I cycled 150 miles for the first time!!
Rated 10 out of 10
I want to thank you for your support in my very successful quest for the 2-day, 150 mile Bike MS tour. I did very little on-the-bike training this year, with only a handful of training rides under my belt. I'm convinced that it was Kettlebell training that made the difference. So thank you for all the 5 minute swing tests, all the dead lifts, pistols and front squats, all the Tabata drills (especially the Tabata's!) ;) and all the Z-health! My knees thank you too, as I had NO knee pain on the bike for the first time in 3 years, while clocking more miles than in my past 2 attempts at this event!!
I know you say that your KB method is not meant for training for long endurance events, but I respectfully disagree. That might be the case if I was going at really fast racing speeds, but at my personal best charity ride pace I had so much endurance, especially on the first day! I only felt winded on the climbs. And I know that it was the raw strength and confidence I've gained that got me up those hills with more ease than ever before! There were even times along the way where my husband had a hard time keeping up with me - which never used to happen.
I have also gained a bragging husband. A motorcycle trooper who was volunteering on the route came up next to us on one of the bigger climbs. Scott jokingly made a gesture to him about them switching bikes. The trooper said if Scott could get 5 miles ahead of me then they could switch bikes, but that he was rooting for me. My husband said, "I know, have you seen those guns on her?" He then asked me to tell the trooper what I dead lift. I'm a small-framed woman at 5'4" and I get a kick out of shocking people by telling them that I dead lift 176 lbs, which is almost 1 1/2 times my body weight! And I love that my husband gets a kick out of bragging like that.
To top it all off, I had a massage therapist compliment me this weekend. A friend of our team captain came up to give chair massages to the team on Saturday. She told me that I was so toned it was difficult to tell on me what was a toned muscle vs. a tight muscle!!
Saying I'm thrilled with all this is an understatement. A word to the women out there who think that they can't lift that much, or do a certain exercise - yes you can!! And you won't get bulky, masculine muscles doing so. You'll get people noticing and complimenting you on how toned you look and you'll get the confidence to try things you never thought you could do.

Improve Core Strength and Reduce Low Back Pain
Rated 10 out of 10
My Chiropractor referred me to Brian and kettlebells. I was looking to improve my core strength and reduce the pain in my lower back. I have seen definite improvements in both, as well as I have decreased the pain I had in my shoulders.
I really like the strength I get from kettlebells and how it translates into everyday activities, it makes them easier. I would absolutely recommend that you train with Brian!

Best Results in 10 Years!
Rated 10 out of 10
I've been lifting weights for about 10 years, and I've been using kettlebells for about 3 years. I considered myself to be pretty knowledgeable in the ways of strength and conditioning, but I thought I'd try some professional advice.
I've been using Brian's services for about 4 months and here is an example of what he's done for me. I was in the gym on my back-off/rest week just trying to do 60% of my normal workout, and some friends of mine were jabbing at me a bit because I don't workout "normal" like them. They sort of challenged my man hood and so I took them up on a bench press test which is supposed to be the true measure of a man. Now I haven't done any bench press at all for about 5 months, or anything that I can imagine directly worked my chest, but I amazed even myself with the results. I put on a little weight to "warm up", added a little more, and kept going until I benched 285lbs with relative ease and I just quit there because I didn't really want to max and ruin my week off, or hurt myself. I didn't get it. I never lifted that much weight with such ease even when I was doing a lot, and I mean a lot, of bench press. The weight just seemed to fly up like someone else was helping me.
In the 10 years of lifting before I started working with Brian, I've never been able to improve my total body strength and conditioning so effectively in such little time.
Thanks Brian.

Top 1% of patients in the 50 year old bracket

Last month I had my checkup and the doc said at 57 years young I was in the top 1% of his patients in the 50 year old bracket. My left shoulder is just about 95% better thanks to your help with the joint mobility and other tips. I can finally press the 28kg for singles without any pain with my left arm, slow but sure.
By the way, keep up the great news letter, I look forward reading it every month. It always has some great tips.

If only I lived in Denver!

