10/10 Excellent Coach and Mentor

By Carol Donahoe / Seattle, USA

I am fortunate to have worked with Kevin professionally for almost three years and in that time it was clear he was more than qualified to prepare me for my RKC. After seeing the care and attention to detail he gave to his clients I knew he would be the perfect choice. As a single mom starting a new career I didn't have a lot of extra time to put toward training but had a long way to go to get ready. Kevin took these things into consideration and planned a program for me that was very doable and also very enjoyable. He became familiar with my strengths and weaknesses and created the delicate balance that it takes to improve both simultaneously. Under his guidance I was able to comfortably pass my RKC and really enjoy the entire experience without worrying about anything. He is extremely knowlegable but also very humble and really loves what he does. The passion that he has for teaching is put toward every program he writes or every session that he teaches. I will continue to train under Kevin's guidance and feel very honored to be considered his peer in this amazing organization.

10/10 One of the BEST

By Heather B / Seattle, US

I began training with Kevin at Kettlebility a little over a year ago. I was unsure what Kettlebells were or how to use them correctly. Kevin walks you through every step in a calm cool very professional manner. He exudes confidence in a way that makes you feel comfortable, safe and like you are being trained by one of the best instantly. He is an expert in Z-Health Performance Solutions which is an art in learning movements that help reduce pain or discomfort. There have been many times where I explained to Kevin how something was hurting me, he showed me a couple of movement drills and wall-la, it felt better. It is truly amazing! Kevin has also supplied me with workouts to take with me when I travel. He customizes it based on where I am going, whether or not I will have a bell and if I don’t he gives alternatives. He goes the extra mile for his clients and training with him has been one of the reasons I continue with Kettlebells and LOVE IT!

10/10 The best I've worked with.

By Chris Wilmott / Seattle, United States

I had been training for RKC and making some good gains, until I injured myself. An old rock climbing injury resurfaced and was giving me a hard time. Not being able to train and not knowing how to change my workouts was taking its toll on me. So with about 5 months until RKC, things were not looking good. Kevin asked one day how things were going and of course my response was "not good." He said "If you want you can work with me; I want you to have a good weekend." So we went to work. Kevin performed a FMS screen on me and started giving me exercises to help my back. Things started coming around and I could train light again. Kevin focuses on every detail; he doesn't miss a beat!. When something isn't working he changes it and checks in with me consistenly, making sure my movements feel good and everything is working. Over time, my strength came back and, on top of that, I got more in return. I was training really hard and consistently and I felt great. Kevin genuinely wants people to succeed and achieve there goals. It was because of Kevin that I not only passed my RKC, but performed well throughout the weekend. The conditioning and strength I gained from Kevin's training allowed me to not ony make it through the weekend, but enjoy myself along the way. If you're looking for someone who pays attention to detail and truly cares about your results, you should be looking up Kevin. Thank Kevin, I truly enjoyed working with you.

9/10 He's good looking too!

By Patty Johnson Patty Johnson / Seattl, Washington, United States

I used to be an avid gym rat, but after a hiatus and a not so brief illness that kept me laying around for awhile, I began working with Kevin. It’s only been a couple of months and I feel so much better already. The other day, while wiping my hands on my leg, I found a muscle I didn’t know I had! Then on a different day, two different women commented on my flat stomach! Two different women, same day! Now, how is that for a ringing endorsement? (He tells me it will get even better.) Kevin has been super patient with me and is teaching me how to work out without hurting myself. Not easy for a woman over 60. His knowledge of human anatomy is truly amazing and I recommend working with Kevin to anyone who will listen.

10/10 Stronger, Looser, and Inspired

By Richard Eckert / Seattle, US

I'm a 47 year-old guy with three college degrees, on financial hard times, and pursuing a new career. I somehow managed to prioritize my health a couple months ago, though, and started working with Kevin. It's apparent to me that he walks the talk. He's truly fit and I learn a lot just by watching him swing the kettlebell around.

