It may seem bold, but it’s true, Sharon has changed my life! Her kettlebell class has toned my body like I have never seen it (and I turned 40 this year!). Combined with her nutrition program, my body literally changed within two weeks. Just today, someone I haven’t seen in a year told me I looked like I was aging in reverse! Sharon inspires me to be an all-around better person. I share her wisdom with everyone I meet and hope that by working with her, you too will become inspired to begin a life-changing journey!

I started a cleansing program with Sharon on March 1 of this year. With Sharon's guidance I was given a list of foods to eat each week, i stayed on the program for one month. In that time, i learned about food sensitivities and how better i felt when i eliminated them from my diet. I charted each day and checked in with her about every 3-4 days with my food list. It was important to me to be honest and stick with the program. Even though I am not checking in with her now, i am continuing to be mindful of the foods I eat and because of that I have kept my weight off and have felt better. I think its a very valuable program and would encourage others to try it.

I began working with Sharon on a nutrition plan on Feb. 28. I am nailing my goals of greater strength, better digestive health and weight loss! No more digestive distress, keeping the weight off and enjoying a satisfying and healthy way of eating. I started kettlebell training with Sharon a year ago, 30 pounds overweight and out of shape. She was able to "meet me were I was" and to provide the support needed to help me to "push myself" back to health, strength and more confidence. In a few weeks my clothes were looser and in a few months 20 lbs. After a year of training, I suffered an injury from a fall and was out of commission for several months. Sharon worked with me back to strength training and introduced me to her custom nutrition counseling and cleanse. I lost 5 lbs in both the first and second weeks. I have more energy and am more mindful of my eating. I owe a great deal to Sharon and her exceptional coaching and could only give her the highest praise as a kettlebell instructor.

In addition to being a fabulous kettlebell instructor, Sharon offers
individual coaching on diet, nutrition and supplements. Over the
years I had put on extra weight and my body ached. Pounds and pain,
not a great combination. In my educational consults with Sharon I
learned to increase my protein and vegetables while decreasing, if not
at times eliminating dairy, wheat and sugar. Through this combination
of eating, I lost the bloat and inflammation in addition to losing 30
pounds. The body aches and pains all but disappeared and I am now
able to move my body in class with much more fluidity, flexibility and
strength. I sleep better as well. I was also guided on certain
supplements like chia seeds, magnesium and fish oil to improve my
overall health and well being. I am grateful to Sharon for her wisdom
and interest in helping me.

I have only been taking Sharon's class for about 4 months and have already noticed signficant changes. I am stronger, my clothes fit better and my posture has improved. I'm an 82-year-old woman, but no weakling after working with Sharon as an individual private student for two years. Not only do I carry suitcases for much younger friends, but that hanging flabby skin on on my arms is now toned muscle-- as Sharon exclaimed the first time she saw me in a tank top. I feel great, have tons of energy, am slim and trim, and I have a wonderful teacher and friend in Sharon. Every lesson includes lots of laughs even as she challenges me to routines that seem impossible until I try them and succeed. What a wonderful feeling of accomplishment Sharon has given me! I have just finished my second year of Kettlebells instruction in Sharon's class and want to share the great experience I've had. I was 56 years old when I started and felt I needed a regular exercise program to improve my strength and flexibility. I had heard that Kettlebells is a good exercise program so I thought I would give it a try. When you first meet Sharon, you can't help but be inspired by her own personal success with using Kettlebells. She's in fabulous shape and is an inspiration to everyone in the class. The evening class I joined is about as diverse a group of exercisers as you could imagine. The class is about twenty students and includes adults of all ages and abilities and has slightly more women than men. The class diversity is a testament to Sharon's inclusive teaching philosophy that everyone can improve their fitness and we can all celebrate each others' successes. We all start at different points, some working to do their first pushup in decades or hold the plank position for 30 seconds. As the months and years have gone by, the improvement in the group has been fantastic. Some student have lost substantial weight, others have increased their flexibility and improved their posture. We have all gotten stronger and improve our core body strength. Sharon is always there leading the class in a way that motivates people to try something new and even more challenging. Sharon is a very knowledgeable instructor and is focused on teaching the proper form for all the Kettlebells moves and she is constantly reviewing and correcting our technique. She is always concerned about safety and eliminating injuries. As a result, I've haven't had any injuries from the class and actually the Kettlebells exercises have greatly reduced my previous knee and back problems. The inclusiveness and friendliness of the class is a direct result of Sharon's infectious personality and her willingness to poke fun at herself. I just signed up for her class starting in January and can't wait to get back to my regular Kettlebells workouts and start my third year of improved fitness.

