10/10 Steve is a great instructor

By David Egan / Collingswood, USA

Steve was one of my instructors at the Philadelphia RKC September 2011. He was great with specific and detailed instructions. He helped me clean up my form and gave me confidence in my ability to pass the test. He was awesome. I would recommend Steve for anyone interested in learning Kettlebells the right way.

10/10 Three In One - Approach, Equipment, & Instruction

By Brian Gill / New York, USA

Over the past few years, RKC has come to mean a great deal to me. In my approach, my equipment, and my instructors, those three letters have provided a benchmark for quality. Admittedly, some people may be more interested in having those three letters on their business card or website (Is anyone else looking at YouTube or the internet?). Fortunately, Steve isn't one of those people.

With a firm grasp of the RKC's kettlebell, free weight, and bodyweight protocols, Steve capably shares this information. One would be challenged NOT to improve their technique, their teaching, or their insight into the RKC methodology after training, or simply observing a class, with Steve. Oh yeah, you might even break a sweat too!

When considering the facility that he has developed, Kettlebell Daily, a class with Steve becomes even more enticing. Kettlebells, barbells, and bodyweight equipment are neatly organized throughout the sizable facility and, yes, the beach view IS that impressive. This can come in handy when weaning the typical health club or gym member off their mirrors.

This review would be amiss if it didn't include the fact that Kettlebell Daily is also the Northeast's only distributor of RKC kettlebells and other Dragon Door products. After complaining on the Dragon Door Forum for years, trolling Craigslist and eBay, paying inordinate shipping costs and, worst of all, using inferior kettlebells, finally having this equipment available (within two hours of NYC) is indescribable.

Steve was an assistant at the 2011 RKC in Philadelphia. During the three day event, as a member of Team D. Ross, I had the opportunity to appreciate several aspects of his teaching style. This appreciation increases, after visiting Steve at Kettlebell Daily.

The bottom line is that Steve's experience, equipment, and facility make him invaluable to both the RKC community (particularly in the Northeast) and myself. However, the analogy of the old bull and the young bull do not apply. Steve isn't that old and I'm not that young BUT, I am definitely bullish in recommending Steve as a qualified RKC instructor.

10/10 The Best!

By Jenny N / Stratford, USA

I have been consistently going to Steve for training at Kettlebell Daily for about five months now. I had belonged to a commercial gym for about 8 years and even had a personal trainer or two during that time. Never have I experienced with those trainers what I do with Steve. He is fantastic at what he does, is knowledgeable in so many areas and a great person on top of all of that. Steve pushes me when I don't think I can lift any heavier and has more faith in me and my strength than I do in myself. I don't think that I will ever go back to a regular gym or get on a Stair Master again! While my body is not yet physically where I want it to be (though it is on it's way), I know with Steve's guidance and my hard work I will get there. Thanks Steve!

10/10 Everything you want in a trainer

By Judith Ursini / West Haven, USA

I stumbled upon Kettlebell Daily one afternoon then proceeded to do some research learned more about kettlebell and Trainer Steve. The information seemed legitimate so I made an appointment and got started.
From day one, I knew I was in the right place and with the right trainer. Trainer Steve is serious, experienced and genuinely interested in all of his clients. I have learned and benefited from Trainer Steve's expertise not only in kettlebell, but also in nutrition. Aside from reviewing my food diary, Trainer Steve has enlightened me to the grain free way of eating. In one month, I lost a full size! It is now been 3 months of eating grain free and kettlebell workouts and I have lost 2 full sizes total. I look and feel stronger, more fit and I have a higher level of energy than when I began! I wasn't sure I could do it or if it would work. But it did!! It was challenging but I didn't go through major changes that took me out of my comfort zone. Had I not met Trainer Steve, I don't know if I would have ever caught on and adapted a grain free diet.
Trainer Steve is vigilant about sharing information and motivating his clients to accept challenges in their workouts and to perform kettlebell in a safe and effective way. He is a role model for trainers and I have nothing but appreciation and respect for him.

10/10 Life Changing

By Sergio Merino / New Haven, CT

Steve is one of the best trainers I have ever had the pleasure of meeting and working with.I came to Steve eager to learn this newish training method in order to integrate it into my own training and it completely turned my life around.

In 5 weeks I lost 2 inches off my waist with minimal change on the scale. I'm a competitive bodybuilder and never saw these type of results from any diet or training program ever! I loved it so much I couldn't help but go 5-6 times a week.

