10/10 Extremely Knowledgeable!

By Keith Suttle / Zionsville, United States

I've really enjoyed learning from Rick. He brings a practical and simple approach to kettlebells while still focusing on the importance of technique. He has taught me how beneficial kettlebells can be for all types of clientele. I appreciate his passion for his work and his dedication to the sport. Thanks Rick!

10/10 Top notch trainer!

By sara s / noblesville, USA

I have been working with kettle bells on my own for about 12 months. I contacted Rick because I was sure my form was lacking (I was right!). He was extremely thorough - making sure that I understood his instructions before moving on and helping me to recognize my own weaknesses. I also very much appreciated how knowledgeable and obviously passionate he is about proper body mechanics, efficient training, injury-prevention, etc. I look forward to our next workout together!

10/10 New to kettlebells, but now obsessed!

By Joseph Uphoff / Indianapolis, united states

I met Rick for a private kettlebell lesson that lasted nearly three hours. In that time he taught me a lot of techniques and tricks with the kettlebell...almost more than i can remember really:). As a beginner with kettlebells, I was a little nervous to be under the eyes of someone as well trained and knowledgeable as Rick. However, Rick was easy-going but very thorough in his presentation and made sure I performed the drills with the utmost safety. I was very impressed with Rick's knowledge of kettlebell training...and physical training in general. Hopefully I'll be able to do him justice when I take my skills home - we did cover a lot of material: the swing, clean, press, push-press, goblet squat, the Turkish Get Up, and a lot more. I'd certainly reccommend Rick for kettlebells, personal training, or just a good conversation on anything strength and conditioning.
Thanks a lot Rick for the skills to take my training to a new level.

10/10 very good experience

By James / Cincinnati, ohio

I am a newcomer to kb's and as someone with lower back issues I wanted to get started on the right foot. After reading Rick's profile I decided to make the two hour drive to see him and I am very glad I did. Right from the start he observes how your body is moving and tailors the session to give you maximum benefit. As a beginner Rick was adamant that I correct my techniques on all the basic moves so I had the right foundation to build from, which in light of my injuries was exactly what I needed. Very knowledgeable would go back to him without hesitation.

10/10 Excellent Instructor

By John H. / Indianapolis, IN

I had my first lesson with Rick yesterday and I definitely recommend him as an instructor. He was extremely knowledgeable, patient and pays a lot of attention to detail. When going over the kettlebell exercises, he would immediately correct me if I was not using correct form and explain to me exactly why correct form is important. I feel that I already have a much better understanding of how to use kettlebells than before. Once I have completed another lesson or two, I have confidence that I will be well on my way to establishing a very solid foundation in kettlebell usage.

10/10 Put me on the right path - Very experienced with KBs

By Rob Bradtmiller / Indianapolis, IN

I recently purchased my first kettlebell along with the Enter The Kettbell book and DVD with the goal of efficiently improving my overall fitness. While the book and DVD offer a thorough introduction, the more I experimented with the kettlebell and read about other's experiences, the more I realized how much I needed to find someone with Rick's expertise and background to really "get it". The breadth and depth of Rick's kettlebell and overall fitness knowledge is impressive. Getting an expert's feedback was truly revealing as he identified major flaws in my two-handed swing technique that I had not even considered. Rick skillfully corrected me by finding the right words, mental cues, and keys to help reprogram my movements. I look forward to our follow-up and think this upfront instruction will pay fitness dividends and help me stay injury-free.

10/10 EXCELLENT Teacher!

By Melissa Jines / Indianapolis, IN

I could Rick him every time I work out! I have been a trainer and worked with trainers for the past 12 years, and this guy is one of the best. He is extremely patient, honest and knowledgeable, to the point and factual (something I really appreciate in people) and pays particularly keen attention to details. He really has a passion for kettlebells, and it shows. He takes training seriously, and really felt like he wanted me to do it right as much as I did. I had been training with kettlebells about 16 months before I had met him and the way he approached me about correcting my form was very tactful and didn't make me feel like I had been screwing it up the whole time (even though I was ;]). I have applied what he's taught me and have have more efficient workouts and increased strength as a result. I highly recommend to everyone in my area that if they are interested at all in KBs they need to see him!

10/10 Great instructor for beginners

By Madeleine / Bloomington, IN

I have had two kettlebell training sessions with Rick and am grateful to have started with him. I have not had any formal weight training instruction and no kettlebell instruction whatsoever. Rick has been very patient in showing me the basics and explaining techniques (sometimes several times) in ways that make sense to me. It is quite obvious that Rick has a great passion for kettlebell training, fitness in general, and teaching. He takes his studying and teaching seriously and works hard to find new ways to teach his students as much as they can safely handle. As a novice, I appreciate feeling comfortable to ask any question, and not having to worry about my safety while training, since Rick points out potential problems before they become injuries. I will definitely continue my training with Rick.

10/10 Highly Recommended!

