I recently starting Brian's class for a change from my regular running routine which was starting to bore me and wear on my joints. I didn't know the first thing about kettlebells, but I was looking for a fun, challenging, total body workout to tone up and build strength, and I have found it! I was amazed at how uniquely his workout regimen combined cardiovascular exercise and strength training in a short time period. Brian is welcoming, patient, and extremely motivating. It's one thing to master an art, but it's another thing to be able to teach it so well. He focuses on proper technique, safety, and is able to provide focused attention on everyone in the class regardless of skill level. He kindly discussed with me my personal goals and provided me with reading materials/videos to build a better understanding of this training regimen. I couldn't ask for more from an instructor or workout routine and very much look forward to continuing his classes.

I had heard about Kettle Bells in various places and decided to find out for myself what all the "hoopla" was about. I have a 25-year-old sports injury in my shoulder, a loose hip joint, another old injury in my knee and I'm double jointed. Needles to say - it's been quite a challenge finding a full body workout that doesn't hurt or injure me.
Brian Shane is a knowledgeable and patient instructor. In a room of newbies he takes his time demonstrating the proper form and alignment before the students follow suit. The exercises look much easier that they actually are and Brian keeps reminding his student to "Ask. Don't hurt yourselves". In choosing the weight of my kettle bell I was a bit conservative considering my shoulder injury. During my first break, I was a bit surprised when Brian switched my bell for a heavier one - and it actually made the swing easier. Who would have thought?! And I had no issues with my shoulder - even days after.

I was looking for a new type of workout that would both be enjoyable and help me meet my goals. It looks like I have found it with kettlebells. Brian has a great attention to proper technique and saftey and still finds ways to challenge me. The structure of the class with each person working at their own level has brought a new enjoyable experience to group exercise. The sessions go by quick but I leave with sense of accomplishment. After just two classes, this is becoming a regular workout in my week.

I heard a lot about Kettlebell and wanted to try it out. So I signed up for a beginner Kettlebells workshop at the Yoga Garden with Brian as the instructor. I only had a few sessions with him, but I have found him to be very patient with a beginner like myself. Brian is very knowledgeable and teaches form, technique and safety with great passion and enthusiasm. Looking forward for more training! I would highly recommend any class Brian teaches.

After the classes at the Yoga Garden, I walk out feeling fantastic and like I immediately have better posture. It's a great total core and cardio workout. I wouldn't practice without Brian around, because he really knows how to safely and effectively work with kettlebells.

Brian was patient and provided very clear instructions for someone wholly unfamiliar with kettlebells. He provided individualized feedback to people with a range of experience, and encouraged everyone (while emphasizing safety above all else). His enthusiasm both for the sport and for teaching are obvious. Even though the workout doesn't seem particularly strenuous at first, it is very deliberate -- after just one class I could already feel the results. I would highly recommend any class Brian teaches.

I went to Brian's introductory classes, 4 in all, at the Yoga Garden in Narberth. I was unsure as to what to expect. I had never even picked up a kettlebell, but wanted to try something new. I actually thought I would get into the class and in the first class we would be tossing the kettlebells around and working up a good, fast sweat - wrong! Brian instructed us patiently and throughly as if none of us had ever picked up a kettlebell. It was exactly the way an introdutory class should be taught. I really enjoyed the 4 introductory classes and decided to continue with the Wednesday and Saturday classes. These classes give you a good workout. Brian is encouraging, he wants everyone in the class to work hard but, to do it properly. He is quick to pick up when someone is doing something wrong and corrects them in a gentle manner. I find Brian to be a consistent, patient and thorough instrutor. I have run for years, and take an other exercise class 1 - 2 times weekly, and I am finding that the kettlebell work out is exactly what I needed to add to round out my exercising. Thank you Brian.

