The Essential RKC II Program Design and Mastery of Core Kettlebell Lifting Skills
|
Presenting an advanced, in-depth study of
the next level of RKC training—by the “founding father” of the modern kettlebell movement
As a bestselling author and widely-acclaimed strength and flexibility expert, Pavel Tsatsouline has spearheaded the Russian Kettlebell revolution first in the US and now globally with an RKC network that includes the UK, Europe, Canada, Japan, Australia, New Zealand, Singapore and South Africa.
Pavel Tsatsouline is a former Soviet Spetsnaz PT instructor, a nationally ranked kettlebell lifter, and an S.M.E. to the US Department of Energy nuclear security teams, the USMC Force Recon, and the US Secret Service Counter Assault Team, amongst others.
As an RKC, you have already exposed yourself to the power of Pavel’s kettlebell teachings…
And as an RKC, you also know that it is Pavel who single-handedly brought kettlebells from total obscurity in modern America to a national sensation…
Now, you have a chance to access advanced kettlebell knowledge and skills that will catapult you into the top echelon of kettlebell trainers worldwide.
The first level of kettlebell certification (RKC) gave you the skills to perform and teach the fundamental and most crucial lifts in the kettlebell repertoire.
The RKC II curriculum will give you the skills to perform and teach what Pavel considers the next most important set of kettlebell lifts.
Pavel will spend one whole day with you ensuring that you master the Jerk and Long Cycle, the Pullup and the Pistol. Brett Jones will teach the Bent Press and Andrea DuCane the Windmill.
Pavel will begin by giving you the essential RKC II Program Design:
- Discover the vintage kettlebell training template from Tsarist Russia
- Learn the intricacies of Strength Exhibition Training—the most advanced RKC
- free style workout based on old-time Russian gireviks’ training methods
Dramatically improve your pullup power with the unique Pullups by Pavel™ methodology.
- Understand why the bodybuilding pullup technique is not appropriate for athletes and learn the alternative
- Learn how to channel the power from you abdomen and hips—like a one-inch punch, without kipping—into the pullup
- Master the secrets of the “hollow position” critical for having a strong pullup finish—and power in combat sports
- Learn how to make the pullup an exceptional abdominal exercise
- Learn how to up your pullup power with the Russian hanging leg raise

Master the Pistol
This Spetsnaz favorite cannot be beat as the #1 drill for leg strength, explosive power, mobility, and resilience.
- Master the pistol in record time with an accelerated pistol mastery program built from the RKC front squat
- Learn how to troubleshoot the typical problems such as a limited range of motion, the knee strain, a short waist, a large stomach or thighs, and the inability to maintain balance
Master the Jerk and Long Cycle
There is an opinion in the Russian spec ops community that hard work on the long cycle C&J is all one needs to be in top shape for an elite military unit.
- Learn the hard style jerk specifically designed for high power applications
- Master a safe shock absorption technique that happens to be one of the best known builders for the lower quads
- Dramatically improve your sports agility with a special second dip technique
- Understand what you must do to avoid motor learning confusion between your jerks in presses.
Master the Windmill
The windmill is a powerful drill for shoulder and rib cage mobility and an excellent stretch for the hips.
- Learn safe and effective windmill technique
- Get a tool kit full of lead up and remedial drills
Master the Bent Press
It is hard to find an exercise that does more for the upper body than the bent press. An incredible lat builder, the bent press also develops shoulders extraordinary in their mobility and resilience, and powerful triceps. A great big bang exercise.
