By trade I'm both a public school teacher (11+ years) and a martial arts instructor at Integrity Martial Arts Academy of Fort Branch, IN. I've invested several years of training, competing, and teaching the martial arts. Although it has been enjoyable, I've found it hard to balance my family life, school teaching, martial arts teaching, and personal training. I needed to find a practical way to improve my cardio and strength from home with my kids and avoid a constant time consuming trip to the gym. One day while thumbing through a magazine, I saw a picture of my martial arts instructor (Guro Dan Inosanto) holding up a huge cannonball with a handle. In short, I bought some of my own and have been swinging ever since. I found that through proper kettlebell training that I could not only make incredible gains in cardio and functional strength, but I could rehab many past martial arts injuries and even do some injury prevention work on my joints (especially important in Brazilian JiuJitsu training). I am confident that any athlete or individual who aims to improve their strength, cardio, and/or mobility would greatly benefit from training with Kettlebells. While traditional weightlifting is based on a bodybuilding paradigm, kettlebell training revolves around developing functional or tactical strength. However the key is to learn the correct form and training methods from a competent and certified instructor. There's lots of videos out there that show you some bad and some good kettlebell training methods. Do the research and you'll see that Pavel Tsatsouline's Russian Kettlebell method is the BEST and most highly recognized Kettlebell training program. I'm proud to have put the time and training in to learning and passing Pavel's HKC Instructor's test. I've learned a lot and continue to learn more. I'd be happy to share what I've learned with you. If you live in or near Gibson County and you're ready to challenge yourself in a new way, improve your overall fitness, and actually enjoy the process then you should contact me today. 10/10 Highly Recommend

By Andy Scamman / Fort Branch, IN

I had been working with kettlebells for about 6 months....or so I thought. In just a few lessons with Sensei Birch I discovered that I was nowhere near training to full potential. By tweaking a stance here, offering a tip there and always making sure I'm using correct form, he has opened my eyes to just how awesome (and practical) kettlebell training is.

I would highly recommend Sensei Birch to anyone who wants to take their training to another level. The atmosphere is relaxed and informative and the training is never rushed. If you're looking for a challenge that's not the same old bench presses you've been doing for years, give him a call.
