight room stronger, faster and more disciplined. Thanks a lot Mr.Summers!

Coach Cole has opened my eyes to a world I didn't know existed. When I met Cole I was a young student athlete, competing at high levels of hockey and rugby. I was comfortable in the gym and felt confident that I knew enough about working out to carry me through the rest of my life. I had been training hard for years under some great coaches and to that point had seen pretty good results of my labour. Enter Cole Summers.

In my first year training with Cole I learned more about proper weight training than I had up to that point in my life. It began with my goals. Cole requested a paper copy of my goals for what I would like to achieve by the end of the year. To that point I had never really had specific training goals - I just worked out because I knew I had to in order to compete. My goals that year? To become bigger, faster, and stronger by the next rugby season. Once we began, we spent hour upon hour meticulously going over the technique of kettlebell exercises. Before long I became comfortable enough with the bells to begin working towards my goals. In hindsight, Cole kept things pretty simple that year but it was just what I needed. Six months later I had packed on 12 lbs. of muscle, had broken every single personal record in the rugby fitness testing, and went from pressing the 24 Kg to the 40 Kg. The most astonishing thing for me though came when I stepped on the pitch that summer. For the first time in my life everything I had done in the off-season translated into appreciable gains in my sport. I would go on to have my breakout season securing a starting spot on the 1st Division side which would culminate in a Provincial Championship. Cole trained several of my teammates that year and was largely responsible for our success.

I would go on to train with Cole again the next year and the results were the same - I became a better athlete, a better rugby player, and a 2-time Provincial Champion.

In year three I changed my goals - I wanted to get stronger, and specifically I wanted to pistol the beast. No problem - Cole put me on an EDT program. By the end of the season I was pushing more weight than ever before and yep - I pistoled the beast. Our third championship in a row topped off the year and I couldn't wait to get back to Coach Cole to see where he would take me next.

Why is Cole such a good coach? The answers are numerous. To begin with, he has experience. Cole has been coaching Manitoba's best athletes longer than I've been alive. But experience alone isn't enough. What makes him unique is his desire to LEARN. Cole has traveled the world learning how to train and compete from the best. Even now he will attend several workshops each year and each time he does, he brings back new training strategies which he passes on to his students. This thirst for knowledge has definitely left a lasting impression on me. Cole is humble - if he doesn't know something he will ask Pavel or another RKC and get back to you with the answer. He is respectful - which results in a mutual respect between him and his students. Cole is patient - he takes the time to teach the proper technique, no matter how long it takes. He is adaptable - he will work with each individual to find the best way to reach their goals. Cole takes pride in all the accomplishments of his students - always quick to offer praise and congratulations with even the smallest gain. Above all else, Cole sincerely wants the best for everyone that he trains and it shows. Everyone who leaves his gym leaves as a better person.

After my fourth year training with Cole I was in the best shape of my life. The sky was the limit and I was hungry for the rugby season to begin. In the dying seconds of the first game I suffered what my surgeon would describe as a career ending knee injury. He operated two weeks later and over the ensuing summer I lost 20 lbs. becoming a shadow of my former self. I resumed training with Cole three months post-op with adjusted goals. In the four months since then I have seen a remarkable return of strength and function. I know I have a long way to go, but I also know that with Cole in my corner I've got the best chance to get there.

I am in the best shape of my life thanks in large part to the knowledge and expertise of Mr. Cole Summers. He takes great pride in his accomplishments which are the result of hard work and dedication. Imparting this passion and knowledge to others allows those who train with him not only to get stronger and faster, but also to become better individuals.
While other trainers give you a workout, Mr. Summers stresses that he teaches lessons. This means that instead of leaving exhausted and run down, he stops you short of failure. You feel invigorated, proud of what you just did, eager and ready to get back in to the gym for your next lesson. This was particularly important for me to learn. I used to train myself thinking that the more tired I could make myself the better. This led me to stress fracture my leg during a race. Mr. Summers rehabbed me with kettle bell training and taught me to listen to my body. I was able to recover very quickly without suffering any ill effects. I'm stronger than I ever was and the kettle bell training literally helped to bulletproof my joints.
I am indebted to his guidance and instruction and can't thank him enough for getting me closer to reaching my goals.

When I first started working out with Mr summers I was a little skeptical. The things he was saying i could achieve using only kettlebells didn't seem possible, but after working with Cole for 6 months I was proven wrong. I was training to make the Manitoba Under 18 provincial football team and after working with Mr Summers I made the team with no problem. I was stronger, faster, and more explosive then I have ever been. He helped me go from a weight of 225 to a solid 250 in such a short time and now i play football for the Winnipeg Rifels and all my coaches see great things from me thanks to Cole. Thank you for all your help Mr summers.