I have never been one to routinely exercise on an ongoing basis. Sharon's class has changed my mind set. I look forward to Mondays and Thursdays because I know that I am going to leave class with a feeling of accomplishment. I had never done a plank for more than a minute. Sharon has me doing 3 minutes. My goal is 5 minutes and I firmly believe that I can do that with Sharon's encouragement. She is a gentle giant. As much as I want to be stronger for myself, I also want to do better for her. I have only been working with her for 2 months and can't wait until I earn the "advanced" status. Sharon stresses quality over quantity. While it may be tempting to do 50 swings for numbers sake, she would rather we do 10 correctly. I am so thankful that I have joined her "kettle family" at Hopkins.

Sharon's kettlebell class is absolutely amazing! Sharon is a great instructor and strives to make sure everyone is working out correctly and has your best interests in mind; health, fitness and otherwise. Her humor and knowledge make this intense work out fly by in no time! I love it! I have noticed great changes in my body in such a short time - clothes are fitting better and I'm much more confident. I was definitely apprehensive at first but Sharon has made this class an absolute must in my week!

The time flies in Sharon's class, before you know it you are doing the cool down. I feel great after the class because my posture has improved and my strength in different weak areas has improved. I also like the atmosphere; Sharon is positive and the group responds. There are always added tidbits of information that Sharon shares whether about Kettlebells, exercise or nutrition. Very positive experience!

This is an awesome class with an awesome instructor! In six weeks I have already accomplished more than I ever thought I would. I am stronger, more toned and have a lot more self confidence than when I started. This is all thanks to Sharon. She seems to have sixth sense about each of her students needs and encourages all of the class with humor, discipline and love. She has a knack for bringing out the best in everyone. All of her students truly respect her and it shows in the warmth and community feeling I get when I am at class. I highly recommend taking this class - you can't go wrong!

Before I started Sharon's class last March I have never done any type of exercise consistently. The workouts are tough and very challenging but Sharon has a way of making it less torture and more fun. She is attentive to all the students in her class and teaches with humor and understanding. She is extremely knowledgeable about exercise and nutrition and is very willing to share her expertise in order for her students to benefit and change. I came to the class wanting to gain strength and become fit - I have done both. There is still work to be done and I am glad I have Sharon to help me along. This is a great class and in no way intimidating or too difficult for anyone!

One of my friends took some kettle bell classes and raved about it. She offered to loan me the bells but only if I took a class....too easy to injure yourself if you don't use proper form. And so I ended up in Sharon's class. It has been great fun; Sharon is knowledgeable, motivating and funny. She points out when you lose form and gets you back on track; she is not humiliating. My goals were to get stronger and more toned, better posture and lose weight, and after 2 classes I am much stronger especially in my legs, better toned, much more aware of how I stand and move and make body corrections and lost 14 lbs. Sharon is very encouraging and uses humor to make the class a lot of fun. And yes, I've signed up for a 3rd session.

My first experience with kettlebells was earlier this year. The introductory class got me hooked a little bit and then after the first class I was really hooked! I enjoy the hour we have together very much. Sharon is zany, wise and motivating -- all at the same time! As she is demonstrating a new move I think "how am I going to do that??" but somehow with her coaching I give it a try. It is rough at first, but then it smooths out. I appreciate her discipline on form and overall body health.

Sharon is real, inclusive, supportive and motivating. She lives her class -- both from an instruction standpoint and her own personal fitness level. She is knowledgeable about the skills and coaches with your whole health in mind, including nutrition and listening to your body. Her weekly classes always have a different routine and reflect the spirit of her personality. It's not easy, but the pace is right and it provides an amazing mix of cardio and strength. I am eating better, feeling stronger and have more confidence. After less than a month my clothes already fit better!