I brought Brian on to teach at my studio, The Yoga Garden, because of the exceptional quality of his teaching. I wasn't sure I would like, or even be able to do kettlebells, but I quickly learned that Brian is great at meeting students where they are. I loved that he encouraged us to listen to our bodies and progress at a pace appropriate for each of us. Although they seem like very different practices, his approach was comfortable for me as a yoga teacher, as he is sensitive to the needs and abilities of each student. After being diagnosed with ovarian cancer earlier this year, I had major abdominal surgery & underwent chemotherapy. As I recovered I was looking for something that would strengthen my core and improve my overall fitness level. I certainly found that in Brian's kettlebell class. I participated in his 4 week beginner's workshop and am now attending his Wednesday & Saturday classes. I have found him to be an excellent instructor who is focused on teaching proper form and safely performing the exercises. He seems to recognize when you need extra attention or encouragement and when you're ready for additional challenges. He has definitely motivated me.

I had never taken a Kettlebell instruction or class that was not from a Dvd. Brian's classes have been a wonderful alternative to frustrating videos where instructions are unclear and you have no idea if you are doing the movement properly. Brian is very patient with new students, yet challenges them to get a full workout. He strikes a great balance between teaching the basics and still pushing your endurance and testing your strength. As a new student I feel safe learning the basics of something so new yet still experiencing a really great workout. I can't wait to take more classes!

When Brian got down on the floor of a restaurant to demonstrate the Turkish Getup, I knew he was passionate about his work- I had to take a class with him. He is a true teacher: patient, affirming and thoughtful in his approach. His love for the bell is contagious. ..and it doesn't end at the session's close. When I became pregnant, Brian researched the best ways for an expectant mom to continue the bell.

In search of something to help get me back in shape after baby #3, I happened upon Brian's class. I had never heard of kettlebells, but having tried everything else I was willing to give it a shot. It only took one class and I was hooked. Brian's patience and ability to balance my needs as a beginner with those more seasoned was fabulous! It's been about 4 weeks now and I faithfully attend 2 classes a week and actually look forward to going. Each week he's introduced new technique and skills continually emphasizing safety and form. Brian has always given me the feeling that not only can I learn how to do kettlebells but excel at it. In my first class I could hardly swing 10 pounds. However Brian's enthusiasm and encouragement never made me doubt my ability to succeed. Brian has a way of working with you that lets you go at your own pace yet also challenges you without ever feeling pressured. I can now swing up to 35 pounds and know I will be able to do more. He is very knowledgeable in a variety of kettlebell exercises and has the expertise and patience to train you. I have a few health issues and have felt stronger and have more energy since I started doing kettlebells. And it is fun!

I am new to Kettlebell workouts and have been taking classes with Brian Shane for 6 weeks now. He is a great motivator who inspires you through a challenging class. Brian is very positive and guides and supervises you through correct form and technique. The class is engaged and Brian inspires you to do your best. I leave the class feeling great and wanting more. 3 times a week has been my consistency and I could easily take more classes. I have built up core strength in very weak areas. Brian is very knowledgeable and shares many different exercises using the kettlebells. It is worth the time and commitment.

His enthusiasm is amazing and it rubs off on his clients as well. His classes are challenging,motivating, painful(in a good way),but fun. Brian came in and did a session with our basketball team and our players immediately bought into it. After seeing how excited they were to use it, I decided to go out and buy a bell for myself. I did almost exactly what he recomended for our team, and tried my best to use the form that he discussed. The next morning I woke up with my hamstrings feeling like they had been through hell. The ENTIRE workout I did took 8 minutes (30 seconds on 30 seconds off with the swings). Great workout and great teacher.

Brian did a great job with my high school basketball team. His teaching style is intense but not intimidating, and he is able to communicate some difficult techniques in a clear manner. Thanks for the terrific teaching. We learned a great deal about kettlebells and how the bells can be incorporated into our daily workouts. We have used the bells in our workouts, along with the stretches and other exercises Coach Shane taught us. Coach Shane did a fantastic job of explaining each exercise and what the purpose was. Coach really took time to demonstrate, review, and correct each exercise. He also showed us how to utilize the bells in our daily routine. Overall, it was a great day with the bells!

Amazing sets of workouts, i learned how to get a workout in, in less than 20 minutes that will improve my strength and condition for years to come. Made it seem very simple even though it really wasn't. Brain is a great instructor we have been using his drills every since and they are giving us great results. It was my first time with the Kettlebells and he didnt just introduce me to them but he tought me the right way to use them. We appreciate what he did for us me and the Kean 2009 basketball program are very thankfull for his help.
