Certified Indian Club Specialist
Workshop Praise—April 2010, St Paul

Dr. Lauren Evans, RKC, Studio City, CA

As a Chiropractor, daily I fight the constant battle of our computer/desk and/or flexion dominant population. The CICS workshop provided me another set of tools to add to my collection of ways to help improve not only my patients' dysfunction (s), but my own. Indian clubs are a restorative tool to repair our shoulder girdle and thoracic spine and they are fun and playful. Thanks!

Quality -> all Dragon Door workshops are elite, well thought out and the perfect amount of material to feel accomplished and not over-burdened while losing technique/form.

Scope of Material -> "just right", anymore and you lose form and precision.

Practical use -> Indian Clubs should be used for shoulder girdle restoration daily because "our world" breaks us down.

Ricardo A. Nieves, MD., RKC Team Leader, Fort Collins, CO

Very useful information for any trainer, therapist or provider working with clients to increase shoulder mobility integrity and stability. It was a great experience.

Liz Gilinger, RKC, Phoenixville, PA

Every time I come to a Dragon Door Certification, I am once again humbled! The Indian Club Specialist Workshop has enabled me to look and approach the function of the shoulder girdle differently! I am excited to bring this knowledge to my clients.

Dragon Door exceeds my expectations every time! I am once again excited to bring my clientele the best of functional and rehabilitation in the industry!

Mark Toomey, RKC Team Leader, Reno NV

The CICS workshop is the next logical step in Dragon Door's and The RKC community's continuing progress in teaching proper movement. The concept of "moving well" before "moving rapidly" dovetails perfectly with the RKC's teaching of technique perfection creating superior strength.

Everything flowed very well, I am very happy investing this time and money.

Rich Kocher, RKC II, Poughkeepsie, NY

The workshop gave me a much deeper understanding of the finer points and technical aspects of the Indian Club.

The workshop was amazing!!! Anyone thinking about doing it – don't think about it! It was very informative, I highly recommend it.

The quality was outstanding. It is the quality I have come to know and expect from Dragon Door, the RKC and all the other certifications I have attended from Dragon Door. They didn't disappoint.

As a personal trainer and kettlebell instructor for a living, I rate the workshop as one of the best I've attended in terms of quality of instruction and practical usable skills that you leave the workshop with.

Michael Sliviak, RKC, Sandy Lake, PA

Another homerun!! Dragon Door consistently presents the best and most knowledgeable instructors to be found. After focusing so much on strength, the Indian Club as a restorative tool helps complete the circle. The safe and proper teaching of Indian Clubs will be a great asset to the RKC community at large. Another door opened and old paradigm broken.

It is hard to believe that this is the first CICS course because the quality and flow was exceptional.

Diane Salettel, RKC II, Bedford, OH

I've been waiting for this for a long time. I've always been fascinated with the clubs but never knew where to find instruction.

Dragon Door always offers only the highest quality of master instruction and material. That's why I keep coming back for more.

Lena Caroselli, RKC, Collegeville, PA

This workshop was full of information and very educational it reinforced how important the technique of training was in the 1800's and early 1900's. Considering I thought this workshop was going to be very difficult and hard to learn – the teaching was superb and made it much easier to understand. I still have lots to learn but with the training I received this weekend it will help me in my daily progression and practice of Indian clubs. I can't wait to improve and teach our clients. Love this style of training it is amazing how poor mobility is in this day – due to current ways of training & our lifestyles. I always meet great people through Dragon Door every time I attend a workshop – the camaraderie is amazing. I feel lucky to be part of this elite group.

All were amazing and extremely knowledgeable – very pleasant and helpful. I appreciate all of them taking time from their schedule to teach us this weekend. Thank you. Thank you all for a great weekend.

Jim Hooper, RKC, Huntington Beach, CA

Inspirational in ways that made me excited to share with members of my facility, family and friends. The circular methods and corrective strategies gave new meaning to shoulder restoration. It felt like a workout from the inside out, a connection tissue pump if you will.

Another wonderful experience with a way of better understanding human movement patterns. Loved it.

Dustin Rippetoe, RKC Team Leader, Guthrie, OK

The CICS workshop was a tremendous opportunity to improve my physical abilities. My clients will benefit greatly from the knowledge and principles explored this weekend. Dragon Door has gifted trainers of all levels with a workshop enabling the rare principle of restorative physical education to take the base from.

Trainers of all levels would benefit greatly from taking this workshop.

Cecilia Tom, RKC II, San Francisco, CA

You can't learn from a DVD. Well worth the trip, and my body loves the training. I think my clients will welcome the addition of clubs to their program, because it adds circular movement and coordination to their existing KB routine.

Carolyn Hakes, RKC II, Naperville, IL

Another great experience with Dragon Door. The Indian Club workshop helps me with my knowledge in becoming an all around better instructor. As a RKC, I know have another piece of the puzzle to aid me in my teaching.

All of my training as of late, has been with Dragon Door. So it is always top notch. This CICS workshop was not as physically demanding as an RKC, but it was mentally demanding with all of the movement patterns.

Gus Petersen, RKC, Denver, CO

The workshop was extremely well planned and execute. I thought the 5 basic techniques were the perfect volume of information to present.

David Ebert, RKC, Franklin, TN

The CICSW is a great experience to teach me now to use a tool that will enhance my shoulder mobility. It also is a very good assessment tool for hip mobility as well.

Brett Jones made it very relaxed to learn and allowed everyone to know we are on this journey together. Nice job on the manual. The other assistants were very helpful too.

