I have lived in Fuquay-Varina my whole life. I attended NC State University where I received a B.S. in Statistics. I know sounds like a great degree, turns out, it wasn't my calling. I am currently a fire fighter and an RKC II instructor. I have always had a passion for health and fitness. I believe this is my purpose in life, to help people get healthy. For most of my life, I have been constantly researching, reviewing and experimenting with fitness concepts. Then one day, I found kettlebells. I haven't been the same ever since. I beleive this is one of the best tools for getting healthy, being strong, and getting results. Life is movement. Using kettlebells can teach you how to move. And if all of that weren't enough, it's fun. Really fun. If you want results, pick up a kettlebell and swing into action!

Tim and I have been working together for a couple of months. During this time my range of motion has improved dramatically. The changes being made with his training are improving my quality of life on the whole as well as my bike riding. When I am participating in an activity I hear Tim's voice in my head. By following the things he is teaching me I can be pain free and maintain a better fitness level.
I would recommend Tim as an instructor anytime, anywhere, to anyone!

I found out about Tim and kettlebells when looking for a new exercise that would allow my husband and I to work out together. We trained with Tim as a couple. He was very knowledgeable and fun to work with. It's been a bonding experience for my husband and I. I can see great results after a few months. I began training with Tim several weeks ago (May,08) I needed to learn how to workout again after suffering a neck injury nearly 8 yrs. ago. Going to the gym became a chore for me. My ability to lift was slim to none. I ended up only doing cardio and becoming very bored and frustrated. Tim introduced me to kettlebells. I wasn't sure in the beginning if I would like this type of training. He assured me I would see results, feel better, and strengthen my very weak neck and shoulder. He was right! I enjoy kettlebells a great deal. I no longer dread the gym. I have no pain and I am already seeing results and feeling much stronger. I am 43 and I very much wanted to feel physically fit again.....it gets harder when you get older! Tim has made it possible for me to get back my competitive edge. Tim has certainly made my workouts more fun and much more productive! Kettlebells are the most efficient way to exercise ever. Tim is patiently training me, teaching me how to do this safely, even with a chronic neck condition. I like to stay in shape and try my best to take care of this body God has given me. Yet I found treadmills, stationary bikes, etc. to be boring, making it hard to stay motivated with such routines. But with kettlebells, there is always something new to learn and the constant challenge of maintaining good form. Another blessing is meeting new friends at the gym who also take Tim's classes. We enjoy cheering each other on. We are all amazed at the difference we see and feel after just a few months.
I highly recommend Tim Anderson. He is a wonderful person and an excellent, extremely knowledgeable trainer.

I have been weight training for almost 17 years. After putting on lots of muscle, I began to feel like I was overtraining and getting bored with the weights, and I also needed to lean out my physique a bit. I have seen Tim several times training with kettlebells and have always wanted to try some form of functional strength training, but was skeptical of how to go about doing it. I have been training with Tim just a few weeks, but have felt muscles being worked in my body like never before!!! Tim's instruction is clear, easy to understand, and professional. He is patient, willing to work with me to achieve my goals, and I look forward to eventually training entirely with kettlebells, giving up weights for good!! I found kettlebell training almost three months ago, and have been hooked ever since. I also found that the more I trained with the kettlebells the more my hunger for more instruction grew. So in an effort to find the best instructors I looked to Dragondoor for information. I strongly believe that I found the best in Tim; he started my instruction from the ground up. I was impressed at how he was concerned that I got what I was looking for. He opened my eyes to a whole new muscle awareness in my training. I had to travel almost 3 1/2 hours to train with him, but now would travel an even greater distance to receive that kind of instruction. It is my opinion that if you want the best results you have to have the best instructors, and I believe that you will find that in Tim.