But I also learn a lot from how he explains the various details of kettlebell exercise. He has a lot of knowledge and knows how to transmit it to me. He observes me intently and finds out where I really need to shift my focus, then comes up with a working recipe. He will tailor-make workouts just for my strengths/weaknesses and also my life situation. He knows I can't afford to run out and buy a new kettlebell, so he'll say something like, "I'll teach you some exercises designed to help you get the most out of your current kettlebells." And he does.

It's clear to me that he is a student of the discipline, and that makes him a great teacher. He's clearly learned a lot, and has a demonstrated desire to keep learning, but he also has a keen eye for where others, like me, can learn. And I feel great about the work I've done. I'm definitely stronger, looser, and inspired!

9/10 Wow you are looking great!

At 56 this is music to my ears! When neighbors, friends and family freely offer this kind of encouragement I share the stage with my excellent trainer, Kevin Knapp at Kettlebility in Seattle (www.kettlebility.com). After a few classes with Kevin and just 3 private sessions on flexibility and movement I can pick up a dime without groaning and the beginner kettle bell exercises have improved my strength and waistline by 2 inches in just 4 weeks. Kevin also offers lots of sage advice on working with one's mind to bring body, mind and soul into harmony. Kevin and Kettlebility are a complete fitness resource without all the gym rat grunting and macho "no-pain no-gain" nonsense. His gentle manner and humble spirit are matched well with his professionalism and his own personal committment to maximum personal well-being. Thanks, Kevin!

10/10 Awesome Instructor!!!!

By Mario Magallanes / Seattle, USA

Well after a year of toying with the idea of beginning kettlebell training, this past July i finally told myself its time to check it out, and thats when i met Andrea Chang who introduced me to Kevin and most of the Kettlebility team, based out of Seattle, WA. After my first session i had never felt the way i did after training with Kevin, this guy is a great instructor! From breaking down exercises, to his motivational mind set, and just the energy/passion he puts into his art is awesome. I always am geeked out on everything i learn from him at each training session. Just when i think i have a certain exercise down, he always finds a minor/major deficiency that needs work and provides the necessary progression of exercises to increase strength or mobility to help me become better. It sucks to be told what your doing wrong but its better to be safe than sorry, and that just tells me he really cares about his clients and his art of kettlebell training. I am currently working towards my HKC as well as an RKC in the future, and i'm glad to have him as a trainer. I'm glad i stepped up to the plate and have begun my journey with Kevin. So far with the two months i've been training i have seen some pretty amazing results, and i can't wait to learn more. Thanks Kevin!!! And don't worry i'll be bugging the heck out of you in the days to come, ha ha!!!

10/10 The Richard Simmons of Kettlebells

By Siri / Seattle

Just kidding Kevin. But he really is the type of trainer that could get someone off a couch and sweatin to the oldies. Kevin is a FANTASTIC teacher, listener and observer. He is always able to give constructive feedback on form, technique, and always full of new strategies...no workout is ever the same. He familiarizes himself with your strengths and where you need extra attention. He is one of the instructors that has helped Kettlebells change my life.

10/10 70-year-old male learns to deadlift and swing bett

By Keith Stamm / North Seattle

I came to Kevin as a result of becoming aware of strength imbalances from reading "The Four-Hour Body." We did a functional movement screening which made me more aware of the tightness in my hips and hamstrings. He started me on a stretching regimen that has made a big difference. It has helped me with my deadlifting form so I can lift more safely and confidently. I can touch the floor with my hands for the first time in my life. An unexpected benefit was the improved power and consistency in my golf swing, which showed up immediately at my first practice session in months. What a nice surprise! I've gotten help from Kevin I would never get from the trainers at Golds Gym where I train. Kevin is so much more knowledgeable and professional. He's turned me on to Pavel's book "Power To The People" and totally revolutionized my understanding and approach to strength training. Who would believe a 70-year-old man who has trained for years could get stronger and more flexible? I am.

