Tasmania's first and only Progressive Calisthenics Certification qualified instructor!


After completing a Bachelor of Behavioural Science majoring in Psychology and Sociology in 2015, and then a Bachelor of Arts with Honours in Criminology in 2017, I decided I want to focus on a career pathway that helps both the community and personal trainers. This is one reason why I started Training Buddies, which is a local business that facilitates personal training services and free community health and fitness events. We currently have an official website under development - - so stay tuned!

I personally know that progressive calisthenics can greatly improve both an individual’s physical and mental health, regardless of their age or background. The infinite regressions and progressions to bodyweight exercises means that it is one of the best ways to improve your strength, agility, mobility, stability, and flexibility!

My passion for progressive calisthenics and Training Buddies has also led me to actively campaign in Tasmania to have the Hobart City Council build an outdoor gym at Long Beach in Sandy Bay. If you would like to support this campaign, please sign the petition at:

10/10 A breath of fresh air and highly recommended!

Evan's professionalism, knowledge, motivation, and support are second to none! His experience - combined with his university studies in psychology and behavioural science - make him a well-rounded mentor and trainer. I now have a new understanding and appreciation for progressive calisthenics (bodyweight exercises). This is because Evan’s coaching and training methods have helped me realise that you do not have to lift heavy weights or even enter a gym to improve your strength, fitness, and overall health. Furthermore, using bodyweight exercises allows you to build a balanced physique in a way that has minimal injury risk - this makes it perfect for people of all ages, abilities, and backgrounds. I will definitely continue to train with Evan and I would highly recommend him, and his business named Training Buddies! Thank you!