I had been working with kettlebells off and on for over a year and a half and was looking for guidance in form and technique. While looking for an instructor in the area I opened up the option for my girlfriend to attend sessions with me. She was hesitant and skeptical that this was what she would like, being that she did try some exercises with me before, but was willing to give it another shot. To my surprise she enjoyed the first session and was willing to attend the next. What we both like about Tim was that he was able to work with us at our goals when they were very different in many ways. We have enjoyed the sessions with Tim and he gives the confidence that is needed especially when you may not be confident in what you are doing, and this was the case especially for my girlfriend. With the proper guidance and help we are receiving, our goals will definitely be met with great success!!

Tim Anderson is an excellent instructor and so knowledgeable of kettlebells. I had a problem with my right shoulder from a dance class I had taken about a year ago after doing kettlebells the problem is gone and I'm pain free. I feel stronger healther and believe me I'm no spring chicken but thanks to Tim Anderson and Kettlebells I feel like one and I finally found a exercise I love doing. Tim made a trip over to my house today to teach me and 2 of my friends how to use kettlebells effectively and to get us started on this journey. I too was very happy with Tim's instruction ! He is patient and worked with us each individually and as a group. He really knows what he is doing. I have watched dvds and read books about the kettlebell moves - swings, turkish get-ups, cleans, snatches, etc.... but they were nothing like having someone there to show you, watch you and work with you till you got it right. I really am pleased with what I have learned from Tim today.

I have thoroughly enjoyed working out with Tim. His concern for safety and correct body mechanics is first and foremost. Tim also follows up with you to make sure things are going well and to see if you also have any questions. The kettlebell workouts are strenuous but fun. Even without ever touching a kettlebell I knew my goal was to become a RKC Instructor. Within minutes of meeting Tim at his kb workshop, I knew I had come to the right man to help me reach that goal. Tim has the focus and patience of a wonderful teacher. His instruction was very clear and his recommendations were easy to understand and implement. I feel like Tim takes great interest in his clients and students and is genuinely concerned with their progress. I would highly recommend Tim as an instructor. It is every bit worth the two hour trip up to work with him.

I have only had 2 training sessions with Tim and am really loving this new way of exercise. Tim is a wonderful teacher, great with explainations and demonstration. I really look forward to my workouts and love that I can get a great workout in 30 minutes. Not only does Tim make sure my form is correct during our training, but he always follows-up in between my sessions to see if I have any questions and to find out how I am doing. I was very happy with Tim's training session. I had knee surgery in March 2006 and have been having problems finding workouts that will strengthen by body without hurting my knee. He was extremely helpful in the safety aspect of the KB training along with teaching the different exercises. I am so excited to find a exercise that is fun along with being good for you. Can't wait to get to train again with Tim.

Tim is a great instructor and is very intelligible about different fitness concepts and nutrition. Tim helped me gravitate from traditional weight lifting exercises to combining strength and cardiovascular into one workout.It has been great. I can raise my heart rate in a shorter amount time, improve flexibility, and build strength in 1/3 of the time from my previous workouts.
Tim has been very patient with me. I had the privilege of working with Tim for approximately 8 months. During this time he critiqued my form and technique on a daily basis. This constructive criticism has given me the confidence to structure my workouts around a 70 lb. kettle-bell. I always look forward to working with Tim because I know that he will always have something new for me to try. Thanks Tim

Tim Anderson introduced me to kettlebell training at the firehouse not long ago, that day my life changed for the better. The tools he has been teaching me have impowered my mind and body. When you are being trained by a person with so much passion and intensity you can not helped but be motivated. Every time I pick up my kettlebell I feel like I am perfecting my craft. I workout daily now, not because I have to but because I want to. There is nothing in the world like finishing a set of Swings or Turkish get ups. The power and control you will have is unbelievable. With Tim's knowledge and help I know I can achive the body I want. Kettlebell training is a way of life for me now the results have been fantastic.

Tim introduced me to kettlebells and changed the way I work out in 15 minutes. As an avid weight lifter I understand the importance of fitness but often got bored with my workouts. I was constantly doing bench and getting bigger but not fitter. My aerobic work was definitely lacking. Tim's instructions made grasping the kettlebell concept simple and fun. I was sucking wind in a few reps but it was one of the most exciting and fun workouts I have ever had. Tim's instruction changed the way I tackle the gym from now on.