- Learn safe and effective bent press technique
- Master the proper strength and mobility progression and lead up exercises for this advanced drill
"If I were to recommend one Physical Training program to develop a Marine's overall strength and fighting capability, it would be one prescribed by Pavel Tsatsouline. His exercise principles are well researched, easy to implement, and focus directly on a functional end-state: high caliber efficiency. From hoisting his beloved Kettlebells to Janda sit-ups to one-legged squats, results are declarative… stop looking for a better piece of equipment or diet supplement and get 'Pavelized.' —George H. Bristol, Lt. Col., USMC, Commander, 3rd Reconnaissance Battalion, Founder Marine Corps Martial Arts Program
"I've personally utilized nearly every other system available over the years and have come to the conclusion that Pavel's program is the most effective program out there right now. It's both simple and sinister... I'm still angry that it took me this long to figure it out." —Name withheld, United States Secret Service Counter Assault Team Instructor
"The exposure to this method of physical training was outstanding, as was Pavel's method of instruction. For tactical operators the use of the kettlebell… is the best form of PT I have experienced." —Name Withheld, Instructor, U.S. Secret Service
"You can't get this stuff just from books and tapes.... Pavel is all about nuance. Very tiny changes in position, grip, muscle recruitment, tension, and a myriad of other skills all conspire to make dramatic improvements in our kettlebell work and basic strength. An incredible seminar…" —Eugene R. Allen, Pierce County Sheriff's Department SWAT Team
"I am a police officer for the Port of Seattle police and I am a member for Valley Special Response Team (SWAT). I have been lifting weights for over 17 years for conditioning and I have noticed that my body is slowly starting to ache, and not in the good way. I have been having problems with my back that has come from years of weight lifting and years of grappling (Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu). I perform some leg exercises such as squat, deadlift but only with a belt. Even using light weight, I would still wake up the next day with a sore lower back that would last a couple of days. Using your methods and performing the exercises as you instructed me, was the first time that my back was pain free, but my glutes, quads, and hamstrings were sore. I am sold on your system!" —Steve Courtney, Seattle, WA
Sponge up Pavel’s advanced kettlebell training tips—and the sky’s the limit for your RKC skills…
Pavel’s section alone will earn you back ten times or more the freight for this seminar—if you have any clue about you. If you feel you’re about average as an RKC instructor, with average RKC skills, here’s your chance to make the jump to exceptional… If you feel you’re pretty hot, then prepare to be humbled and elevate yourself to even greater heights.

Andrea DuCane is the author of the bestselling and highly acclaimed Kettlebell Goddess DVD and was featured in Pavel’s From Russia With Tough Love DVD and book. “Thank you so much for helping me to set a plan to reach my fitness goals.
After training with kettlebells with your help I have developed so much power in my tennis game that was not there before. As a result, I was able to advance to the Minnesota Class A State Tennis tournament in singles for the second straight year and now I have made the college team at St. John's
University. Prior to meeting with you, I had been doing kettlebell lifting on my own at home for about six months, but after the lesson my form and results have improved SO much! There are so many tips that you told me in such a short period of time...every minute was truly worth it. I must say, I am extremely excited and motivated for the future. Thank you for giving me so many tips and inspiration to get so much stronger and better!”
—Neil Koehler, 19, New York Mills, (St. John's University) MN
“It was a pleasure to meet you at the Olympia weekend in Vegas. Thanks so much for taking the time to talk and coach for a few minutes even though you were very busy working the booth. Your tip about arching the back has helped my one-leg deadlifts. Best of all, when I got back home I tried out your idea of "punching through" to finish out the snatch, and I finally got the hang of it. Cool!
One of the fun things about the Olympia weekend was an opportunity to see what people you see in magazines or videos look like in person. Unlike many of the bodybuilding and fitness "personalities" at the Olympia weekend, you look just as good in person as you do in print. You're a terrific example of what women can really achieve through a healthy lifestyle and effective fitness program.”
—Michelle Kilikauskas
“Thanks for that good class today. I am grateful you can allow me to go at a pace I can manage. It must be tricky to have people at all different levels of capacity. Somehow, even with everyone doing different stuff you still manage to notice when my elbow is not straight...”
—Catherine Pruszynski
"I greatly appreciate the thought and technique that Andrea applies to her kettlebell classes and passes onto her students. Her approach and attention to detail along with the refinement of movement she advocates is what makes her an outstanding instructor. For me, it is all in the detail and execution, and Andrea accomplishes that and more. I always look forward to gaining a deeper understanding of strength through body mechanics in each class."
—Marty Larson, Stott Certified Pilates Instructor

4) Why professional massage is usually NOT enough to deal with myofascial problems
5) How to use myofascial self release to deal with length tension relationship imbalances.
6) How to use the foam roller to identify and release myofascial restrictions in ANY muscle in the body.
7) When and where you should NOT use the foam roller.
8) Myofascial self release as workout modality. Engage and work the abs, back and shoulders while opening up the restricted muscles.