I would definitely recommend Brian to others!
If I lived in the Denver area, I'd be a regular client of Brian's! I have been working out with kettlebells for about 3 months, using a video, but wasn't sure if I had the technique and form quite right.
I was searching in Google online for kettlebell instructors or classes and ran across Brian's Core Fitness website. There is a wealth of information on his site and when I saw where his studio is located, I thought "hmmm, I'm flying into Denver for a long weekend in Colorado Springs and maybe I can scheduled an hour session with Brian to get some personal instruction using kettlebells." Brian was great about accommodating my flight schedule so we could fit a training session in the morning I arrived before I drove down to Colorado Springs.
My training session with Brian was amazing! He showed me where my form was off and what to do to correct it. His instruction included explaining (in layman's terms) how improper form can result in injury. Brian gave me practice exercises to do once I returned home to reinforce the correct technique & form. It was also very helpful to get his recommendation on what size kettlebell(s) I should use. I was pretty much in the dark when I bought my kettlebells and guessed at the size to use.
After working with Brian, I discovered that I am stronger than I thought I was and can handle a heavier weight kettlebell than what I had previously been using.
Later that day, Brian sent me an email summarizing all the information we had gone over so I have it to reference now that I'm back in Virginia. I will definitely stay in touch with Brian and hopefully get a chance to work with him again in the future.

I am have a B.S. in Exercise Science and am studing to become a CHEK practioner. I purchased some kettlebells for some variety in training for my clients and myself. I purchased some private sessions with Brian after a referal from a friend. I thought Brian could show me a couple pointers as how to properly train with kettlebells. By the fist lesson I learned that I had greatly underestimated the intricacies of true kettlebell training. I was so impressed with Brain and the RKC that I am going to get certified this summer. To help me prepare Brian developed a home program that I have no doubt will get me where I need to be in time for the certification. As a fitness professional I would highly recomend Brian not only for his kettlebell knowledge, but also his knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and his easy to follow teaching style.

I Never Thought I'd Be Complimented On My Abs!!!
Rated 10 out of 10
My husband was a very happy client of Brian's so I decided to give it a shot. I wanted to increase my strength, flexibility and tone. I also hoped to improve some chronic pain situations I had experienced for a number of years.
Now my strength has improved considerably. I am happy with the improvement in the tone and shape of my body and the chronic pain in my elbow, neck and shoulder that I have had for years has significantly decreased!
The variety and flexibility of the workouts that Brian provides keeps me interested. I find the repetitive nature of other workout regimens to be boring and I don't tolerate boredom/repetition well.
Several friends, coworkers and family members have complemented me on my thinner, more fit appearance. Comments like, "Boy your pants are really baggy!" and "Have you lost weight?" allow me to tell them about my work with Brian. I never thought I would be complemented on my abs - but I have been.
How exciting!!!
I recommend Brian to all of my friends, family and coworkers, and to anyone reading this testimonial.

A Gifted Instructor
Rated 10 out of 10
Brian is a gifted instructor with a keen eye for form and for what can work for each individual. Not only does he bring enthusiasm and a sense of humor to his training, but a wide understanding of joint, muscle anatomy and function which is so important for injury prevention and rehab. If Brian's martial arts and sports background, combined with his first hand experience with severe back injury and his own incredible recovery into a pain free 'strong man' isn't enough, his ever increasing physical knowledgebase - which now includes material written on grip training - makes him the right man to work with. I recommend his training and coaching style highly for anyone who is interested in pursuing kettlebells, strength and fitness!

I feel 100% comfortable sending my patients to Brian. His knowledge base is exceptional and his attention to detail is phenomenal.
If you suffer from a previous weakness, Brian will find it and make it strong.
Brian keeps his classes lively and challenging. Who would guess that working out could be fun? Well it actually is! Plus the results speak for themselves. At first I was hesitant with Kettlebells, but in studying the ideas behind the movements and feeling what the movements do for me I am now 100% for Kettlebell training.
I would recommend Kettlebell training to anyone who truly wants to, as Brian puts it "Train like an athlete not a hamster".

