Praise for the Strength Calisthenics Certification™ — New York City, NY, March 2016

Sean K Fay, Seattle, WA, Entrepreneur

Athletic Achievements 4 years competitive TKD; state champion 1991

I loved my SCC experience! Al and Grace were the perfect instructors who delivered real & practical knowledge about bodyweight training that I can apply right away. Best of all, they did it with humor and fun.

Master Al Kavadlo – Very knowledgeable, confident, funny, engaging and an example of practices what he preaches. Al commands respect by sharing his knowledge without ego – but with humility, demonstration and expertise.

Grace Kavadlo – Very knowledgeable, motivating, upbeat, positive and another shining example of an instructor who practices what she preaches.

Together they were Dynamite! Great Program, Thank you! Sean K. Fay

Athletic Achievements RKC 2011

This was a great overview of some of the core calisthenics movements to increase strength, mobility and balance. I will be able to apply principles and techniques I learned today into my personal practice as well as my work with clients.

Al & Grace are an amazing team and balance each other very well. Al offered helpful suggestions for variations of techniques in order to assist with progression and maintain a sense of calm and grounded knowledge that inspired me to try (and nail!) new things.

Grace is strong and encouraging and also made suggestions for improving technique that made a big difference in understanding the skill. Very high quality trainers.

  1. I experienced several successfully executed exercises (particularly headstands and full bridges) for the first time, due to cueing, prep exercises (wall dogs!!) and hands on support.
  2. I saw the links between different exercises and modifications in a new more comprehensive way (Archer pushups, Cossack squats, etc)
  3. I received several valuable cues and pointers for exercises that I could already do, which will improve their quality.
  4. I saw a wide range of techniques executed correctly by the instructors and other students.
  5. I had a great peer coaching experience with my workshop partner and learned several ways to help others work through particular problems.

This was a fantastically informative, valuable and encouraging experience ever for someone with very little body weight exercise background.

Al and Grace were great on every level, from demonstrations to discussion to coaching. I learned a ton and set some personal records.

Nicholas K Fay, Seattle, WA, Student

Athletic Achievements Boxing experience, 6 months of Convict Conditioning

An enlightening experience for coaches, trainers and athletes alike that offers specific techniques, movements and strategies to have the best bodyweight training experience. Turns working out into less of a to-do and more of a fun experience to look forward to. As a young athlete very passionate about bodyweight training it inspired me to take my training to the next level.

Both Grace and Al Kavadlo were super helpful, inspiring and great to be able to work with. Their help was very specific, clear and can be taken with me in future training.

Al & Grace have an extensive knowledge of the body’s movement patterns and how to address weaknesses. Both are very encouraging and make you feel good about succeeding a particular exercise.

The SCC forces you to become one with your body. Patience leads to success.

Both Al and Grace were patient and professional. I would highly recommend this class to anyone interested in learning about bodyweight exercises.

Learning from Al & Grace is an unbelievable experience and something I did not want to miss. I am very happy that I attended the cert. I got the knowledge I want to leave with and more.

The knowledge that Al and Grace have is top notch. They are friendly and very informative with their field.  You can feel the passion they have for the SCC.

The quality of the SCC was unbelievable, I came in knowing exactly what I would get and I’m leaving with more.

Whether you are new to strength training and/or calisthenics, this SCC course is a great refresher or the perfect foundation to build a program around for yourself or your clients.

Al and Grace are Pros! They can not only demonstrate each movement to the highest level but also are able to teach/coach you through it.

SCC is a much more hands on course than the previous certification I have completed.

Strength Calisthenics is engaging in aspects beyond just muscle mass and strength. It is gaining an understanding of how to use and engage the FULL body in order to MOVE the entire full body. It brings awareness to not only strength but the bio-mechanics behind using strength and body weight to actively engage in the process.

Al: Was extremely thorough in his explanations and direction in how to progress.

Grace: Very knowledgeable in how to use what you have (Strength) from one skill set in order t move forward to the next.