I began training with Cole in the fall of 2007 after hearing about his kettlebell classes from a few friends that had trained with him the year before. I had grown up playing soccer and being on the school track team, so I always thought of myself as being in pretty good shape.

As it turned out, I was not in nearly as good of shape as I thought and had no idea that Cole Summers and his kettlebell classes would change my strength and physic as much as they have so far. When I started training with Cole, I never have thought I would be able to squat a 28kg and do 3 chin-ups in a row. If it wasn't for Cole, I would not be in the best shape of my life and would have never reached the goals I have without his continued support, knowledge, and showing me that I have always been stronger than I thought I was.

I started training with Cole about 5 years ago when a friend of mine asked me to join a group of Kettlebell rookies at a local school twice a week. What started as just another activity to keep me busy turned into an obsession that has completely revolutionized my athletic ability and strength. Although I'd like to believe some of that is due to my dedication and focus, it is primarily due to Cole Summers tremendous knowledge and his selfless desire to improve the people around him.

I'm now part of an elite group of K-Bell "users" which is led by Cole. Every session is dedicated to learning and mastering fundamental techniques to improve strength. Safety is always a primary concern of Cole's which is re-enforced EVERY session and is proven by his flawless safety record.

The buzz around our small city of Winnipeg is rapidly increasing creating a premier K-Bell hot spot in North America... which of course we have Cole to thank!!!

I look forward to continually learning with Cole... both in mind and body. Bring on THE BEAST!!!

As a woman who has been a participant in the world of fitness for the past thirty years, I have been exposed to a great deal of incorrect information about women and training. The most commmon myth is that women need to do more cardio than strength training in order to be lean. Thankfully, I found Cole Summers who clarified fact from fiction. Cole introduced me to kettle bell training three years ago and I now spend less time in the gym with more quality results than ever before. Cole is an encyclopedia of knowledge, technically skilled, motivational, inspirational, and passionate about coaching. He is the epitome of whole fitness, and practices what he teaches. Cole truly cares about his trainees and is part of their goal setting process. He always knows the right thing to say on a bad day, and the right thing to say on a good day. Cole is especially sensitive to women in the gym and makes them feel comfortable and confident when working out. Cole Summers is a world class instuctor, mentor and friend, and I am deeply honored and grateful to train with such a fitness guru.

I have a PhD in pharmacology, and am in second year of medical school, so I have some understanding of the body and of the importance of exercise. While I was always active with sports, I hadn't ever set foot in a gym. Then I met Cole. I am naturally skinny, and over the past three years of working with him I have gained 10 lbs of solid muscle, and improved my strength by leaps and bounds. Now I'm one of those guys who is stronger than he looks, and it's all thanks to Cole.

Training with Cole is an education in how to get the most out of yourself. He is not only an expert in kettlebell exercises, but so much more. I have learned a lot about how to achieve fitness, strength, and speed from him. He also understands what kind of exercises suit different goals, and how to combine exercise with other lifestyle adjustments like diet to achieve maximum results.

Just as importantly, Cole has a fantastic attitude and approach towards strength training, which is definitely contagious. Through his knowledge and his attitude, Cole has setup a wonderful training environment where people can learn, work hard (but smart!), celebrate success, and respect each other.

Coming from a medical background, I also noticed how Cole would often offer fairly detailed physiological explanations about the exercises or techniques he was discussing and why they were beneficial. He would explain about muscles, nerves, and their relationship, and would sometimes get into bone density and metabolism. I really appreciated that Cole took the time to go to these lengths. Additionally, it also demonstrated how knowledgeable he is.

I left every session feeling great and looking forward to the next one. I have taken Cole's training to heart, and hope to maintain or increase my strength and fitness throughout my life. I have been very happy with my results, and I now feel like with his help the sky is the limit!

I started training with Cole Summers after hearing about him through friends of mine that play soccer and rugby. At the time I weighed 270 lbs and hadn't weight trained or worked out for years. I had tried and failed to get stronger and fitter at the gym in the past. I gave up on traditional cardio and machine based weight training because I lacked motivation and didn't see any results. Before I started training with Cole, I have to admit that the concept of kettlebell training seemed a little scary, and something that was probably more for athletes. I thought I would be in way over my head, but I could not have been more wrong.