“Outstanding, just when I thought this could not be topped, more info and more principles come out. It just kept getting better. In terms of quality, scope and practical use it cannot be beat. A whirlwind of information given with hurricane intensity—I highly recommend this course to RKCs.”—Jon Engum, Martial Arts School Owner
“Motivated me to achieve excellence of a higher level in training and linking the finer points in all forms of strength & conditioning.” —Mandla Ares Nkosi, Strength & Conditioning Trainer
“Next to the RKC it was the best training experience I have ever had. It was a dynamic mix of new and old material moves with some challenging workouts that will strengthen my own training as well as my clients for years to come.”—Michael Krivka, Martial Arts instructor, S&C Coach, Tactical Training Consultant
“With the exception of the RKC, this training course provided the best material and quality if any course I have taken in physical exercise.”— Mykola Machnowsky, Systems Architect, Martial Arts instructor
“Really helpful experience that helped pull together my RKC experience with my martial arts teaching. Much more intense than my RKC cert course.”—John Heinz, Blacksmith, Martial Arts Instructor
“Premium instruction and knowledge from Pavel and the Senior RKCs— this course takes the RKC to an entirely new level. The quality of knowledge and instruction taught at the course is incomparable to any other course I’ve taken. If you want to understand principles with a solid foundation for ‘why’ they are the way they are, take this course.”—Brad Nelson, Strength & Conditioning Coach
“It was so inspiring! After the RKC cert last April it’s hard to imagine the instructors could be any bit better than they were then. The pearls of wisdom fell unstopped! The level of knowledge and experiences is just amazing. Pavel’s section was so amazing and informative to me. The others also lend an amazing amount of expertise and wisdom from each of their individual areas. After RKC cert, this was just icing on the cake. Wow!”—Donna Hughes, RN-critical care (ICU)
“I enjoyed going beyond the basics in this class. There were so many new tricks I can take home to vary my workouts. From all of the training I’ve done in the past, these guys are simply the highest quality and they are all inspiring. All having different backgrounds and knowledge, they make a great team.”—Samantha Young, Student
“My skills and understanding of the core principles were deepened. The basics were reinforced, and also applied to a variety of new KB exercises and applications. Pavel and the Senior RKCs and their course have set the precedent and been absolute highlights for me.”—Chris Alhquist, Business Owner
“It was a great blend of instruction. I took something from each session that I will quickly so and apply to my own training and training of others. As always, the quality of instruction was superb. Each instructor has a talent for breaking things down and simplifying them. It makes learning and retaining the information much easier.”—Catherine A Imes, Programmer
“Took my knowledge of KB training to another level, while improving my basic KB skills. Taught me new & improved ways of instructing KB exercises. This course was top notch. I still found it extremely beneficial for a RKC who wants to enhance his/her KB skills.”—Jim Milkowski, Co-Owner Personal Training Studio
“The best seminar yet. All the instructors were extremely knowledgeable in their areas of expertise. Very helpful, answered all questions friendly with a hint of sadism. I have been through one RKC and helped instruct at two others in addition to attending numerous MA seminars and this was the best. The format of easy/moderate/BW followed by hard KB work and then backing off was very well coordinated and enabled me to maintain my stamina/endurance and complete the course. In coming to this seminar I was dealing with bad tendonitis in both elbow and other smaller injuries. I wasn’t sure I would be able to all the work but because of the pacing I was able to do it all with minimal problem with the injuries. Very well constructed and executed course. I look forward to more!”—Dave Randolph, IT, Martial arts instructor
“Incredible seminar. I learned more drills and techniques here than I ever could from watching a DVD. I will take the material that has been presented here and use it to make my job as a Law Enforcement Professional safer and much more effective. I would recommend it to every cop out there! Every Instructor was/is a 10. 1st rate. Very professional, approachable. I can’t say enough about them. This blows away anything I have ever done in the military or Law enforcement. Absolutely fantastic. Everything was 1st rate. The material was fantastic – I will be digesting all this for a very long time. I feel very lucky to have been given this opportunity to train with these instructors. Great time.”—H.V., Massachusetts State Trooper
“Brutal. Much tougher than standard RKC certification. I hurt everywhere. My CNS is fried. Nothing random about the course. Everything taught had a specific purpose. I had a great time. I can’t say enough. The instructors were outstanding. I saw them in March at the convention. I never tire of learning from them. This course definitely extends what was learned at the initial RKC.”—Dennis Krammerer, PMAS
“Outstanding training. Wish I could repeat weekly! All the instructors were extremely knowledgeable in their areas of expertise. One of a kind, top level training. The scope and depth of knowledge and teaching ability was incredible. I am inspired. Thank you so much.”—Ammon Barron, Truck Driver
“It was an amazing amount of technical information, conveyed very directly, yet with a high degree of depth, but always rooted in the principles of the RKC. Highest quality presentation I’ve seen from each of the instructors.”—Tom Corrigan, Firefighter