Alex Verdugo Jr., RKC , Chula Vista, CA

One of the best intellectual and physically demanding workshops I have been to.

The knowledge was outstanding. The views back my beliefs of traditional physical training.

The quality of training was great. For a person who loves strength training this helps me keep and restore my fluidity of movements and mobility.

Andrea Du Cane, Master RKC, St Paul, MN

Fun, practical experience, allowing the group to break down the movement.

Cole Summers, RKC, Winnipeg, MB, Canada

The CICS has inspired me to practice and incorporate Indian Clubs in my own and my students training. An excellent addition to HardStyle kettlebells training.

Exceptional instructors. I highly recommend the CICS training to all athletes and coaches.

Outstanding. Brett is a great instructor, professional with a "down to earth" personality. Always extremely informative and helpful, in and out of the formal sessions.

The CICS workshop was like all the Dragon Door workshops I've attended, a first class event. Professional, thorough instructors who care and want to spread their great knowledge.

Phil Scarito, RKC Team Leader, Norristown, PA

The workshop not only gave me a better understanding of the history of Indian clubs, but it has given me yet another tool to use on my clients. Indian clubs improved my shoulder mobility and co-ordinations, which will in turn help my power lifting and kettlebell training.

This is why I came back 2x's a year. Their knowledge and instruction is the best!

I have not been disappointed with any Dragon Door event. RKC and everything it represents is how we should live one lives.

James Neidlinger, RKC, St Paul, MN

Excellent, good pace, top-notch instruction. Brett provided a high quality return for the investment.

The CICS will have an easier end-used transfer to multiple population groups. This is a tool that while simple is versatile in its exhibition of skill grace and utility.

Julio Anta, HKC Instructor, Miami, FL

It was an awesome experience. I learned new moves. I will have to go back home and practice to perfect these moves after 6 years of doing them in a different way. It was great to also meet some of the top fitness professionals.

Michael Zealand, RKC, Lynchburg, VA

The Indian Club weekend inspired me to always challenge my personal abilities – both physical and mental and learn how I can pass these benefits on to the next generation (my own 4 kids+) so they can experience the freedom of movement and the fun that goes with it.

Brett did an amazing job putting this together. I know he had help but I feel his work at personally learning the form and a system to pass it on was well done. Thanks Brett.

Jeff O'Connor, Master RKC, Talala, OK

Super-Duper awesome.

This is a home run, I think that once this gets streamlined and some momentum it is going to be an integral part of the system.

This workshop should be a mandatory part of any education. However, since it obviously won't be, those who chose to learn and implement the skills provided here will truly separate themselves from other trainers. Even trainers in the most elite training system available, the RKC.

David Whitley, Master RKC, Nashville, TN

The use of clubs as part of the RKC system is a great component of the relaxation and mobility side of Hard Style. It complements the super joints aspect of our system very well.

100% pure grade RKC HardStyle Dragon Door quality.

This is exactly the kind of stuff we need to have available to emphasize that "Hard Style" is not all tension, all the time, but that it includes joint mobility and relaxation-based movement as well. Super Joints, Fast and Loose, etc. now have the clubs in their family.

Peter Lakatos, Senior RKC, Budapest, Hungary

Elegant, movement perfection, detailed. The course was way above what I expected. Brett's teaching style definitely makes easier to absorb the material.

Very unique and high level training.

Robert Vogel, MD., RKC, Lynchburg, VA

I could never have figured this out from a DVD (I tried)

I have attended a CST seminar and this experience fills in my historical and movement experience with clubs. It was synergistic to the club bell experience, which was complementary to the RKC I had taken first.

Nicholas Hendrick, HKC Instructor, Garland, TX

It was a wonderful experience with excellent leadership in a beautiful city. I can't wait to learn more.

Fantastic. Just enough coaching and great perspective on skill development etc.

Great bang for the buck and very valuable.

Kerry Timko, RKC II, Thunder Bay, ON, Canada

The course was great and I would highly recommend this course to others who want to further their knowledge of training. This system offers many benefits which are second to none for optimal shoulder, upper back and spine mobility. I also look forward to the benefits of the remapping of my neuro system the club swinging will give.

This whole workshop will be very beneficial to me personally and for my clients and athletes both to improve shoulder and upper spine mobility as well as the restoration properties it will add.

As the population ages, this from of exercise will become once again a key ingredient for joint mobility and improving the plasticity of the mind.

Christopher Lindquist, RKC, Turnersville, NJ

The CICS workshop introduced the basic fundamentals of Indian Club practice and then provided ample time to perfect the basic movements. It was made clear that working with Indian clubs is an art, which will continually develop with improving skill. The fundamental of teaching others this art was also well covered.

The CICS workshop was a ground breaking introduction to the ancient art of Indian Club procedure. It was a high quality workshop which provided the tools necessary to perform and teach Indian club practice with progressing variety and precision.

Brandon Hetzler, RKC, Nixa, MO

Great weekend. Again a ton of information presented in a manner that anyone who attended should be able to apply on Monday. Physically it wasn't very demanding, but mentally it was draining.

There is no comparison between any Dragon Door event and any other type of workshop. They could – and should take notes on how it needs to be done.

Melody Schoenfeld, RKC, Pasadena, CA

I learned a LOT about the clubs, about how my body works, and even about the history of physical culture. As a result of this course, I have at least an inch and a half more flexibility in my shoulder reach. I'm really excited to build on what I've learned huge and have another great tool to help my clients reach their goals.

Brett, as always, is a great presenter and teacher.

There is no question of the practicality of the clubs. From sports to rehab to high shoulders and more, this stuff is useful to almost everyone.