I had heard of kettle bells for a long time but it was this past winter, after hearing kettle bells being talked about by three people in one week that I knew it was time. I had seen people carry the bells into the Hopkins community center through the years, so I started there. I love the class and have become hooked on this from of exercise. Its cardio mixed with strengthening. I love how strong i am getting and how much more endurance I see I have. I have a background of years of back pain and have to say I have not once had any with this form of exercise.Sharon stresses proper posture and will not let you do anything unless you are doing it correctly. She has other spotters to watch us too and that has been so important . She has a good sense of humor and truly cares about each person so that we can get the most out of the class. I am starting my 3rd session tonight and look forward to it. i am stronger now as I get into my mid 50s then I was when I was younger.

Neighbors had talked about kettlebells and our community school had a program. So why not try it out. It's been interesting learning control and meeting Sharon. My goal was to improve posture and my body structure. Sharon has a fun class, reviews what we learned in prior classes but also introduces new moves, watches for proper form so injuries don't occur and every class makes me want to return. I have become more aware of how I do my workouts.

Sharon Nelson is an amazing combination in a teacher. She is demanding and yet makes it fun. She is encouraging but always stressing proper form. She is not afraid to point out when you are losing form with fatigue, but never with humiliation. Discipline is taken seriously but never insulting. You always get a dose of humor with wisdom. Sharon uses multiple approaches to reinforce proper form so you are always learning but never bored. A fabulous teacher to study the Russian Kettlebell Technique. I feel very blessed to be learning an exercise that challenges my mind and my body with an instructor that lifts the spirit as well!

I wanted to learn kettle bell workouts from the best, and I have found that with Sharon Nelson. She is a stickler for proper form which is key to maximizing the workout and avoiding injury. After only my first session, I feel stronger, more flexible and eager to start session 2. I am able to practice at home what I learn in class. Since I was looking for an exercise class (and never once considered Kettlebells)and thought it would be fun to have a workout partner, I signed up. I LOVE IT! Sharon is not only enthusiastic, funny and encouraging - she kicks butt! I leave each class feeling like I've accomplished something whether it be a new move, 1 extra swing or a good workout. I have just completed the first series of classes with Sharon and have signed up for a second. Each week I find myself getting stronger and stronger. I am hoping to make kettlebells a "business as usual" part of my life. While I hope to continue to participate in class, no matter what happens I feel I have a great foundation to continue utilizing this great tool for fitness. Also, I find Sharon highly entertaining with a great sense of humor. Perhaps that's not the most important attribute in an instructor for some, however, for someone who is generally nervous or self-conscious about learning new fitness routine, it helps! Also, in the same vein, Sharon is very encouraging. I am not fit. Sharon makes a point of telling me that I am making excellent progress. This makes me want to keep coming back!

I have not continued an indoor exercise class until I started Kettle bell 1.5 years ago, and I love it! Sharon is a great instructor and makes the class fun, she has a good sense of humor! I used to have a "bad back", I'm on my feet most of my work day, and now my back rarely bothers me. I also have some triceps muscles!
I will continue with Kettle bell, it's now a part of my life and I thank Sharon for encouraging me to push myself a little bit more.
I highly recommend the class.

I started taking Sharon's Kettlebell class in the fall of 2009. It was my first experience with kettlebells, but something I had been interested in for some time. Sharon is very conscientious about proper form to prevent injury. She is able to tailor her classes to meet the needs of a wide range in experience levels so that everyone can work to their potential.
I have noticed an increase in upper body strength and core strength and plan on continuing classes. My only problem is that my schedule does not allow me to attend classes as often as I would like.

Sharon's class is a great workout. She works you hard but it is also a fun class. She pays attention to proper form, safety in handling the bell and warm-ups and cool-downs so you don't injure yourself. I have definitely noticed an increase in my strength since taking the class. I have never been one to exercise and know that I need to do something. As I get older, I can feel my body slowing down, the weight creeping up and my level of strength and energy depleting. On a whim I started kettlebells with Sharon and love it! She makes each person feel accomplished no matter what their level is, she is generous with personal attention, making sure everyone gets what they need in every class. I love her sense of humor and stories to keep us engaged and she is clearly committed to correct form and maximum benefit from kettlebells. She is right when she says, the benefits start appearing very soon, I can see in a short time the progress being made. I have more energy and feel better already!

