I have tried almost every exercise program, gadget, machine, DVD a woman can try, and have quit every single one of them. No really. I either get bored, get lazy, see no results, you get the picture. That was until I decided to try out this kettlebell workout that my friends kept talking about. Since March, I haven't looked back and go almost every day because I like it so much. Yes, I like to workout, can't believe I'm saying that!
This workout is amazing and Ryan is THE BEST trainer I have ever met. No yelling, no, shame or embarrassment, no "hey you slacker push it harder!!!" annoying attitude, just supportive, educated, and well-intentioned advice and motivation. He is unlike any other fitness instructor/athlete I have ever met. Under his instruction, you will NEVER feel like you can't do anything nor be worried about what others are thinking of you. And let's face it, many of us have felt this way with other workouts. The beauty of kettlebells combined with Ryan's instruction is that it doesn't matter what everyone else is doing, you do what is best for you. And isn't that what working out is all about: making YOU feel better, inside and out!
With Ryan's workouts and his nutritional tips and programs, I have lost 51 pounds, and more comes off every week. But its not just about the weight (although a major factor!), my body is shaping up, my muscles are getting toned, and my endurance is unbelievable. Ryan has helped me throughout this journey, focusing on overall health, so that this weight loss is more than just pounds off, its a lifestyle change. I enjoy reading and discussing articles and books he shares; he's always up for discussing health practices and philosophies.
This workout is for everyone. When you walk into Ryan's classes, you see all kinds of people with many different goals. Different sizes and shapes as well, yet one thing in common: determination. I walked into my first class having done basically nothing physical, and just slowly worked my way through the program. Again, Ryan's style of gentle corrections and genuine support helps you be the best you can be. As you get to know the other members, you find yourself in a great community of people having fun, sharing stories, and loving every minute of their workout. Really.
I don't normally write too many reviews, but I believe in Ryan and the kettlebell workout so much that I'd continue to rave well past my character limit! The results don't lie, the mirror doesn't lie, and your body won't lie either. Hands down, I feel like I'm in the best shape I've ever been in, and the fun part is, I'm still working on the journey and I'm excited about it. So, this woman has finally found a program that she won't be quitting. Thanks Ryan!

Ryan provides more than just class instruction; he offers suggestions for nutrition, stretching and overall health and body improvement. Ryan’s skill in correcting form and adjusting for pain or muscle strain is amazing! I love his coaching and instruction style, he is consistently patient and kind with his reminders, tweaks and suggestions. I never feel uncomfortable about being a ‘newbie’, he provides individual coaching tips to everyone, mentions modifications for skill/strength level and helps with proper weight selection. I never feel self-conscious or embarrassed; the classes are always fun, friendly, and challenging. I enjoy the variety of the classes, they are never repetitive.
I've just recently turned 50 and I am surprised at the significant improvement in my strength and form, as well as the weight loss and muscle tone I've achieved, even in my first month. Ryan is a great instructor and coach; he helps me get the most out of myself, in a fun enjoyable way.
10/10 Kettlebells are for EVERYONE

Ryan makes kettlebells- something that initially sounds strange and foreign- accessible to everyone. When my husband Julius began training I thought kettlebells were just the latest workout fad and I definitely thought it was a "guy thing".
But when within months Julius trimmed down and muscled up I decided I better go in and try kettlebells for myself! I have been SO happy with the training I've received from Ryan, who is knowledgeable, friendly and never condescending like some personal trainers I've seen in the past.
Training with kettlebells does not make me some remarkable athlete that trains in some elite sport... I'm just an average gal who, with kettlebell training, has achieved above-average levels of strength and fitness that would not have otherwise occurred without Ryan's help.

