Got Grip?

Denise is one strong grandmother!

After this brutal circuit, E. pressed an 80 lb kettlebell then did a 1 arm pushup. You get more than mediocre fitness with me!

Group classes are hard work and lots of fun with good camaraderie. You will get lots of personal attention from me.

Who says models can't be strong and tough? Challenge Jenny to a pull-up contest!

Deadlifts for a toned strong body, Shari is working her way up to some big numbers and the results are showing!

Brian enjoying a favorite past-time. Lifting heavy stuff.

And an athlete you will become, even if you don't play a sport. As our grandmother Denise said, "prepare to feel empowered!"

I cycled 150 miles for the first time!! Rated 10 out of 10
I want to thank you for your support in my very successful quest for the 2-day, 150 mile Bike MS tour. I did very little on-the-bike training this year, with only a handful of training rides under my belt. I'm convinced that it was Kettlebell training that made the difference. So thank you for all the 5 minute swing tests, all the dead lifts, pistols and front squats, all the Tabata drills (especially the Tabata's!) ;) and all the Z-health! My knees thank you too, as I had NO knee pain on the bike for the first time in 3 years, while clocking more miles than in my past 2 attempts at this event!!

I know you say that your KB method is not meant for training for long endurance events, but I respectfully disagree. That might be the case if I was going at really fast racing speeds, but at my personal best charity ride pace I had so much endurance, especially on the first day! I only felt winded on the climbs. And I know that it was the raw strength and confidence I've gained that got me up those hills with more ease than ever before! There were even times along the way where my husband had a hard time keeping up with me - which never used to happen.

I have also gained a bragging husband. A motorcycle trooper who was volunteering on the route came up next to us on one of the bigger climbs. Scott jokingly made a gesture to him about them switching bikes. The trooper said if Scott could get 5 miles ahead of me then they could switch bikes, but that he was rooting for me. My husband said, "I know, have you seen those guns on her?" He then asked me to tell the trooper what I dead lift. I'm a small-framed woman at 5'4" and I get a kick out of shocking people by telling them that I dead lift 176 lbs, which is almost 1 1/2 times my body weight! And I love that my husband gets a kick out of bragging like that.

To top it all off, I had a massage therapist compliment me this weekend. A friend of our team captain came up to give chair massages to the team on Saturday. She told me that I was so toned it was difficult to tell on me what was a toned muscle vs. a tight muscle!!

Saying I'm thrilled with all this is an understatement. A word to the women out there who think that they can't lift that much, or do a certain exercise - yes you can!! And you won't get bulky, masculine muscles doing so. You'll get people noticing and complimenting you on how toned you look and you'll get the confidence to try things you never thought you could do.

Improve Core Strength and Reduce Low Back Pain Rated 10 out of 10
My Chiropractor referred me to Brian and kettlebells. I was looking to improve my core strength and reduce the pain in my lower back. I have seen definite improvements in both, as well as I have decreased the pain I had in my shoulders.

I really like the strength I get from kettlebells and how it translates into everyday activities, it makes them easier. I would absolutely recommend that you train with Brian!

Best Results in 10 Years! Rated 10 out of 10
I've been lifting weights for about 10 years, and I've been using kettlebells for about 3 years. I considered myself to be pretty knowledgeable in the ways of strength and conditioning, but I thought I'd try some professional advice.

I've been using Brian's services for about 4 months and here is an example of what he's done for me. I was in the gym on my back-off/rest week just trying to do 60% of my normal workout, and some friends of mine were jabbing at me a bit because I don't workout "normal" like them. They sort of challenged my man hood and so I took them up on a bench press test which is supposed to be the true measure of a man. Now I haven't done any bench press at all for about 5 months, or anything that I can imagine directly worked my chest, but I amazed even myself with the results. I put on a little weight to "warm up", added a little more, and kept going until I benched 285lbs with relative ease and I just quit there because I didn't really want to max and ruin my week off, or hurt myself. I didn't get it. I never lifted that much weight with such ease even when I was doing a lot, and I mean a lot, of bench press. The weight just seemed to fly up like someone else was helping me.

In the 10 years of lifting before I started working with Brian, I've never been able to improve my total body strength and conditioning so effectively in such little time.

Thanks Brian.

Top 1% of patients in the 50 year old bracket Rated 10 out of 10
Last month I had my checkup and the doc said at 57 years young I was in the top 1% of his patients in the 50 year old bracket. My left shoulder is just about 95% better thanks to your help with the joint mobility and other tips. I can finally press the 28kg for singles without any pain with my left arm, slow but sure.

By the way, keep up the great news letter, I look forward reading it every month. It always has some great tips.

If only I lived in Denver! Rated 10 out of 10
I would definitely recommend Brian to others!

If I lived in the Denver area, I'd be a regular client of Brian's!
I have been working out with kettlebells for about 3 months, using a video, but wasn't sure if I had the technique and form quite right.

I was searching in Google online for kettlebell instructors or classes and ran across Brian's Core Fitness website. There is a wealth of information on his site and when I saw where his studio is located, I thought "hmmm, I'm flying into Denver for a long weekend in Colorado Springs and maybe I can scheduled an hour session with Brian to get some personal instruction using kettlebells." Brian was great about accommodating my flight schedule so we could fit a training session in the morning I arrived before I drove down to Colorado Springs.