I began working with Sharon in January and am new to kettlebells. I have experience in weight lifting, yoga and with other aerobic activities. I have found Sharon to run a motivating and inspiring class. She is great at teaching and very strict on form. She has a unique ability to see the whole class as an instructor. I am delighted with the results. Kettlebells has been especially helpful in my golf and tennis games. I am working toward a long bicycle trip this summer and expect kettlebells to be a core part of my training. I highly recommend Sharon as my instructor.

Sharon rocks!! If you are looking to lose weight, get tone or gain strength, this is the class to take. I am 5ft. tall, when I started this class 1 year ago I weighed 127lbs with 32% body fat. I now weigh 115lbs. with 23% body fat. I taken a bone density test in 2008, it showed a trouble spot in a area of my right hip. My doctor was amazed to see my new test results, in 1 year that area has improved 85%. I am glad I listen to sharon say " if you commit, you will see great results". My friends say I have Michelle Obama arms and they would like to have them. I say take Sharon Nelson's KB class and you will. Thank you sharon for being such a great instructor.

Sharon is the best Kettlebell teacher because she teaches with so much caring for her students. She will kick you butt each class and you know she is watching out for you too. I am at class to get results. I get them with Sharon. When I am having trouble with a technique she can spot just where I need to modify what I am doing, even if it is just a slight shift, to get the maximum workout and not hurt my body. Sharon teaches us how to take care of the whole self. And to top it off, every class I always end up laughing at something Sharon said. I get a great workout and it is fun! She makes the entire class feel like a team. We all end up caring about each other because Sharon models that for us. She knows her stuff! I trust her completely.

Sharon is totally commited to teaching her students to use kettlebells correctly. Safety is her # 1 priority. Sharon guides her students through kettlebell sequences, but always with gentle reminders to listen to your own body. Sharon incorporates healthy living information into every class. It's obvious she spends considerable time outside of class developing lesson plans. The variety of the classes attests to that. In addition to kettlebell training, her classes always include warm up exercises, general conditioning exercises, and a cool down utilizing various mind/body disciplines. In her classes, Sharon is part coach, part drill sergeant, part cheerleader. The icing on the cake: she is truly funny, and makes class fun.

I took an introductory Kettlebell class from Sharon several months ago and she's got me hooked! Sharon's at ease teaching a range of skill levels yet making you feel just like one of the regulars in her class. Her instruction is second to none as she takes the time to make sure your form is correct and answers all your questions. Sharon continues to challenge the class to make sure you are getting a great workout and a variety of new exercises in each class. I use to hate push ups but I'm not a hater anymore, thanks to this Kettle Bell course making me stronger and an added bonus Sharon as the instructor. It is rewarding to see toned upper arms and improved posture and all from the first session. I can't wait to see the results at the end of my second session and beyond.

There were many exercise classes and health clubs that I had joined throughout the years with no noticeable results and no-one caring if you came back the next time or not. Sharon cares that I make it to each class and because of that I want to be at each class. She makes sure my posture is correct when doing the moves with my kettle bell so the worry about possibly irritating my back in the class is no longer a worry. I can finally say I have developed core strength.

Finally I could not end this without saying how much I enjoy Sharon's sense of humor. If I have humor included in the things I love to do it only makes me love to do them more.

Sharon did a great job of building a foundation for doing a kettle bell workout. I would never have tried to learn kettle bells on my own. Her workouts were very organized and had a lot of variety. She got to know all of her students and provided very timely and candid feedback to all of us. I would take another class from her in a heartbeat.

I have just completed my first series of 10 classes with Sharon. I was first introduced to kettlebells by two of my coworkers, one of whom takes classes with Sharon. Sharon came to do a demonstration at our school, and right away I knew it was something I would enjoy. There were quite a few beginners in this last series of classes, and Sharon really took the time to make sure we were using the correct form for each move. She does an excellent job of modifying the different exercises so the more advance students still got a work out while she was teaching us the basics. I have already seen improvements in my strength, flexibility, and endurance. My posture is improving and my clothes are fitting better. I cannot wait to see what the future will bring, and that future will definitely include kettlebells with Sharon!

I've been taking Sharon's kettlebell class for over 2 years and barely ever miss a class because her class is so much fun and you learn so much in a 1 hour class. Not only how to swing a kettlebell, but to be aware of my posture, and to stretch before and after working out. Sharon is great at watching everyone and keeping us safe and in good form. Sharon also has a great sense of humor. I always look forward to my next kettlebell class :)

Being new to Kettlebells, I was nervous and also doubtful that exercising with it could really help me, as an older person with some physical limitations. Sharon's patience, understanding of body physics, and just right amount of push are the perfect mix for me. In general I don't go for exercize classes, but Sharon makes this a very worthwhile and life changing experience, appropriate for all ages and skill levels.

