Thanks for visiting my Dragon Door RKC Instructor page! My name is Keats Snideman and I am the owner of Reality-Based Fitness LLC, a Strength & Conditioning/Massage center located in Tempe, AZ.
I have been doing personal training/fitness coaching since 1995 and also started studying Neuromuscular massage therapy in the late 90's. Kettlebells have been an integral part of my training process since first being introduced to them in the fall of 2002 and have been using them ever since! I am a lover of all free weights however and also routinely use dumbells, barbells, cables, odd implements, and various bodyweight movements such as basic calisthenics, push-up variations, chins/pull-ups and even skipping and running/sprinting drills with several of my clients. For many of my clients however, I find that kettlebells and bodyweight movements are enough to create dramatic changes in health, body composition, and general fitness qualities (see below).
As a recreational Sub-Master's Sprinter (60m, 100m and 200m Dash), I also have a real joy in teaching some of my more orthopedically healthy clients how to sprint! I would say that my real passion is in improving my client's functional abilities incudling the key biomotor qualities of:
1) Coordination/agility
2) Strength
3) Speed/Power
4) Flexibility/mobility/suppleness
5) Endurance
In the interest of injury prevention, I hold a massage license in the staet of AZ and perform various forms of soft-tissue therapy including Neuromuscular (NMT) Therapy, Fascial release techniqes and sports massage therapy. Additionally, I have studied corrective exercise for over a decade with the most recent addition to this category being the Functional Movement Screen (FMS). I plan to take the CK-FMS in May of 2011 but have already taken the basic FMS certification under Gray Cook and Lee Burton of Functional Movement Systems. Combined with hands-on soft-tissue work, the corrective exercise solutions that I've learned over the years are a potent force to get my clients "back in the game," whether for a specific hobby, sport, or life!