10/10 I hate the Plank - Still like Kevin

By John and Jennifer Weaver / Renton, WA

My husband and I recently discovered kettlebells and found Kettlebility's location online. Curious to learn more, we stopped by and met Kevin. He was very knowledgeable and we liked him instantly. My husband and I are not athletes and have never really been fond of working out. In the past we have struggled to maintain a consistent workout routine. We are just pudgy 30 somethings that would like to look better and be healthy. We meet with Kevin every two weeks and enjoy our sessions. Kevin is very patient and has a genuine interest in our progress. His enthusiasm keeps us on track. The kettlebells work well for us. I would recommend him to anyone that was interested in a healthier lifestyle. He's great.

10/10 Kevin is Excellent

By Patrick / Seattle

Kevin does an excellent job. He has the ability to make you understand both the movement you are making and the reason you are making it. He is professional and thorough. Each time he prepares a summary of what we did and what I should work on for the next session.

10/10 The best of the best

By Sean Andersen / Redmond, WA

Kevin does it all! He is inspiring, he is passionate, he is kind, he is fit, and he is the man! Kevin is genuinely interested in everybody that he trains. He knows how to have fun and get down to business at the same time. I have learned so much from Kevin because he is so willing to help and is so fun to talk to. He has improved my swing, squat, and TGU! I learn something new from Kevin every time I meet with him. If you are interested in moving better, looking better, or feeling better…. schedule a session with Kevin! Oh... and he has the best looking squat in the business!

10/10 Knowledgeable, Patient, and Capable Instructor

By Paul Horoszowski / Central Java, Indonesia

The characteristics I look for in a trainer are: patience, knowledge, enthusiasm, and the ability to instill motivation. Kevin exhibited all of these characteristics in our sessions together. Thanks to his great instruction, I was able to learn snatch fundamentals in just 2 sessions. I'd recommend Kevin in a heartbeat.

10/10 Thats my LIFT!

By Marcus Hooper RKC / Nashville, TN

Kevin is the trainer you want! I have had the pleasure of working with Kevin at both HKC/RKC certs where we instantly clicked. When I first met Kevin I knew I had to grow to get to his level of KB's. Kevin has taught me how to use my LATS in a way that some people could only dream. If your looking for a trainer with passion he is your GUY!

10/10 A kind understanding trainer who took me from bulky and clumsy to Leaner and Stronger...fast

By Tanya Prouty / Tacoma, WA

Kevin Knapp has a true passion and excitement for personal training. Kevin's knowledge and his enthusiasm to train and empower others blew my mind and changed my body and spirit in just a few sessions. I came to Kevin not knowing what to expect. Kevin listened to my goals witch to be honest were all over the place. I told him I had just run my first marathon. I am not built for running. It was the most difficult thing I have ever done. The goal I shared with him was to get stronger, so running would become easier and not such a chore. He already knew I was one of the clumsiest people on the planet and mentioned training with kettlebells would help with that as well. Balance, strength and trust, I was in. After my first session I was hooked. This is huge since I drive up from Tacoma every week for his work outs. Workouts that are always different, challenging and building upon what we did the previous week.
Kevin has a way of breaking things down into manageable pieces. Most important he is diligent on proper form, movement and the why behind it. He takes the time to explain and show what muscles are supposed to be worked with the move, and how they should feel. Because of Kevin's instruction I am more aware of how my body moves together and balances. This enables me to do things at home between sessions. He even writes out notes and diagrams for me to train with proper form at home.
My runs got longer and more intense. I was challenging myself and taking hills and switch backs that I would normally walk, like they were nothing. I was getting good at running. I was getting strong. This went down during the first few Saturday sessions. Two sessions later (5 total) I am writing this. Best of all I am down two sizes, and more balanced. I owe it all to Kevin Knapp and his passion for Kettlebell instruction and commitment to giving his clients the best of himself every time.
Kevin is not only a wonderful trainer but a true inspiration. He changed my body in just a few sessions and it continues to change as I apply daily what he has taught me.