From day one, Cole has been an excellent teacher and motivator. I walked in having hardly ever even touched a free weight. I'm sure my technique was terrible at first but Cole has always been very patient, attentive and excellent at helping me correct my technique. After the first class I remember being so sore I could hardly walk, but I could hardly wait for the next training session. In the past I've always hated exercise, but kettlebell training was something I really enjoyed. I'm sure that Cole's training and motivation was a big part of that enjoyment. I have just finished my third year of training with Cole and I have seen him work with many different types of people; athletes, non-athletes, men, women, young people to senior citizens. He is always very encouraging, energetic and passionate about his training. He loves to see people succeed and improve. He's an incredible teacher who will work with you to help you achieve whatever goals you set for yourself.

Thanks to kettlebell training with Cole, I am now in the best shape I've ever been in, I've lost 50 lbs of fat, doubled my overhead press and found myself the love of my life. There's no way I could have achieved these results on my own, I can't thank him enough!

Words can't describ what a change Mr.Summers did in me , I moved to Winnipeg 2 years ago from Israel. My main sport was basketball and join the basketball team right away and then I met Mr. Summers, and then the change that he made in me was outstanding ! 1 year training with Mr. Summers made me from a bench player to a starter line up in the "Garden City" basketball team (which we end up winning provincals finals 2 years in a row) and helped me to become faster, quicker, stronger, and most important, smarter. Thanks to Mr. Summers I became from a folish teenager to a mature respactful man. I cant even describ what a postive change my body and my mind made since I started working out with Mr. summers, I feel stronger then ever, and Im in great shape. Mr. Summers always has great stories to tell, which help me to learn about life, he also keep on learning new stuff all the time and then he share his knowledge with us. Once you start training with Mr. Summers you cant go wrong , you know you in good hands and that he will take care of you and give his 100% to teach you and make you better then ever, the work he does with the young kids in school is outstanding and I wish we had more people like Mr. summers in the city. Mr. Summers is one of the best people I ever met in my whole life, I have so much respact and trust for him, not only that I see him as my coach but I also see him as my role model, he set a great example to follow if you want to live right and feel great ! I first started training with Mr. Summers in 2006 but I was doubtful swing kettle bells around would work. Let me tell you, I was wrong, more than wrong, I was dead wrong. I have seen unbelievable results over the four years I trained with him. My speed, power, strength and endurance have increased exponential. I went from not being able to do even one chimp-up to 19. Cole Summers is one the kindest and helpful people I know. He knows so much about health and fitness it blows your mind. More importantly he himself is in excellent condition and has "been there and done it" which provides insight and understand at a whole new level. He has complete changed my life. Cole has taught me (without actually teaching it) discipline, respect for others and myself, and a lifestyle of physical and mental fitness that will be with me for my whole life. I am proud and honoured to have had the privilege to train with Cole; he has in essences made me the man I am today. I give him the highest recommendations possible. Before training with Cole, my entire view of weight training was out of whack; believing in the latest trends and anything that would give you a good burn. But quickly after meeting Cole, I had had all of that changed. Cole has taught me everything i know about strength training and kettlebells. I owe much of my athletic success to the things he has shown me. Always eager to help, outgoing, friendly, smart, caring and intelligent, all Cole has ever asked me for in return was my respect, and when it comes to that, he gets my all. Never in my athletic career have I seen a strength coach as knowledgeable, adept or focused as Cole. Cole helped me and my entire basketball team attain two back to back high school provincial basketball titles, making us one of few teams to do so in the history of my entire province. He still trains with me now, even after graduating, and has helped me with my CIS basketball career. He shows me new exercises, techniques, programs and places to get kettlebells that are very important to my success as a rookie for the University of Winnipeg. I would recommend Cole as instructor for anyone: man, women, old, young, strong, weak. He has not only been an amazing instructor, but also a friend over the years. Overall, a man with a wealth of knowledge, a passion for weight lifting and a truly kind hearted person. Cole Summers get my highest regards in every aspect and i would say that he is the best strength coach i have ever seen or had.

Not only has my strength increased but my overall endurance, power and especially confidence have attained levels I never thought possible. After playing rugby for near 14 years now, I have been trying everything I can to become a harder, faster player. After hearing from numerous people about kettlebells, I wanted to find out more and Cole Summers supplied it. I have recently finished a 6 month session with Cole and without out a shadow of a doubt he has transformed me. I feel stronger, faster and a lot healthier. Cole's vast knowledge and genuine personality delivered fantastic results for me. After being incredibly frustrated with the gym and not getting the results I wanted, Cole was able to find the strength in me I never knew I had. Cole's clear instruction, endless motivation and understanding of kettlebells, is what makes him a fantastic coach. Not only is Cole a great coach but he is a true gentlemen. He has made me the flying Scotsman and if you are considering starting kettlebells, then Cole should be the only coach you should consider.