As a strength and conditioning coach and personal trainer who has seen many programs in CT, Steve hands down runs one of the best in the state. He cares about his client which is hard to find in trainers and truly invests himself in helping his clients achieve their results. Steve has the right mix of knowing when to push and encourage his clients and when to back off the gas a bit. Great environment, greater clients, and a great trainer.

10/10 Try it... you'll like it!

By Jim NappY / Mind your own beeswax, CT

Attending Kettlebell Daily has changed my life. I have not moved with such strength and flexibility in twenty years.

Steve is patient, funny and has the right mix of both encouraging his students and challenging them to do better for longer with heavier.

You should come and see the space, you will be hard pressed to find a more beautiful place to work out and watch the sunrise over the beach.

And just like all the other additions.... the first one is free.

10/10 Never a bored with working out!

By Karen / West Haven

I started training with Steve at Kettlebell Daily in September. I was looking for something different that would keep me motivated. I have orderd every workout from every infomercial and have workout equipment at home. I would get very bored with all of them and give up after a few weeks of working out. With kettlebells, the workouts are constantly changing and Steve keeps me motivated and focused. I never get bored and I feel challenged every day. I have gotten stronger and leaner and simply love the workouts. Thanks Trainer Steve...

10/10 I Love Kettle Bells!

By Carly Horobin / West Haven

I started working with Steve at the beginning of December. In the past four months I have seen and felt dramatic changes in my body. I used to run on a treadmill a few times a week, I have worked with other trainers, and have attended some different exercise classes, but nothing has yet to compare to the workout / results I have reached with kettle bells. My legs have gotten tighter, my butt is lifted, I can actually see the muscles in my arms, my upper back is looking toned, and I have lost fat off my stomach. Every workout is different, and Steve has worked with me specifically to reach my goals. I have always felt comfortable and welcomed by the other clients as well as Steve and Jason who are all very approachable and accepting. I am relieved to finally find an exercise routine that keeps me challenged / interested, gives me results and most importantly surrounds me with educated and ever learning staff as well as genuine people.

10/10 A Caring and Motivational Trainer.

By cc / shelton,ct

Steve has been my trainer for over two years, and I cannot say enough about him. I gone through more than six trainers in less then two years, that is until I meet Steve.

The trainers that I had in the past they mostly would just put me on treadmill while they drank there coffee. I want some one who is going to challenge me, motivate me and more importantly take the time out to come up with work out that is tailored for me. This is exactly what Steve does.

When I had some medical problems he was able to work around my problems and I still got a great work out. But more important than the workouts and the ability to get me back to where I was before getting sick, was his ability to work around my schedule and more important was his compassion.
If I had to sum up what kind of Trainer Steve is it would be: Steve loves what he does. He will go to great lengths to help you to reach your goal. But more important he becomes your workout buddy and friend.

10/10 It's a big deal...

By Linda Frost / Kettlebell Daily W.Haven, CT

I was unable to lose that last 10 annoying pounds. Some might say 'that's no big deal", but when you're at the gym working out like crazy, only to look down at the scale and see it hasn't moved or you're still not able to fit into those jeans you love IT'S A BIG DEAL. Not only did I lose the weight, I went from a size 6 to a size 2 in a month and 1/2! I don't kill myself at the gym anymore getting nowhere, its been 4 months now and I never looked so great in my jeans. The use of the kettlebell is cardio, strength training and coordination combined with Steve's knowledge I am stronger and leaner than ever before. Kettlebell Daily has launched me into whole new level of fitness.

10/10 On the Road Again...

By Dave Lysak / Ansonia

55 yo guy with a history in competative strenght sports, highland games, olympic lifting and power lifting. Over the yeras, I've had an acumulation of injuries. The pain was bad enough that I hadn't touched a weight in at least 7 or 8 years.

Well, Steve and his kettlebells changed all that. I'm back to trhowing weights around, litterally, 2 or 3 times a week. I feel strong again. Of course, the best part is, I'm doing it with a minimum of joint pain.

Life is good again,. thanks to Steve.

10/10 After all these years......

By Vicky / West Haven

I have a plate with nine screws in my arm due to a cycling accident which left me with a smashed humerus. I was told on several occasions that this is as good as it gets. Well, it's not. Steve has given me through proper instruction increased movement in my arm and continues to work on different methods to increase the overhead movement. I no longer have pain. Steve is very knowledgeable.

