  • Originally from Wilson, TX, Jason has always had a passion for strength, sports and exercise. He participated in every sport that was offered to him during his childhood and teenage years (Football, Basketball, Track and Field, Tennis, Soccer, Baseball and Golf). His passion for strength and the development of the human body continued into college where he earned a BS in Exercise and Sport Science from Texas Tech University. Since then he has continued to broaden his knowledge in the strength game by participating in power lifting meets with current competition bests of: Squat ? 452 lbs., Bench ? 320 lbs., and Dead Lift ? 562 lbs. ? @ 191 lbs. Body Weight in the 198 lb. Division. He has also posted recent bests of: Squat - 445 lbs., Bench - 297 lbs., and Dead Lift - 551 lbs. - @ 178 lbs. Body Weight in the 181 lb. Division. His Dead Lift of 551 lbs. in the 181 lb. class earned him an American Record in his age division. Also a 573 lb Dead Lift at 177 lbs Body Weight at the Raw Unity Meet in Tampa Bay, FL in Jan of 2010...Good enough for 2nd place in the Lightweight category and an overall personal best.
  • With the help of the Kettlebell, Jason is now able to practice his passion for teaching in addition to learning as much as he can about the benefits and many uses of the Kettlebell. He is in love with everything about strength training, conditioning and physical transformation....the fight, discipline, trial and error, dedication and intelligence it takes to achieve tangible goals drives him to be the best at what he does.
  • He also currently enjoys several hobbies which include Mountain Biking and Snowboarding.
  • He completed his Russian Kettlebell Challenge certification in October of 2007. He has been training a host of clients from all walks of life at his training facility in Lubbock, TX (Lone Star Kettlebell). Some of his accomplishments include completing the Certified Kettlebell - Functional Movement Specialist (CK-FMS) certification, completing the RKC Level II course, and serving as an Assistant Instructor at various Level I and Level II RKC workshops . He was honored in 2010 with the promotion to RKC Team Leader.
  • Jason is available through email: jason@lonestarkettlebell.com and phone: 806 773-3735 if you are interested in taking your training to the next level.

10/10 The Best of the Best

By Chris Roche / Brownsburg, United States

Jason was my team leader during the RKC Level 1 training in St. Paul April 29 - May 1, 2011. As anyone who has attended the training, it's tough - a lot of information to process, a great deal of physical and mental training, few breaks offered and a pretty high level of effort and stress is involved. Jason was great at helping us to stay focused and as relaxed as possible. He and his team of assistants were constantly in contact and communication with us - it started at the Thursday evening meet and greet and didn't end until the final "farewell's" on Sunday evening.

For better or worse, I did not pass my strength test nor my snatch test. As a result, Jason offered to help me, via online coaching, to get up to speed and pass my test. Through his continued support and training suggestions, I was able to pass both tests and become part of the RKC community of instructors.

I've been a trainer and coach for over 18 years and have seen every kind of coach there is and I can tell you that Jason is one of the best - focused, caring, knowledgeable, encouraging, and driven. Oh, and he's one STRONG dude as well!

10/10 Strength is a skill and Jason has it!

By Dave Redden / Williamsville, VT., USA

Jason's no frills approach to moving big weights with easy form includes a clear understanding that limited mobility hinders strength moves. He has the simple tools to change movement patterns even in stubborn old athletes. He gave me the drills to free my thoracic mobility in ways that a Physical Therapist and myself a trained coach simply failed. My strength gains were immediate and continue to improve. There is good and simple technique behind the truth that Jason is pound for pound probably the strongest man I have met in 45 years. I will remain grateful.

10/10 Where do I start?

By Mark Wechter / Turnersville, NJ, USA

I can't say enough about Jason's instruction. Jason was my team leader at the RKC in May. As a teacher and coach of twenty years, I was in awe of his command on the expectations of the RKC. He applied tough love while teaching us every "little" detail. He took the time to correct my mobility issues that forged me ahead to be able to pass the RKC. Thanks Jason!

10/10 "When are we going to get started?"

By Elliott Stanton / Lubbock, TX

Being Jason's next door neighbor, I have had a chance to get to know him over the last 7 years. Yes, I have known Jason for 7 years. Unfortunately, I have only been training with him for 7 months. My work as a landscaper is very demanding and I always wanted to work out, but just felt too tired at the end of the day. After succumbing to several physical conditions, borderline high blood pressure, a hernia, acid reflux, etc. My doctor advised me to lose 50 lbs this year. Upon hearing about all my problems I thought I had, Jason's only response was, "When are we going to get started?" Luckily for me, that was the next Tuesday and I haven't looked back. I have lost 55 lbs in 7 months, gained core strength that I never thought I could, have increased stamina and flexibility, and have had a ton of fun. Yes, the work outs are tough, but it never seems like work, just the next challenge! If you are ready to change your life, give Jason a call!