I think Tim's greatest strength is his passion for helping people find their way to fitness. He has always been helpful to me with my workouts, but since I started with kettlebells with him he has gotten me to train on a totally different level. I have always amazed at how knowledgeable Tim is about fitness, but since we have been working with the kettlebells, I have seen him demonstrate patience second to none. He doesn't mind helping people develop their form repetition after repetition. I have been lifting weights for years, but never enjoyed it or got as much out of it as I do the kettlebells under his guidance. I worked in our training group at the fire department for many years until recently going back out on shift as a Battalion Chief. While I love my new position, it brings a less structured schedule, fewer days on duty (therefore fewer with access to our weight equipment), and less time to spend working out. Tim has shown me how to maximize the time I spend in PT, so I am getting a better workout now in less time than I did before. We may end up on fire calls through our PT time and on into the morning, but you can always squeeze 20-30 minutes into the day, so there is a continuity to training that I couldn't achieve even when I came in to work early for it five days a week. Captain Lee invited me to join them for a workout not quite a month ago, and commented that this workout is not just great for physical conditioning, but mental fitness. I admit I was a bit skeptical about that part, but it is one of the most satisfying parts of the program. There is something about pushing through those last seconds of the one-minute drills, and not quitting, that builds a sense of accomplishment and confidence that picks you up and energizes you for the rest of the day. Thanks, Tim, for all your hard work, and bringing a great program to us.

I work with Tim at the fire department. I watched him train others in the station but wasn't convinced enough to change my routine that I had been doing for 21 years. I started sneeking around using others kettle bells to see what it was about. I found out that I wasn't as strong and fit as I thought I was. I got Tim to help me learn the swing and the Get-up. Time was patient and very attentive to my lack of coordination. He helped me learned the proper techniques for these two exercises and introduced me to a routine on DVD that enhanced my workout. Tim was such a valuable resource to all of us at the fire station. Everyday he would work with us on technique so that we would stay safe in our workouts. He would critique our exercises as we did them and offer ways that we could improve. I have been working out with kettle bells since May and have not felt this strong and connected to my body since I was in my early twenties. I had back problems last year a couple times. My back constantly stayed in a bind after these problems. Since I have been working out with kettle bells my back has felt great. I contribute my new found feeling of strength to Tims introduction of kettle bells to the department and his time and patience with keeping us on the right track. Tim is an excellent instructor, down to earth, and a great person to boot. Thank you for all your guidance.

As an older trainee (i.e., 60 years of age) with a bad hip, I received excellent instruction from Tim Anderson. He was able to address my problem and offer KB exercises to strengthen and rehabilitate my hip. During my session with Tim, he was able to offer insights into the KB exercises that I could not have gotten from books or DVDs. Also, partaking in the session with Tim was a younger trainee (i.e., 22 years of age). Tim addressed that trainees problems also so that we both got maximum benefits from the session. I highly recommend Tim as a KB trainer, no matter what your age or training experience.

As Tim's wife, I'm biased about his instruction skills; however, I have to write what my kettlebell training experience has done for me, especially since I have a unique health situation. I have a horrible back. I wore back braces for scoliosis during middle school and part of high school. The braces left me very inflexible and weak. Every summer since those braces, I haven't been able to get up on one ski (deep water start) at the lake - my back just couldn't handle the drag, year after year. There were other things I couldn't do, but this one bothered me the most! In my mid twenties, I worked out very regularly at the gym (traditional exercises), and I thought I was in the best shape of my life. For one time one summer, I actually pulled out of the water on a slalom ski - it was so hard to hang on to the rope, but I did it. Then within a 3 year time span, I had two kids, and then became extremely ill - hospitalized for almost a month. I lost half a lung and a section of a rib bone, plus my lat muscle was cut during surgery. At 5'11", I wasted away to 112 lbs. The last two years since my surgery have been a slow climb back up to a normal weight, and I've always considered myself in rehab mode ever since. Now, for the last 6 months, I've been training with kettlebells - swings, snatches, windmills and side presses. My back has felt the most flexible and stable than it has in years, not to mention I've made the best progress rehabbing my surgery site (shoulder and lat area). This past week at the annual lake trip, I decided to try to slalom ski starting in the deep water. I pulled right up on the second try - and it wasn't even that hard to handle the drag! I was on cloud nine! After the surgery I've been through, plus with the loss of so much muscle mass through the healing process, I never really imagined my core and upper body would have the strength that it used to have at what I thought was its prime. I still don't have all of my muscle mass back, but I'm so much more flexible than I've ever been, and I know how to use what muscle I have. I'm thrilled with the results of my kettlebell training!