I started the Kettlebell class about 6 months ago. Sharon has a talent for bringing the class together, so it is always fun to go to class, even though I work harder than I would believe I could. My favorite memory is of my college age daughter who visited class on winter break. She was amazed at what we could do, and I heard her telling her friends later, "there were all of these old people there, swinging those kettlebells around like they were nothing!"

Last August after having a hysterectomy I started kettlebells. At the time, I could not do a regular push up and carrying the bell from the car to class was a workout. The variety of things you do in class really help your whole body. Somewhere along the way, I found it was even changing my attitude towards fitness, proper nutrition and priorities in life. Sharon was there for me each week encouraging me! She is the best instructor for me :)

Sharon is an excellent kettlebell instructor. She puts on a really fun class, and is always willing to help you individually before or after class. If you are looking to increase your functional fitness - strength, flexibility, conditioning, and body awareness - kettlebell classes are for you.

I'm sold on kettlebells, and I attribute much of that to Sharon's in-depth knowledge and expert instruction in a wide variety of kettlebell exercises and other exercises that support functional fitness. I recommend Sharon's classes to everyone I know!

Personally, Sharon has been a real inspiration to me.

I started in Sharon's class at Hopkins Community Center back in February. I had some trebidations, but wanted something different in my workouts. It turned out to be one of the best decisions that I have made in a while.

Sharon is an excellent instructor. She is patient, but expects alot out of her students. She takes the time to really show you the right techniques with the Kettlebells (Which is crtical if you want to make gains without hurting yourself). Plus, she really can "walk the walk". Any person that thinks he is in shape should try some of Sharon's advanced techniques - She makes it look easy, but only the fittest of people could do similar moves. She also has a fun sense of humor and can make even the most demanding sessions fun and light hearted.

I am now in my third round of 10 sessions classes with Sharon and her team, and I'm hooked. In fact, I much prefer using Kettlebells to other forms of excercise. My strength and coordination have improved, I've lost over an inch in my wasteline, and have much better body awareness. Plus the prices for her classes are very reasonable. The average Kettlebell training classes can cost up to $30 or more per session. $99 for 10 classes is a bargain.

Overall, It's an excellent workout program at a great price. I highly recommend Sharon, her class and her team of instructors

Approximately eight months ago, I could hardly lift a rock and then I heard about kettle bells. At my first class, I was in awe of the fact that people could actually swing so much weight around. All I could think about was my knees or back being injured. It took two weeks or less and I was swinging like the pros. Sharon Nelson not only takes you smoothly through learning the correct posture and procedure for swinging, but she does it in a way that makes you believe that you can do anything. Her positive reinforcement helps in every way. If you ever needed to have a good kettle bell instructor, she's the best. As far as the back or knee worries, there's not a worry left. My legs, knees, ankles, and back are strong now (how they should be). They have never felt better. My little arm hangers are almost gone, too. Age 58 and feeling good. (Word to the wise...do not do bells without having proper instruction.) Thank you, Sharon.

I started taking Sharon's class about 6 months ago. I don't think I'll ever stop. Sharon is meticulous about teaching the correct form to us, which is important to avoid injury. She has a great sense of humor and keeps the smiles going. She knows and speaks to everyone personally, even when we have a large class. She has a good combination of gentleness while being firm in instruction and structure.

And the best part of it all is I am NOT bored, which is one of my main problems with exercise programs! So I am actually doing it, which is a big thing. The other best part is about how strong my body is getting. I love it.

I thought kettlebells were for muscular young people, but I was wrong. Here I am at 62, swinging that bell! Sharon is totally encouraging for each one of us to work at the level we can work safely. So I always feel good about what I do in class.

My husband and I took kettle ball from Sharon. We had no experience with kettlebells. Sharon is an excellent instructor. It was a very large class composed of new and experienced students. Sharon organized the class so that experienced students demonstrated skills and also gave the new students help. I learned:
- respect for kettlebell technique
- an introduction to different skills
- a desire to push myself - I developed confidence in weight bearing activities.