“It’s not RKCII – its much more – more informative, more pain, much more intense. Better than RKC. Excellent quality, material – practical uses are self-evident. This is what I was hoping to experience/learn and then some. Great workshop. Well worth the money.”—Chuck Halbakken, Business Owner
“It blows away any other type of certifications in its complete practical application. Most organizations you get certified with, you just read the book or manual, memorize it, take a test and your done. IF you pass you’re now a trainer. Here you are required to show what you learned to prove that you know it.”—Joseph M Pavel, Printer/Fitness Entrepreneur
“This course was practical and immediately useable to enhance the ability of any person involved in police, military or other martial field. The knowledge poured out was incredible and was make understandable by top notch instructors who are definitely experts.”—Robert Bersi, Police Officer
“It was intense – no brutal! But also thoroughly educational. Simply: it was well worth the money and the time…. And the pain. The practicality of the instruction was unparalleled. The material was mostly original and was very thoroughly explained by the SRKCs. I personally have never attended any other type of training program as diverse and practical.”—Kurt Wilkens, Burglar alarm technician, martial arts instructor, personal trainer
“The most concise, educated and applicable approach to strength training for military and police personnel anywhere. I don’t believe there are any instructors more knowledgeable or effective in the world. Outstanding!”—Gus Petersen, Personal trainer
“Helped me strengthen my weakness and minimize my bad habits. It’s great being around similar people. I will come back every year. Pavel and the Senior RKC team is truly the best. Thanks you!! Practical use is where it conquers over any other system of exercise.”—Craig Sjostrom, Personal Trainer
“Practical use is very high, an area where other seminars lack. Very hands on, again, another area where other seminar lack. Personal attention and a down to earth environment make for a great learning atmosphere. Approachability of instructors and organizers is very valuable also.”—Jason Brown, S&C Coach
“The training goes well beyond combat applications. It is essential for anyone whose lifestyle demands a high level of physical performance. Each instructor is outstanding in their own way and have their own idea of excellence but each compliments all of the others because of principles and commonality of training. Their knowledge is extensive, but more importantly each is fantastic at sharing it. It can’t be compared with other training. I’ve never experience anything of this caliber.”—Jeff O’Connor, Firefighter
“Gave me a whole new set of exercises, a new understanding of workout structures and more in depth understanding of the martial art of strength training. I feel much more confident in training my sport fighting clients.”—Joshua Hillis, Personal Trainer
“A hands on training seminar which elevated my vision for hard-style KB applications, reinforced the basic principles and allowed the Senior RKCs to teach in their respective areas of specialty. It was much more hands on than the RKC seminar, and it let the instructors cooperate more. There was very obviously more cohesion between the senior RKCs and very smooth transition from one period of instruction to the next. I feel I can begin to teach everything I learned right away. There was a lot covered, but no information overload. I love this shit!”—Will Williams, Personal Trainer
“Reinforced the high level of excellence, experience, and knowledge provided by the instructors. Far beyond any other workshop, especially in level of presentation and knowledge.”—George Edward Spears, Yoga teacher
“I have deepened my level of knowledge in RKC training more than I hoped for. Pavel and his Cadre did an excellent job teaching us about ‘combat specific’ training. Better than my RKC course.”—Chuck Fair, Information Systems & Airborne Infantry
“This is clearly the most incredible program that I have ever experienced as an athlete and sports medicine professional.”—Michael Stehle, Athletic Trainer
“This training was very in depth with the principles and an incredible experience. The course taught so much about kettlebell lifting and how to apply it to motion. All of the presentations were incredible. They all had different styles and showed great knowledge and skill on their subjects.”—Brent Miffitt, Mason Laborer

The business rewards and personal results from attending Pavel's Russian Kettlebell Challenge Certification have often been spectacular… but whatever you have achieved so far, imagine what you'll be able to achieve after taking
RKC II Certification …
"I have been a personal trainer since 1987, and frankly, I've never seen anything like the excitement generated by Russian kettlebells. This age-old art has infused my business with a new level of passion I've never seen before, and it's spreading like wildfire.
Let's start with the financial benefits. I've more than doubled my personal training income since becoming Russian kettlebell certified, which has enriched my career as well as my personal life. This past Thanksgiving I was actually able to leave the gym behind and whisk my wife away on a rugged 2-week trip to Costa Rica, something that simply would not have been feasible before.
December 2004 was one of my busiest months ever. Business was up, and clients were in a generous mood. My wife couldn't help but note the huge increase in holiday tips I received, which nearly covered the cost of our Costa Rican adventure!