My training session with Brian was amazing! He showed me where my form was off and what to do to correct it. His instruction included explaining (in layman's terms) how improper form can result in injury. Brian gave me practice exercises to do once I returned home to reinforce the correct technique & form. It was also very helpful to get his recommendation on what size kettlebell(s) I should use. I was pretty much in the dark when I bought my kettlebells and guessed at the size to use.

After working with Brian, I discovered that I am stronger than I thought I was and can handle a heavier weight kettlebell than what I had previously been using.

Later that day, Brian sent me an email summarizing all the information we had gone over so I have it to reference now that I'm back in Virginia. I will definitely stay in touch with Brian and hopefully get a chance to work with him again in the future.

Technique comes first Rated 10 out of 10
I am have a B.S. in Exercise Science and am studing to become a CHEK practioner. I purchased some kettlebells for some variety in training for my clients and myself. I purchased some private sessions with Brian after a referal from a friend. I thought Brian could show me a couple pointers as how to properly train with kettlebells. By the fist lesson I learned that I had greatly underestimated the intricacies of true kettlebell training. I was so impressed with Brain and the RKC that I am going to get certified this summer. To help me prepare Brian developed a home program that I have no doubt will get me where I need to be in time for the certification. As a fitness professional I would highly recomend Brian not only for his kettlebell knowledge, but also his knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and his easy to follow teaching style.

I Never Thought I'd Be Complimented On My Abs!!! Rated 10 out of 10
My husband was a very happy client of Brian's so I decided to give it a shot. I wanted to increase my strength, flexibility and tone. I also hoped to improve some chronic pain situations I had experienced for a number of years.

Now my strength has improved considerably. I am happy with the improvement in the tone and shape of my body and the chronic pain in my elbow, neck and shoulder that I have had for years has significantly decreased!

The variety and flexibility of the workouts that Brian provides keeps me interested. I find the repetitive nature of other workout regimens to be boring and I don't tolerate boredom/repetition well.

Several friends, coworkers and family members have complemented me on my thinner, more fit appearance. Comments like, "Boy your pants are really baggy!" and "Have you lost weight?" allow me to tell them about my work with Brian. I never thought I would be complemented on my abs - but I have been.

How exciting!!!

I recommend Brian to all of my friends, family and coworkers, and to anyone reading this testimonial.

A Gifted Instructor Rated 10 out of 10
Brian is a gifted instructor with a keen eye for form and for what can work for each individual. Not only does he bring enthusiasm and a sense of humor to his training, but a wide understanding of joint, muscle anatomy and function which is so important for injury prevention and rehab. If Brian's martial arts and sports background, combined with his first hand experience with severe back injury and his own incredible recovery into a pain free 'strong man' isn't enough, his ever increasing physical knowledgebase - which now includes material written on grip training - makes him the right man to work with. I recommend his training and coaching style highly for anyone who is interested in pursuing kettlebells, strength and fitness!

I send my Patients to Brian Rated 10 out of 10
I feel 100% comfortable sending my patients to Brian. His knowledge base is exceptional and his attention to detail is phenomenal.

If you suffer from a previous weakness, Brian will find it and make it strong.

Brian keeps his classes lively and challenging. Who would guess that working out could be fun? Well it actually is! Plus the results speak for themselves. At first I was hesitant with Kettlebells, but in studying the ideas behind the movements and feeling what the movements do for me I am now 100% for Kettlebell training.

I would recommend Kettlebell training to anyone who truly wants to, as Brian puts it "Train like an athlete not a hamster".

Now I'm Pain-Free! Rated 10 out of 10
I originally discovered Brian because a coworker of mine was seeing phenomenal improvements in her body so I asked her how she was doing it.

When I first started training with Brian I was so out of shape that any amount of activity would cause pain. First some background. I was in a bad car accident 20 years ago and as a result my T1-T10 spine is fused and I have rods in L3-S1. On top of that I had severe shoulder pain and knee pain. Every day I would wake up wondering where I would hurt; this was before training with Brian.

I had been in physical therapy for years and as long as I kept up with it I could keep the pain manageable but that is hardly living life; I didn't want to be in "rehab" my whole life!

After only a short time training with Brian I started to notice tremendous changes. I had no more pain all over my body. I got amazing improvement in flexibility and range of motion in my bad shoulders. My energy level has increased dramatically and my endurance is astounding.

I have learned to listen to my body and how to use that for improvement rather than it keeping me down.

It is amazing how proper kettlebell training can be so complete for overall fitness and because it is low impact I can even do it with my physical limitations. And it is so versatile that there is always something new for exercise or a great cardio workout. I'm never bored.

Brian has the ability to find the way you learn and get motivated. I do every time. Not only because he is great at training kettlebells but because of his extensive knowledge of overall fitness. Brian has helped me in so many more ways, from overall health, skin, energy, attitude, even improved my outlook on life.

There is no greater gift someone can give than to improve one's quality of life and Brian does that for me every day. There isn't enough that can be said about him because every day he impresses me with his knowledge, ability to teach and caring not only in regard to fitness but toward people as well.

BEFORE = Daily pain, fused spine and couldn't lift my arm overhead

NOW = (several months later) Snatching and pressing a 44 lb kettlebell pain-free, deadlifting more than my body-weight, and squatting two 53 lb kettlebells rock bottom all pain-free! I even got my first pull-up tonight!