Now I'm Pain-Free!
Rated 10 out of 10
I originally discovered Brian because a coworker of mine was seeing phenomenal improvements in her body so I asked her how she was doing it.
When I first started training with Brian I was so out of shape that any amount of activity would cause pain. First some background. I was in a bad car accident 20 years ago and as a result my T1-T10 spine is fused and I have rods in L3-S1. On top of that I had severe shoulder pain and knee pain. Every day I would wake up wondering where I would hurt; this was before training with Brian.
I had been in physical therapy for years and as long as I kept up with it I could keep the pain manageable but that is hardly living life; I didn't want to be in "rehab" my whole life!
After only a short time training with Brian I started to notice tremendous changes. I had no more pain all over my body. I got amazing improvement in flexibility and range of motion in my bad shoulders. My energy level has increased dramatically and my endurance is astounding.
I have learned to listen to my body and how to use that for improvement rather than it keeping me down.
It is amazing how proper kettlebell training can be so complete for overall fitness and because it is low impact I can even do it with my physical limitations. And it is so versatile that there is always something new for exercise or a great cardio workout. I'm never bored.
Brian has the ability to find the way you learn and get motivated. I do every time. Not only because he is great at training kettlebells but because of his extensive knowledge of overall fitness. Brian has helped me in so many more ways, from overall health, skin, energy, attitude, even improved my outlook on life.
There is no greater gift someone can give than to improve one's quality of life and Brian does that for me every day. There isn't enough that can be said about him because every day he impresses me with his knowledge, ability to teach and caring not only in regard to fitness but toward people as well.
BEFORE = Daily pain, fused spine and couldn't lift my arm overhead
NOW = (several months later) Snatching and pressing a 44 lb kettlebell pain-free, deadlifting more than my body-weight, and squatting two 53 lb kettlebells rock bottom all pain-free! I even got my first pull-up tonight!

I Sleep Better Now!
Rated 10 out of 10
I was initially attracted to kettlebells as an activity to get back into shape after 15 years of not working out. I historically had knee problems and back problems that prohibited me from running and other hard contact sports that I had done in my 20's. In addition, I needed something with the flexibility of training with a professional combined with the ability to do a workout on my own at home. I also wanted a situation where I could ramp up my commitment without signing an initial long term contract with a gym or a personal trainer.
As a father of two with a high stress job, one of the very first benefits I found with Brian was his ability to relate to me since he also came off a serious injury in the past and could understand the challenges of trying to get fit after a prolonged delay. By emphasizing proper technique and matching workouts to my current fitness levels, I felt real comfortable that I was progressing without putting undue strain on my body.
Within weeks, I was able to do several hours of yard work without feeling sore or real tired afterwards. In the second month, I noticed that I have slept better than I had in years. I have tried to decrease stress through long walks, lifting weights and treadmills in the past, but I believe the intensity of kettlebell workouts relieves an enormous amount of tension in comparison. I attribute these benefits to not only the kettlebell training, but Brian's ability to teach flexibility and core development. I have also come to realize that kettlebell training is an intense cardio workout better than aerobics, with the ability to burn fat and increase stamina along with strength and flexibility.

Amazing Instructor
Rated 10 out of 10
I have been working with Brian for a year now, and I continue to be amazed at his depth of knowledge and commitment to his students. Over the last year Brian has helped me change my attitude towards weight work, and exercise in general. The comments I get about how good I look and how much weight I have lost aren't bad either.
After I had been working out for about six months my wife started coming with me, and recently our daughter also started taking some classes. Brian excels at teaching my daughter the basics, keeping her interested and at the same time making sure my wife and I get the attention we need to maintain our technique and learn new exercises. He always has a new way to terrorize us (insert evil laugh) and we continue to enjoy the class.
I have complete trust in Brian's ability to analyze your physical condition and develop a workout the first protects you and then helps you heal as you get stronger, fitter, and toned.
Thanks Brian

Grandmother Gets Empowered!
Rated 10 out of 10
I began kettlebell training with Brian because my daughter raved about it and wouldn't leave me alone until I agreed to try it. Thank you Jenny!
When I started I wanted to lose weight, tone up and have more energy. I also wanted to find a fitness program that I wasn't bored with after the first week. Well I found that and more!
I immediately experienced improved strength, a boost in confidence, more muscle definition, weight loss and more energy than I know what to do with!
I am not a patient person so I really like the immediate results. It is challenging and I never get bored.
I would strongly recommend Brian to anyone who is looking to get in the best shape of their lives without hesitation! I would even stand on the street corner and hold up a sign!
After years of trying just about everything I feel like I have finally found the perfect fitness program! Maximum results in minimum time.
I LOVE the atmosphere at Copeland's Core Fitness, it is professional, friendly, never intimidating and always empowering. I feel younger, stronger and more confident every day!
Thank you Brian!