By Brett Williamson / Dayton, OH

I started using kettlebells about two years ago. I purchased the Enter the Kettlebell book and DVD which were very helpful. However, after going through the Program Minimum and onto the Rite of Passage using progressively heavier kettlebells, I developed tendonitis in both elbows and pain in my shoulder/clavicle area to go along with low back issues that I have had all of my adult life and were often aggravated by my kettlebell training. After spending seven months going to physical therapy, ART, getting a cortisone shot and dropping the weight and volume of my training back to almost nothing, I still had pain. I was ready to give up kettlebells all together, but decided that I would try working with an RKC to see if improving my form would help. When searching for instructors I was very interested in working with a CK-FMS of which there were none in my area. I found that Rick was an RKC, CK-FMS and that he specialized in low back issues. I drove over 2 hours to meet with Rick and it was well worth it. Rick spent over three hours with me putting me through a functional movement screen, demonstrating joint mobility as a warm-up for kettlebell training, correcting my technique in various kettlebell lifts and showing me exercises to protect my lower back. Rick is extremely knowledgeable in multiple areas, very patient and funny. He found a severe range of motion issue in my one shoulder as well as the low back issue that I was aware of. We discussed what to do to go about correcting these issues. Rick showed me where my kettlebell technique was further injuring my elbows, shoulder and low back and made corrections to it. I would recommend Rick to anyone (even non-kettlebell enthusiasts) and I plan on going back to see him in the future.

10/10 Humbling, Positive and Exceptional knowledge.

By David C Hayden / Covington, Indiana USA

Rick is my first instructor, I bought my Kettlebells about a year and a half ago. The video and book to Enter The Kettlebell are excellent, but there is NO exception to being taught hands on by an RKC. I learned so much in the three hours I spent with Rick it was hard to believe, but he broke it all down into manageable chunks and I walked away with a lot more confidence and piece of mind not to mention the instruction stoked the fire to my growing passion for Kettlebells and fitness. I would highly recommend Rick Huse RKC to any one and everyone who might have interest in any thing Kettlebell, I plan on future meets with Rick as well to enhance and further my own knowledge. Thanks Rick!
And as Pavel say's. Enjoy The Pain!

10/10 Excellent Teacher with Attention to the Details

By Aaron / Indianapolis, IN USA

Rick is the first fitness instructor I have worked with. Rick took his time and expalined in great detail how to train with the Kettlebells. I have been following his instructions on how to workout with the Kettlebells and have had fantastic results with no injuries. I would highly recomend anyone getting started with this type of training go spend some time with Rick in order get started right. I plan on continuing my training with Rick in order to expand my knowledge of how to train with the Kettlebell.

10/10 Exceptional Knowledge

By Jason Witter / Muncie, Indiana

I have been in the fitness profession for over 10 years. After working with Rick I felt I have so much more to learn. Rick mixed hands on application with professional references. I felt comfortable with his firm and passionate approach to kettlebell training. I highly encourage anyone wanting to better themselves to pay a visit to Rick.

10/10 Patient and knowledgeable...very positive experience

By Jon Childers / Indianapolis, IN USA

I first bought a kettlebell a couple years ago but not having much luck on my own, put it aside under a pile of clothes. Recently, I decided to give it another try and sought help from an instructor. I was nervous having never had a personal trainer before or even really worked out. Rick was very easy to talk to and listened to what my goals and expectations were. Although my technique I'm sure was horrible, he worked with me to get it right. Going over moves, demonstrating and explaining what was going on until it 'clicked'. By the end of the session, I had gone from being afraid I was going to throw the KB through the wall to doing snatches, cleans, swings, and 'get ups' relatively competently. He gave suggestiong on routines both to start with and to work toward. All in all, I would highly reccommend Rick Huse to anyone looking for kettlebell training.

10/10 Rick rates in the upper 5% of all instructors I have had.

By Annie Wilson Miller / New Castle, IN

Over a lifetime of gym memberships, various specialty conditioning programs such as certified pilates instruction, a few yoga styles, aerobics and weightlifting coaching by a Mr America in the over 40 class and numerous dance instructors in my specialty field (I have logged a portfolio of over 100 to date)I must say that Rick Huse rates in the upper 5% of all instructors in his knowledge and concern that his students thoughly understand how good technique and body awareness can produce results and more importantly prevent injuries. His dedication to his students is inspiring. My exposure to him was brief but a lasting impression. I had discovered he had an RKC certification to teach Kettlebell technique and I came to him with bruised forearms in my attempts to follow the videos. He carefully watched my technique and when he observed I was having trouble grasping the subtle nuance of getting under the kettlebell before rising, he was able to use several analogies to explain good technique with very clear well modulated vocal instruction. His calmness is very helpful to ease your frustration and get you to think clearly which aids in reducing the pain you sometime suffer when trying to correct nascent bad habits. After this seminar with him, I was able to remember all his instructions to make all the small adjustments in my technique. Rick is well worth your time and I trust and highly recommend him for instruction and coaching.
