Katie brings over 18 years of teaching experience to her classes. She is a teacher by profession and choice. Katie has the unique ability to connect with her clients regardless of their background and experience with weight training.
Katie began training kettlebells with Laura Spaulding, RKC, to support her Ashtanga yoga practice. Quickly she realized what a great complement they were to her practice. She has trained with Pavel Tsatsouline, RKC, Valery Federenko, AKC, Mark Reifkind, Master RKC, David Whitley, Senior RKC, Dave Randolph, RKC, and Steve Cotter, FullKontact Kettlebells and is certified by RKC (Russian Kettlebell Challenge Certification) and AKC (American Kettlebell Club Coaching Certification ).
As a youth, Katie was a competitive gymnast and competed in regional and national competitions. She coached at International Gymnastics Training Camp in Stroudsburg, PA and the Chambersburg High School Women’s Gymnastics Team. She stayed involved in the growth of her YMCA team and taught ballet and gymnastics in summer camps.
These days, in addition to yoga, she takes extended backcountry trips, climbs recreationally, swims and generally keeps moving!
Her mental toughness and passion for kettlebells is evident as is her talent in tailoring her kettlebells classes for each client. She is a standout. An intuitive sense and practical experience with kettlebells will support you to explore with confidence this excellent strength and endurance tool.
Kettlebells were just what I was looking for to work on core and functional strength. Katie has been the reason I've been so sucessful. Her classes are challenging for everyone no matter what their ability level is.

Katie is my first kettlebell instructor. I have been training with Katie for about 3 months now. In that time, with her guidance and inspiration I have blasted numerous personal records i.e. military press, Turkish Get-Ups, and help with pistols. Her teaching style is unique, incorporating yoga stretching, calisthenics, and Russian strength training. I highly recommend that anyone with interest in kettlebell training in this area seek out Katie's instruction.

I started with Katie as a kettlebell fledgling. Katie's well rounded mix of progessive bell work and corrective strategies have tremendously improved my workouts. I still consider myself a novice kettlebeller, but my body is responding in a positive manner to Katie's style of training. I recommend Katie to anyone looking for a good workout. Her style is gentle, yet persuasive ;)