10/10 We are Marshall!

By Matt Barrack / Waterloo SC

Jason was my team leader during the RKC. He made it one of the best and most refreshing expierences of my life! He never let me slide one bit, even when I thought I was doing everything right he would point out a subltle little move that I wasn't doing which made a big improvement. I have had an issue with all my phyisical activity where I favor my left side even though I'm right handed. Over the course of the weekend talking to him about it and putting more focus into the foundation moves has all but elimanated it. I still have lots of work to do but I have him to thank for helping me on my journey to extraordinary strength!

10/10 The Awesome Beastmaster of Awsomeness

By Paul Seaver / Rochester, MN

How can you rate a guy a 9 when he's a 10? Well let me tell ya this fella from Texas is great man with a big heart. He truly cares for his clients and his comrades. Another really cool thing about Jason is that he is as strong on the outside as he is on the inside. That says a lot about a man. His passion for people and their health and performance is second to none. This you can feel after spending a short amount of time with him. His witty humor and lust for life transcended into his training, he is a blast to be around and will motivate you to be a better person. I can honestly say my life has improved by having Jason spend some time directing me in my fitness goals, which now thanks to him, are shattered and set higher yet again! If I could be at like 5/8ths Jason Marshall Strength that would be awesomeness. Thanks Jason. Go Team Marshall!

10/10 Outstanding RKC instructor and RKC Team Leader

By Linda Mertens / Owner Fusion FItness LLC

I had the pleasure of assisting on Jason's Team at the April 2011 RKC in St. Paul MN. Jason is nothing but a true professional and a role model in the RKC community. His leadership and teaching skills are outstanding. He made an effort to work with each candidate individually over the weekend on kettlebell skills. His dedication to his team was above and beyond the call of duty. It was a complete honor to work with him and learn from him as well. If you have an opportunity to train with Jason take it. You will be amazed how much you improve your kettlebell skills

10/10 Where do I begin?

By Sheena Lance-Nold / Omaha, NE

Jason was my Team Leader at RKC in April. I prepared with RKCs Mark and Nikki Snow, so I felt pretty confident in my skills. Jason confirmed my confidence, but also gave me some tips to help improve my skills. This experience, with Jason's guidance, has changed my life in so many ways. He is so passionate about RKC, and that passion reflects in everything he does. Every skill had to be performed to standards during our practice, or he would correct us and make sure we knew what to do to improve. I felt fully confident during our skill testing, because he had told us what we needed to work on throughout the whole weekend. I would highly recommend Jason Marshall to anyone interested in learning more about kettlebell, or preparing for RKC!

10/10 True Instructor

By Kurt Hartmann / Pro Fitness Training - Eden Prairie

It was truly an honor to work with Jason at the RKC certification. He is a great Team Leader! His knowledge and passion are a rare and much needed combination among trainers. His ability to instruct and promote quality movement is extremely impressive. Not to mention his strength is almost unmatched. Thanks for everything Jason, hope our paths cross again soon.

10/10 He is Great

By Jonathan and Kati Jasinski / Leander, TX

When my wife and I moved to Lubbock we never thought that we would find such a well-known instructor. He did a great job in tailoring the work outs to our abilities and needs. He was very knowledgeable and answered our questions thoroughly. If he didn't have the answer right then he researched it and gave us what he found. The work outs always pushed us just enough and for long enough. We have never felt better. Thank you Jason, you did a great job.

Memoirs From The Platform

Jul 14, 2011 01:00 PM

Powerlifting is a thankless sport. I’ve learned a lot from my experience, especially in the last few years. I’ve had a little success, set some meet records, had amazing training sessions, set some huge gym PR’s, AND had some great disappointment too. I was lucky enough to be offered the opportunity to lift on the Power To The People Deadlift Team...

A Pressing Matter

I remember hanging out at my buddy’s (Alan Martin, RKC) house when his first set of kettlebells came in. He ordered 5 bells. A 16kg, 24kg, 32kg, 40kg and 48kg. After the UPS guy finished cussing us, we opened the first box…which one do you think we opened first? The 48kg, of course! And the first thing we did with it?