"What do you attribute it to," she asked. "The economy isn't that great." I immediately summed it up in one word: "KETTLEBELLS!"
The bottom line is, my clients were feeling generous because they were grateful for what they'd gained (and lost!) over the past year! I've had incredible results across the board with all my clients, male and female, since kettlebells entered the picture.
One of my longtime clients lost 26 pounds in six weeks. His sister and her husband, visiting from Ireland over the holidays, were totally amazed at both his fitness level and this odd "new" form of training.
A newer client lost three dress sizes and really toned up in the span of two months that she had to prepare for her wedding.
A masseuse called me to inquire about kettlebell training because she couldn't help but notice the change in muscle tone our mutual client had achieved.
Success stories like these—and there are many—made for a lot of very happy and fit clients with a renewed interest and commitment to training.
Needless to say, these kinds of results also brought a lot of new business my way last year. I now have a physical therapist sending me clients because of the improvements he's seen in his patients' strength and mobility after sending them my way.
"Beyond the professional gains, Russian kettlebells have really benefited me on a personal level as an athlete…"
"I am 46 years old and have pursued a very rugged and adventurous outdoor lifestyle for as long as I can remember. As a result, there were a few old injuries that had really started to dog me in the past couple of years.
Since becoming RKC certified, however, things have changed. I have made amazing strength gains, but perhaps more importantly in terms of improving my quality of life, I have increased the flexibility and joint mobility in my hips and shoulders tremendously. Both have been invaluable in terms of increasing my enjoyment of rock climbing, skiing, and hiking, not to mention improving my performance exponentially!
My endurance, strength-to-weight ratio, core strength, static strength, grip strength, and flexibility are all markedly greater than before I started training with kettlebells and incorporating Pavel's other techniques.
Pavel has a way of cutting through the B.S., and he gave me the essential information and techniques that work, both for my clients and for me personally. No question about it, becoming a Russian Kettlebell Certified Instructor is the best move I have made in 18 years as a trainer."
—Gus Petersen, RKC, Denver, CO
My income has nearly doubled since taking my RKC cert, all without any extra investment in time (from about $30,000 to $60,000).”—Jason C. Brown, RKC, Roslyn, PA
"I'm a training specialist for the Florida Dept. of Law Enforcement.
Since attaining RKC status, I've been able to train the head Officer Survival Instructor in kettlebell techniques; and have also convinced him to add kettlebell workouts to our Special Agent Training Class.
As a result of implementing kettlebells in our training regimen, I firmly believe we are creating a safer and more resilient cadre of Special Agents for the protection of the citizens of the State of Florida. I don't believe any of this would have been possible had I not attended the RKC Certification Program!"—Craig T. O'Connell, FDLE Leadership Center
"Since attending the April 2003 Kettlebell certification my business has expanded to the point that my wife and I were able to open up our own Fitness Facility in La Jolla , California in November of 2004.
Our business was expanding so much last year, it didn't make any sense financially for us to stay at the gym we were renting space from before we opened up the center. I highly recommend that any strength and conditioning coach, trainer or fitness enthusiast take the Kettlebell Certification as it will clearly give you the edge you need to stand out in your community." —Franz Snideman RKC, La Jolla, CA
"I am the owner of a physiotherapy practice and strengthening is an integral part of recovery. Unfortunately, I have found that most conventional strengthening systems are impractical for most of my clients for various reasons. I had excellent results personally with kettlebell training and felt that it would be applicable to my clients as they are available in a variety of weights.
Like most everything I have experienced from DragonDoor, the course exceeded my expectations. Since the course, I have successfully used the kettlebells for rehabilitation. I have also run up to three classes per week after work hours at a local gym because of the buzz that has been created. I should note that there have been no injuries in the past year and a half since I started teaching, which is remarkable considering many of my students are also clients who have been recovering from injuries.
Although I have never advertised these classes, I am already busier than I want to be with teaching due to the word of mouth generated by my students. This exposure certainly hasn't hurt my physiotherapy practice either.
"At last I can offer my clients a time-tested and effective anti-aging fitness program rather than vaguely telling them they need to strength train and stretch daily."
The kettlebells have solved my previous dilemma of effective exercise prescription and I truly believe have started a lot of people who otherwise would never before participated in an exercise program down a lifelong path of better health and fitness.
I now feel like I am a complete health care provider with the skills I can pass along a kettlebell instructor."—Keith Weber, BScPT, RKC, Red Deer, Canada