I trained as a dancer for 7 years and never once contemplated doing weights. I heard of Cole through friends of mine who played rugby and thought it would be a new challenge and interesting to see where it took me. 2 years later, I am in the best physical shape of my life. Thanks to Cole, I am able to do 6 full chin ups from not being able to do even one before and my pressing strength has doubled, just to name a few. I am stronger than I have ever been and have never had such a toned figure. It is because of an incredible teacher like Cole that I am where I am right now. He is not only knowledgeable and enthusiastic, but he works closely with his students and the goals they set for themselves because he wants to see them succeed, reflecting his passion for what he does. He has certainly opened my eyes as to the potential that my body has.

I have played rugby since 1995. I have always been a player who has worked hard on and off the feild. As I got older my fitness goals changed a little from wanting to excel at rugby to wanting to get lean, hard and strong, and still be able to play if I wanted to. Training with Cole really helped me achieve my goal. During the time I trained with Cole I was the stronger and fitter than I had ever been. But it was a different kind of strenth. Kinda hard to explain, but if you have done kettlebell training before you know what I mean. Everything was strong, my core, my neck, my hands, everything. And when I did play I was strong and fast. I noticed my speed increase more than anything else. In addition to having a strong knowledge base, I also found Cole to be motivating, helpful and understanding. I would highly recomend Cole as a trainer to anyone who is serious about getting fit.

 
10/10 Amazing Results from a World Class Instructor

I began playing rugby in 1991 and I've always considered myself to be in pretty decent shape. I went to the gym fairly regularly and my training was pretty much a carbon copy of what everyone else in the gym was doing. My goal was to get bigger (by lifting) and get toned (by doing lots of cardio). I was putting in the time but couldn't figure out why I wasn't getting the results I wanted!

In the fall of 2006 I injured my back playing rugby. I herniated my L4/5 disc and was hospitalized for a brief period. Over the next year I packed on quite a few pounds and when I turned up for my first training session with Coach Cole, I was a flabby 245 lbs. I am now in my second season training with Coach Cole and I am probably in the best shape of my life. Training with kettlebells has gotten me the results I have always wanted quicker than I thought possible. As a direct result of Cole's knowledge and advice on nutrition and strength training, I am now a lean 210 lbs and I feel years younger.

Cole's training resume speaks for itself. Cole was one of the first to start training with kettlebells in Winnipeg a few years ago. In Nov, 2008 Cole traveled to Trinidad and introduced kettlebells to the island with glowing reviews. The knowledge Cole possesses (when it comes to training) is World Class. Many of the techniques and principles Cole teaches us are cutting edge. Actually, the majority of what Cole is teaching us won't be seen in most gyms for years to come! He is also very good at tailoring the training sessions to the particular needs/skill level of an individual. I look forward to every training session with Coach Cole. In fact, I've purchased a few kettlebells of my own so I can train at home if I miss a class.

I am a University Graduate with my BA in Kinesiology, so I was no stranger to weight training techniques, and information on general health and wellness. Well. It turns out my education was just the tip of the iceberg compared to what I learned from Cole. He is a fantastic coach, and never tells you to do anything without giving you a GOOD SENSIBLE reason why (which as a Uni. Grad is very refreshing). I am extremely thankful that I have had the opportunity to train with Cole, I've learned so much already. I can't wait until the next training "practice" to see what other beneficial information I might receive. I have seen amazing results with Cole and kettlebells, decrease in body fat, and increase in functional muscle, and a big increase in self confidence just by saying (who am I kidding, BRAGGING) that I train with Russian Kettlebells, and Cole Summers.

Before training under Cole I had lifted weights and played rugby for a decade and was a competitive powerlifter for 3 years. I thought I knew a lot about strength and fitness, and how to get the most out of my body. Long story short, Cole blew me away. He has an encyclopedic knowledge of training, nutrition, and overall health, and his attitude and personality make training fun and enjoyable. I come to every training session excited to be there, and when I leave I'm already looking forward to the next one. Above all, Cole wants to see his trainees succeed, and I've definitely seen results. The kettlebell training has made me stronger and faster, in a far shorter time period than I ever thought possible. Kettlebells have revitalized my training, and Cole has been a huge part of that. I'm now starting my third year of training with him, and thanks to Cole's dedication to continually updating his knowledge and methods, it just keeps getting better.
