10/10 More than just Kettlebells

I had the opportunity to have Michael work with me on some issues I was having with a knee injury that wouldn't seem to go away. Michael did a thorough assessment of my knee and figured out some issues with my hip that were preventing me from moving well. Within a short period of time my squat improved tremendously without any pain. His approach was very thorough and well thought out. I am an RKC and a trainer with over 10 years of experience myself, and I was impressed with Michael and knew he was someone that I could learn a lot from. If you have the opportunity to train with him, I highly recommend it. If we were closer to where I lived I would definitely train with him consistently.
10/10 Life changing

Not only is Michael a gifted trainer, he is one of the most unique individuals I have ever met. His knowledge and understanding of the human body is amazing. He will point out things noone else would ever see or care to see. His capacity to listen and assess what you need physically or spiritually is a gift. He is a very complex man and anyone who has the chance to spend time with him will become a better person because of it.
10/10 Great Team Leader

I had the good fortune to work with Mike Castro as my CK-FMS Team Leader. Mike was instrumental in bringing us together as a group and keeping us on task throughout the weekend. He definitely knew when to reign us in and also knew when we needed to lighten things up a bit - giving us workouts that were fun but made us work in a different way. Mike also took the time to help clean up some things I needed to work on. I look forward to the opportunity to work with MIke again in the future, he's a top-notch RKC Instructor.
10/10 Excellent Team Leader

I was lucky enough to have Michael as Team Leader for my RKC certification in San Jose. He was patient with all of his students the entire weekend, and always offered a smile and words of encouragement.
He always made sure that we were performing what we learned with proper form, yet wasn't overloading us by giving 1000 corrections at a time.
Michael not only cares about teaching people the right way to train, he genuinely cares about the people he trains.
10/10 Train with Michael, it's worth it

Michael has a wonderful style of teaching. He is calm cool and collected, but do not let this fool you! He has a keen eye and pays close attention to detail.
After training with Michael I was able to take my training to the next level. He pointed out some problems with my form that no one had ever caught. (I have been doing Kettlebell for 4 years and trained with other instructors, so this came as a surprise to me.) Now I am able to go longer and feel more comfortable in my body while doing my workout.
I highly recommend this instructor.
P.S. Make sure you follow instructions, he may make you drop and give him 20!:)
10/10 Amazing Instructor - A wealth of knowledge which he is fantastic at teaching to others.

Michael is a true student of the workings of the human body. When he has you perform an exercise, you will not only learn the movement, but also why we do it that way, how the body benefits from it and most importantly, how to not hurt ourselves in the process. His attention to detail and ability to correct your technique with the slightest of tweaks is amazing. Not many instructors can communicate so much so concisely and in such an easy to understand manner.
His calm and upbeat demeanor leads to classes that are fun to be part of, but even though we enjoy them, he makes sure they are very, very demanding. We smile as we sweat and come away from each class with a sense of accomplishment.