10/10 Super Trainer of Seniors

By Helen M. Freeman / Westville, New Haven, CT

Recently I met Trainer Steve at the behest of my son. I am a Senior, somewhat sedentary, citizen and my son is concerned about my fitness. He is treating me to a course of Fitness Programs.
Thus I met Steve Rowe, my trainer. His gym is on a pleasant cove of the Long Island Sound where West Haven meets Woodmont, a part of Milford, CT. He has an extensive background in Physical Activities and is very knowledgeable about the adaptation of these activities to persons of less than prime form. We have begun with exercises that promote flexibility. With his gentle guidance, I can already see that my movement is improved.
Working on the "Squats" improves my control when standing or sitting in my chair, and elsewhere. A tall person such as myself has issues with the new modern ecologically correct commodes as they are generally speaking below knee level and thus a mechanical challenge to those of us who have left their physical conditioning behind several decades. We need to Shape Up! Hence "Squats" to the Rescue!
Trainer Steve is gentle but firm, characteristics that are needed when working with non-active persons. I consider myself reasonably active but there is a lot of room for improvement. I enjoy digging holes in the ground which leads me to gardening. However this does not promote flexibility which one needs an a daily basis. Nor does it vacuum the living room or adjust for carrying weighty purses with all those little accessories so needed today. For these we need exercises that focus on posture and strengthening muscles which we were unaware had been neglected, nay inactive for some time. Here Steve comes to the rescue with his patient guidance and extensive knowledge of exercises.

10/10 He's who you want for the long haul!

By Melissa / Woodbridge, CT

It was love at first swing ---kettlebells have been the perfect balance of strength and flexibility training for me.
I have been working with Steve for almost 2 years. I'm one of his older clients with significant back and hip issues. Over this time period I've gotten stronger, leaner, and more flexible.
Steve is a thoughtful, thorough, patient, and very knowledgeable trainer. He's gone out of his way to learn as much as he can about functional strength training that would help me.
He is encouraging and helps to make the adjustments necessary for someone who is older and not as flexible as the younger folks in the gym.
He takes his work outs and his clients seriously; he is the trainer you need for the long haul, not just the quick fix (although he does some great work for a short term goal just weeks or months away).
I wouldn't train with anyone else!

10/10 Trainer Steve is the best!

By Michelle / Milford, CT

I met Steve after he helped my sister jumpstart her weightloss journey. She learned the right way to eat and work out to help lose weight. She lost nearly 50 pounds after getting started with Steve.

When I was ready to work with a personal trainer, I looked to Steve. I have learned that I am much stronger than I ever thought before. Steve pushes you without being pushy. I think back to when doing swings with an 8k was hard! I am constantly challenged with Steve's workouts and feel much more comfortable in my abilities.

Steve has helped me with my eating and always has answers for how to eat best for weight loss. I am happy that Steve is my trainer and happier to call him my friend.

If you are looking for someone that knows what they are doing and will challenge and support you along the way, he is the trainer for you!

10/10 Steve is a fabulous trainer, & better at anatomy than my orthopedist

By Vicki / West Haven, CT

I started to do kettle bells when my husband convinced me that working out with kettle bells would make me into a better runner. While I was skeptical at first, I quickly discovered that this type of work out was much more efficient than running, and I quickly started to see positive changes in abdomen and hips.

After about 4 weeks of doing kettle bells at home, my husband brought me with him to see Steve (his personal trainer). Steve did the CK-FMS (functional movement screen) on me the first time that I saw him, and discovered why I have been having so many problems with pain in my feet, lower back, hips, and knees when I run. After watching my squat, Steve found that my left tibia is about an inch shorter than my right (I had broken my left tibia about 12 years ago). Before seeing Steve, I had seen my orthopedist at least 6 times to diagnose the fractured metatarsals in my right foot, and after that my physical therapist for "therapy" and arches at least 8 times. I told my physical therapist and orthopedist that the the pain in my feet and knees was not improving, even with arches, but they just said it would take time for these things to go away and I needed to keep coming back to be evaluated.

Because of Steve, I now know what problems that I need to address as far as my feet are concerned, and I have made an appointment with a doctor who will eventually create lifts for my shoes. I cannot run anymore, or at least until the disparity in length of my legs is corrected for, but I feel like all of the problems and pains that I have been having make sense (they all link back to my left tibia being shorter than the right one).

Steve has a broad knowledge of human anatomy, movement and he is someone that I enjoy seeing once a week for an hour to teach me, and show me how to improve upon my muscle imbalances. After seeing Steve, I now have much less pain than I did before, and he has also taught me ways to make pain go away when it starts.