Expert Testimonial for Brian
Rated 10 out of 10
I am thrilled to write this testimonial for Brian Copeland, strength trainer and kettlebell instructor, but first let me give you a brief perspective. I am a body therapist and have been weight training consistently since 1983. So I have better than average knowledge of anatomy, body mechanics and weight training principles.
I was cruising along with my training, working hard and getting decent results. However, I was also interested in making some dramatic changes and reducing the time that I spent in the gym. That's when I had my serendipitous meeting with Brian. Immediately I saw that he had a detailed grasp of relevant weight training topics that included both cutting edge and "old-time" techniques. He spoke at length about the advantages and disadvantages of various programs and philosophies of training, and which might be the best fit to help me achieve my goals.
Brian then created a program for me that reduced both the number of exercises and the number of sets I had been doing. He included some kettlebell exercises that could be done with dumbbells and two exercises I had never had in my program; the deadlift and squats. Aided by his expert and detailed instruction, and I can't emphasize the importance of this enough, I began to transition to the new program. Well, the proof is in the results... And they have been phenomenal! Within weeks I have accomplished the following; moved up 2-3 plates on two exercises, increased my bicep curls by almost 30%, strengthened my legs like never before (along with overcoming some nagging hamstring problems), and developed a more integrated, better functioning musculature. But that's not even the best part. The biggest benefit is that I enjoy working out again.
Regardless of what stage you're at in your training I am certain that you could benefit from working with Brian. He's knowledgeable, thorough and an excellent instructor. My results were dramatic, I hope yours are too!

Can't believe how strong I've gotten
Rated 10 out of 10
I just discovered Kettlebell training this past July. After looking at Brian's website, I immediately contacted him to give Kettlebells a try. At the time, I was nearing the end of physical therapy for nagging knee problems. I was drawn to Kettlebells because I needed to continue building strength in my glutes, quads and hamstrings to keep my knees strong.
The private instruction was excellent. Brian emphasized proper form and watched me closely to be sure I wasn't doing anything to harm my knees. He is very knowledgeable about Kettlebell training, physiology and exercise in general. I later began going to the group classes, which are equally fun. Brian gives his attention to each and every person in the class while giving us fun and challenging exercises.
Now just 2 months after my first Kettlebell class, (and only being able to go once a week) I can dead lift "The Beast", 106 lb, which is almost my body weight!! I didn't totally believe that I could do it, but tried because of the encouragement, camaraderie and friendly competition I find in the group classes. Brian was the first to say that we are stronger than we give ourselves credit for and he knew I could do it.
I had come to class in a really bad mood from a couple tough weeks at work and with no light at the end of the tunnel. I left class with a huge smile and feeling GREAT! I can't believe how strong I've gotten and in such a short amount of time.
This week, because of the stress at work, I pulled a muscle in my back and avoided going to Kettlebell. Finally, the itch got the better of me and I just had to go. Brian was very careful with my exercises yet still challenged me, and by later the same day my back pain was gone. The power of these funny looking weights still continues to amaze me.