10/10 A massage therapist impressed by KettleBall Training, and Kevin in particular

By Renee Lewis, LMP / Seattle, WA

I've worked out with Kevin about half a dozen times so far, and I've quite enjoyed it, and plan to stick with both Kevin and the Kettle Ball approach for awhile. However, what I thought might be more of interest to anyone reading this would be why I decided to see what it is that he does in the first place.

As a bodyworker/massage therapist, I first met Kevin as a client, one who was six months or more into the shift from computer guy/desk jockey to becoming a personal trainer. The thing that intrigued me was that his muscles were pliable, and he was injury-free. I have rarely if ever met/felt a desk jockey or a personal trainer-type whose muscles feel adequately supple to me. He came in a few months later, a bit bulkier, perhaps, but same general assessment on my part, and a few months later. Always stronger, but still healthy, pliable muscles. Obviously his workout was different than most! So, I had to try the kettle ball thing. And I have. It's an intriguing blend of strengthening both while muscles are elongating or shortening, depending on the movement, and sessions start and finish with stretches that involve moving joints rather than the same old static stretches often offered in gym situations.

Kevin's attention to detail coupled with his friendliness and professionalism should go well with almost anyone seeking to become more body-aware, strong, health conscious, and so on.

10/10 Great results! Fast!

By Matt Klein / Seattle, WA

I started training with Kevin shortly after I entered a new career as a utility power lineman. With an active and demanding job I knew I needed to be in better shape and have better overall flexibility. Kevin designs my workouts to help me perform better on the job. We started from the ground up working on proper form, technique and flexibility while at the same time gaining strength and getting a great cardio workout, he really does do it all.

Often while climbing utility poles I find myself working at awkward angles, or in positions of bad leverage. After discussing this with Kevin he has shown me multiple drills with the kettlebell to help strengthen and stabilize my core muscles without ever doing mindless or boring "ab work". This alone has been worth the price of admission.

Perhaps my favorite part of working with Kevin so far is his attention to detail. He has taken the time to correct my form, and shown me drills that have improved my overall posture, while making me more flexible and more aware of how my body moves and works together. Most of these short drills can be done virtually anywhere, quickly on my own time, and with no equipment. He also takes the time to write up some quick and dirty workouts to do at home between my 1 on 1 sessions, and week by week I am seeing progress and am on my way to reaching my strength and conditioning goals. I am amazed at the the changes I have seen in just under a couple of months.

If you are looking for a personal trainer that will help you reach your goals, is knowledgeable, and practices what he preaches, then you owe it to yourself to give Kevin Knapp a shot!

10/10 An Gentle Trainer Who Made Me Stronger and Leaner With Pain-Free Workouts

By Sallye Soltner / Seattle, WA

After 20 years of not scuba diving, I decided to pick it up again. My concern was that I was older and not in as good of shape as I was then. Kevin and I weighed my equipment - tanks, weight belt, etc. and found that I needed to carry about 100 lbs into and out of the water. My exercises at the gym had been focusing on fat burning and cardio. Kevin developed a stretching plan that helped increase my flexibility, a weight training plan that helped build up my upper body strength, and a balancing/alignment plan that helped with my stability. Several people have already commented on the difference in my shape. I am not dieting, but am changing for the better. In addition, Kevin reviewed my eating choices and made suggestions that have helped me nutritionally. His advice has been invaluable to me and I intend to increase the kettlebells into my workout even more. Kevin's overall knowledge of the dynamics of how the body works, and his skills as a communicator, keeps me choosing him as my personal trainer.

10/10 Kevin is the man

By Russ Fish / Seattle, WA

I've been working out with Kevin off and on since he first got involved with kettlebells, and it's been great to see him grow, both in his own strentgh and in his knowledge of kettlebells, CFT, diet, and a wide variety of related topics. Kevin has moved to a new level with the HKC certification, with many new corrective exercises, variations on existing workouts, etc. etc. It's great to train with someone who gets the connection between diet and strength, and who lives the stuff he talks about. Keep up the good work Kevin!
