Taylor Lewis grew up in the Central Valley town of Hanford where he tagged along with his four brothers who played baseball, soccer and basketball. Being the youngest of the Lewis brothers they helped instill in him the passion and drive that he’d later use for his playing career and his transition into performance training. Baseball is his passion. When it was time to decide what sport to play in high school, baseball was the right choice. Taylor’s success pitching for Fresno City College (8-0) in 2005 led to a scholarship to Sonoma State University (SSU) where he became the team’s closer from 2008 to 2009 and received the honors of all west regions player of the year in 2009. After graduating from SSU with a Bachelor Degree in Kinesiology, Taylor continued his education and completed his CSCS,PES, RKC, and CK-FMS certifications after returning to Fresno. In Fresno, Taylor started the Academy of Total Performance. He developed peer relationships with premier Strength Coaches including: Dan John (Strength Coach and consultant to multiple MLB teams and military personnel), Eric Cressey (consultant for New Balance, multiple professional MLB teams and owner of Cressey Sports Performance), Mike Boyle (BU Hockey, Red Sox consultant, and owner of MBSC), Sean Skahan (Anaheim Ducks Strength Coach), Brad Jellis (Dallas Stars Strength Coach), Mike Potenza (San Jose Sharks Strength Coach), Marin County’s Bobby Aldridge who have been mentors to him since 2011. In 2009, Taylor joined the Fresno Monsters as their Strength and Conditioning Coach, helping them reach the playoffs from 2009 through 2012. During that time, he also worked with sports teams at Clovis North High School, youth travel baseball teams, travel soccer teams and additional sports. In the 3 years he worked with these organizations, 95% of his athletes were healthy for the whole season, and 5 of those teams reached the postseason playoffs. In 2012 Taylor returned to the Bay Area, moving to Marin County where he finished is Masters Degree and currently works as the Director of Sports Performance and Adult Fitness for Academy of Total Performance (ATP). At ATP, he monitors all onsite athletic programs to ensure clients and staff are up to date on the latest new training techniques and athletic performance research. Taylor also found the love for working with adults with Cystic Fibrosis, and he is currently working with researches down at Stanford Medical to develop structuralized fitness programs on the quest to find a cure for CF. He also consults with multiple local high school baseball teams, has written for Max Muscle magazine, Breaking Muscle and On Target Publication and continues his professional education speaking/attending conferences and seminars nationwide studying the latest information on training, fitness and motivation.

10/10 Taylor Knows his stuff!!!
By Nathaniel Lovell / Fresno, USA

I first learned about kettlebells about a year a half ago, and with Taylor's help was able to quickly take my kettlbell game to a high level. As a fellow personal trainer, he also provided me with a lot of knowledge on technique which helped me bring kettlebells to my clients who are seeing great results. His instruction is second to none, and not only does he provide you with the best kettlebell exercises for your specific needs but he explains why and how to perform them to keep the body healthy and inury free. I HIGHLY reccomend Taylor as a kettlebell instructor for people of all ages and experiences with fitness. His knowledge of the subject matter as well as passion for the kettlebell movement is what really separates him from the field.

10/10 Taylor Rules the Kettlebell
By Lael Boyer / Fresno, USA

Taylor is an excellent instructor of the Kettlebell. He exemplifies a high level of conditioning, strength and flexibility. He gives straight forward, positive, and energetic instruction. Taking his Kettlebell class was the perfect way for me to learn the basics of handling the Kettlebell properly and safely. Training with Taylor one-on-one was where I learned much more. He would observe my form, then have me critique my own form before giving me his suggestions to improve. This was a great way to get me to think thoroughly about what I was doing. He helped me correct my snatch form with a few words helping me understand what to do to change it and perfect it. He also gave me specific exercises to improve shoulder and thoracic flexibility and strength. He rules Kettlebell instruction!

10/10 Kettlebell workouts are FANTABULOUS!!
By Melissa Mikel / Fresno, USA

I never knew there was such a thing as a kettlebell and am so excited to have been introduced to it. Taylor ensures that we are using the proper form and techinque with even the simplest moves. His work outs are so diverse and there is never a dull moment during the kettlebell workout. Not only does he have a phenomal indoor kettlebell training but his use of kettlebells along with stadium stairs provide a maximum calorie and strength enduring workout!

8/10 Liking the Kettle bell!!
By Linda Banda / Fresno, CA

Took my first Kettle bell class this morning. It was a great work out. Very different from a Zumba, or an aerobic type of class. Taylor did a great job of explaining the routines and made sure to correct our postioning when we were doing it incorrectly. Enjoyed the class will definitely return for future classes.

I will be telling family and friends about this new type of workout.