My son and I have worked with Tim for over two years now. The results have been fantastic. My son plays high level 4A baseball and will be playing college ball this year on scholarship.I credit Tim with 90% of making this happen. My son is stonger both physically and mentally.The confidence that comes along with working with Tim is worth its weight in GOLD. Tim is also big on nutrition, and knows what and how to eat, and what healthy supplements to use. I would recommend Tim to anyone who wants results and the confidence that comes along with working with an expert. In additon, Tim is a person of high character and fun to be around.

Our son, Jesse plays baseball and everyone was telling us he needed to get a trainer. Luckily we found Tim. His knowledge in movement, nutrition and how to train the body properly has made tremendous changes in Jesse's quickness and strength. We purchased kettlebells for Jesse and Tim has given him assignments to do at home in between training sessions that helps him to stay in a good routine. Tim has been a consultant and friend and Jesse looks forward to his workouts with him. I would highly recommend Tim and Kettlebells!

Tim is a special personal trainer. His thirst for knowledge is evident. He continually is taking courses and attending seminars to better his training technique. The reason he is special though is because his passion is to geniunely help his clients bodies heal and function optimal. He is driven by a greater passion than just helping clients attain the physical appearance they desire, he wants their bodies to look healthy from the inside out. His drive is so much deeper than surface level. He is intent about enabling the nervous system to function as it was created to, so that people can get long lasting results that help live pain free and stay that way. Not only does he train his clients, but he educates them to train himself. I can say all these things from experience. Tim has taken selfless hours to invest in helping to correct my nervous system. He has helped get my body functioning and responding like it used to before I was in horrible car accident, so that I can play soccer at my best for my last season at Campbell University. His time, effort, and care have truly been a blessing in my life.

Tim is a great instructor whose attention to detail is greatly appreciated. He incorporates his vast Z-health knowledge along with his kettlebell training which is a very beneficial factor. He is very friendly and encouraging, you will not be intimidated by him. I highly recommend seeking him out for some kettlebell training no matter what your goals. However, he does have a set of blue camoflauge shoes which make me question his sexual orientation even though he's married. :)

Tim and I were assistance on Team Jones in April 2009. I had the chance to witness Tim in action as we helped to fine tune a group of RKC Candidates. Tim has an eye for detail and a down-to-earth teaching style. His sense of humor makes learning fun and his energy is inspiring. Tim is a Z-Health certified trainer, which makes him a well rounded in the world of movement. His technique is flawless and precise.

I too am partial as I am Tim's "mom-in-law." But I'm also a 24-year-breast cancer survivor who learned in July 2004 after being cancer-free for 19 years that the breast cancer had resurfaced with metastases throughout my bones. Needless to say I deal with many physical issues with the numerous treatment protocols that I have already had and will continue to undergo. Tim amazes me in that he researches training approaches and is eager to help when I solicit his advice and expertise. He has both a passion for the knowledge he needs to help the rest of us live life more fully and the compassion that helps him relate to those with whom he works. While I am not able to work with kettlebells, his expertise with Z-health and his overall approach to fitness and training surely have helped me and the others with whom I have watched him work.