Meagan, another trainer for TNT was the catalyst for me joining this program. I'm, significantly over weight and needed to kick start my weight loss and wanted a different approach. Once my wife and I began to train with Ryan we were immediately surprised at how positive-optimistic but firm his approach to our fitness was. I became increasingly confident in his suggestions as he allowed me to self evaluate my success and assured me that he'd work WITH me to achieve those success goals. I have hired trainers in the past and he is the FIRST ever to explain that he is there to help me succeed and this help would not be easy but it would be what's necessary to achieve success. I cringe everytime I attend his class as I know the workout will require all I have, but feel so accomplished once the workout is over and look forward to Ryan's fist bump and his "good job" comments. I will be a part of this fitness program as long as he's my instructor. Great Job Ryan

Despite my complaining. my wife dragged me to one of Ryan's classes. I was not interested in fitness, nor did I see the point in working out. That was three years ago - Kettlebell training has changed my life. Not only am I (much) stronger and faster than before I started, I also sleep better, concentrate harder at work and just plain feel better.
Ryan is everyman's trainer; he's no gym rat. He has a great ability to entice you to reach the next level of fitness without pressuring you to do more weight than you can handle. His knowledge of fitness is comprehensive, which makes him very flexible; he's also great at working around injuries.
I can't say enough about Ryan's training philosophy. It made a believer out of me!

Ryan Toshner's kettlebell classes are efficient and fun! With Ryan's help (and Derek's (Ryan's brother)- TNT Fond du Lac), I have lost 11% body fat in 18 months, and over 20 pounds. I am 38 years old, hypothyroid, and have a history of obesity in my family and in my own past.
I have gained a lot of muscle, competed in the Tactical Strength Challenge and placed 9th internationally, and was inspired to become RKC certified myself this past June 2010. I credit Ryan, in part, with this improvement in my health, because without Ryan ever taking the leap of becoming RKC certified (now he is RKC II), Derek would've never become RKC certified, and there would be no TNT Fond du Lac or TNT Brookfield (or TNT Appleton!). Well, it would be much less likely!
Ryan takes the time to really know his clients and their goals, and knows how to motivate different people. Ryan's knowledge is broad and deep, and because health and nutrition are his passions (as well as helping people improve in these areas), he is constantly reading more on the topics and passing on his knowledge to his clients, as well as furthering his education through other certification classes like RKC II and Functional Movement Systems (FMS) training.
I attend Ryan's evening class most Wednesday nights when I am in Waukesha for work, and enjoy his kettlebell workout as it is simple and effective--always. There is nothing unnecessary or over-the-top. His intelligence shows through in his workouts, and they are well designed. You WILL get quick, positive results with kettlebells and Ryan as your trainer. Be consistent, and transformation will occur!

I found Ryan through the Dragon Door website in January 2009. I began attending classes at Ryan's studio about twice a week. Ryan is an excellent instructor, his teaching style is relaxed, but still attentive and he is never shy about pushing you a little harder.
I'm 36 years old, a full-time working mom of 2, and like everyone else, didn't think that I had time to make the commitment to my fitness and my health. I have never considered myself an athlete, I was never involved in sports. Ryan has motivated me, supported me, and pushed me to realize that I am an athlete and I can be an even better athlete with his help. I am stronger than I have ever been in my life, I feel better, I look better, and I have no doubt that I am healthier. Now, I'm working out at the studio 4 days a week and at home the other 3.
Ryan isn't just an instructor, he doesn't just teach kettlebells; he's a role model, an advocate, a champion, and a task-master. His classes are challenging and every single day he's there to bring something new and challenging to the studio!

I am a avid runner and love challenging myself to new things. I was introduced to kettlebells about one year ago and it definitly helped in everything that I trained for last year including a half marathon, triathlon and urbanathlon. I found out that I can run faster, longer and be strong without the bulk. I can really challenge myself with increasing weight and surprise myself often. I never thought I would be able to lift the kettlebells that I do now!

I have had the pleasure of attending Ryan's Kettlebell workouts for a month now and am amazed at the results. Every workout provides new and challenging moves with the kettlebell - no workout is the same, you will never get bored! On top of the great workouts, Ryan takes the time to get to know you and your individual needs. He invests his time in seeing you improve the way you want to. I am looking forward to continuing to train at his gym for years to come.