Steve is an excellent trainer and I consider myself fortunate to have I met him. If he had not diagnosed my leg length discrepancy which doctors kept on missing, I am sure that it would have caused me more and more health issues as I continued to run great distances.

Thank you Trainer Steve! :)

10/10 Smart, fit and fun

By Terry / Orange, CT

I have been a member of a local gym for years now. I trained with at least 5 different personal trainers in an attempt to improve my overall fitness and sports specific performance. Trainer Steve was the first trainer to actually understand my goals and help me meet them. I can see the changes in my body, and my tennis game has never been better.

I would recommend him without reservation. He is a great trainer, and a great guy.

10/10 Savior

By Dani / Milford,Ct

I walked into a gym 3 years ago looking for someone with a clue. I found Steve.I am always hurting myself when I work out due to past injuries.Steve showed me how to work out harder, in less time and most importantly with out injury! What I love the most about Steve is that he has a way of fixing anything...I mean anything. You can show up with a headache, muscle spasms, carpel tunnel and for the women out there he can get rid of CRAMPS!!!! If you asked me 3 years ago that swinging a kettle bell can cure cramps I would have laughed. He has an impeccable knowledge of the anatomy and applies it to every work out.Every other trainer I have worked out with would over work me and pushed me to do things my body just wouldn't do. Steve molds your body slowly giving you the time you need to attain your goals with out pushing yourself into an injury.I am always pleasantly surprised at just how strong I can be. He is the only person I will trust with my body!!

10/10 A trainer with a plan.....

By Dennis / Guilford CT

I became interested in kettlebells about 6 months ago. They seemed to offer a good workout in a manageable amount of time. For the past 20 years I have suffered significant shoulder pain whenever I embarked on a strengthening program. Steve seemed to have an in depth knowledge of physiology in addition to fitness and training. Shortly after beginning my training with Steve, my shoulders started "acting up" again. Steve told me not to stop training but to come to my workout with him while in pain. He assessed what was going on and showed me workouts and stretches I needed to do and NOT do. Pain gone. My overall fitness is really increasing, stronger, more defined musculature. I'm 45 years old and my ice hockey fitness and skills (goal scoring) has increased five-fold since I began training with Steve and the Kettlebells. Did I mention NO INJURIES ? Lastly, I like the man. He is intelligent, strong as an ox but deeply committed and humble in nature. The best fitness decision I could have made for myself and my well being. Thank you, Trainer Steve!

10/10 Amazing - can't beat Steve and the Garage Gym

By Jason / West Haven, CT

I came to Steve 'swinging' a kettlebell or so I thought. It only took one night before he showed me the real hardstyle swing and get up. I was completely hooked. I have now seen Steve every other week for six months and the changes are amazing! Now I'm even looking at HKC certification for myself. Steve is inspiring and I can't wait to hit the beach with him. I now even have my wife hooked!

10/10 This man and his kettlebells changed my life

By Jennifer / West Haven, CT

I met trainersteve in February of 2008. I was at a tough spot in life, looking for someone to guide me through weight loss and working out. I had never trained w/ a personal trainer before, I had no preconceived notions.

Steve and I started working out w/ stability ball and medicine ball routines to ease the aches that years of secretarial work had done to my body. It was in April that he introduced me to the kettlebell.

The kettlebell was amazing! This was love at first sight, err swing. Though I struggled through w/ a 4kg for my first Turkish Get Up, I was amazed at how beautiful a move it was, and just how many muscles in my body it used.

I couldn't get enough. I trained with the kettlebell practically exclusively, working out with other kettlebell enthusiasts that were training with Steve.

He pushed me without being overbearing, he sweated through the workouts with me (and others) always mindful of our form. He shared with us whatever knowledge he had gained in an effort to make us all better.

The honest to goodness truth is that training with Steve and the kettlebell has done for me in a year & a half what years as a gym rat couldn't..
Kettlebell training has increased my strength and endurance, made me feel alive and empowered, altered my body composition and reduced my body fat...
No embarassing cardio is done here.. kettlebell swings& VO2 max snatches for me!

My life has changed dramatically. I am now beginning a career as a personal trainer myself, still enjoying workouts with Steve and his crazy kettlebellers... and my collection of kettlebells has grown.

I continue to look for (and still receive) guidance from Steve so that I might get out to the RKC myself.