Physical Therapist in Thailand

Special testimonial for Brian Copeland, RKC
Before saying anything, let me introduce myself, my name is Wannipat Bauted, a Physical Therapist in Thailand. I've got chance to visit Brian's studio since the end of June and these made me know much more about Kettlebell, in spite of I never know this special tool before, and learnt more his techniques how he recovered his pain from "Herniated Disc".
I'd like to give this testimonial to Brian who is a great kettlebell trainer and specialist in the knowledge strength and conditioning. Moreover, he fix his problem by himself, when he suffered from his low back pain in the terrible experience for a long period in past. When I visit him, he gave me other choices of treatments in decreasing back pain and share his knowledge that he learn from healing himself and his clients.
I can confirm that by his knowledge and experiences that he's learned more in his life, which can help people who have these problem as well. No one knows how to recover themselves when they got that pain but Brian did.
As physicians and Physical Therapists we learn all about biomechanics of human body and learn all of the theories but we often don't have the knowledge or experience of how to fix back problem. Why? Because having experience and special knowledge is very important. Brian learnt from working with his own body and then used that experience to help his clients.
In fact, no one is keen on everything, even an excellent physician could give the wrong concept of treatment to you or he might try to give you trial and error treatment. It would be great if you are a luckily person who received a correct treatment that would be matching with yours symptoms, but if not then you are in trouble. By allowing yourself to receive the right ways of treatment from the person who had these experiences himself you will be in a much better position. For me, I only hope that you guys, who are suffering from the bad experiences like Brian used to, probably give you more choices of treatment for yourselves. No one knows before they try to test the thing and got the real experience by themselves. We don't have Kettlebells here in Thailand, but I apply some part of Brian's techniques to my patients, and you know what? It works even if I didn't use the real kettlebells. Therefore, kettlebells will probably work for you: in addition, you probably gain more and get more beneficial advantage from your great trainer, Brian.
I have my B.S. in Kinesiology, and I am familiar various exercise programs, but I was looking for a way to supercharge my workouts and renew my interest. I only just heard about Kettlebells this year. I decided that I wanted check them out in April and found Brian's site online. I needed some expert training in this area.
Brian knows his KB exercises very well, and I recommend him to anyone for training. Since I started KB training, I haven't fallen off the exercise wagon. I am stronger, bigger, and leaner than I was before.
Brian knows more than just Kettlebells, and I have been impressed with his knowledge and expertise in exercise and nutrition. He is also a great guy to work with, too. He offers specialized personal training and has group training programs to offer.

About 2 months before I was headed off to my RKC training, I wanted to get some extra help and feedback from another RKC instructor. I was suffering from some external impingement in my shoulder - not good if you are going to a 3 day RKC training.
When I visited and had my session with Brian he had typed up a page of information to help me get ready for RKC and protect/strengthen my shoulder. He took time to check each one of my exercises and give solid feedback on each one.
His tips really payed off. I am 2 days away from going to MINN. and I am all in 1 piece!
Brian is very clear with his teaching cues and offers very helpful feedback. He is patient and takes his instruction very seriously.
I am very happy that I spent that time with Brian.

Brian is really good at being able to create a program for each individual at their particular level. I have been lucky enough to find out that he is totally supportive of all the students, including me!
One of the best things about coming to class is that Brian conveys his passion and enthusiasm for Russian Kettlebells while teaching basics and making sure that we all have the proper form. And he makes the work seem like fun! The hour goes by so quickly, and when it is over, I feel as if I am truly an athlete. And when I get discouraged, Brian continually encourages and inspires me. Many thanks to Brian for the great training! LONG LIVE THE KETTLEBELL!!!

I started training with Brian because we are friends so I trust him completely. Let me just say that my trust in him has only grown since I started training with him. I had my 2nd child about 6 1/2 months ago, after I had my first child (about 3.5 years ago) I tried so hard to get back into shape but never saw the results that I wanted (not even remotely close to my before any baby shape and size). After my 2nd, I decided this was it; I'll do whatever it takes to get back to my target size. Before I trained with Brian, I was hitting the gym 3-5 times a week for at least 1-2 hours each time. I would typically spend at least half of that time doing some sort of cardio such as the treadmill, elliptical etc., the other half I would do "light weights". This combination was supposed to help me lose fat and tone muscle. I would hit the gym like this, then when I got home I would be starving. With this workout routine I was constantly adding one extra meal a day just to have the energy to do the workout, but I thought as long as I'm working out, I should see results, right? WRONG! I hated the results I was getting and I was getting very discouraged. I contacted Brian about personal training about 3 months after I had my 2nd child. Brian designed an at home workout that required no special equipment for me. I did this routine about 4-5 times a week for about 20-30 minutes each time. We also had discussions about my nutrition plan and he answered all my questions. We even talked about still allowing me a few cheat meals to enjoy the unhealthy foods that I love. After only 3-4 weeks on this routine I saw incredible results, I lost inches off my whole body! I was extremely motivated at this point because I lost 2 inches from my "tummy pooch" (anyone who has had a baby knows what I'm talking about!). I was amazed that I saw results like that in less than a month! Suddenly I had more energy and a boost of self confidence!
Since then, I have started kettlebell training with Brian about once a week. I was a little hesitant to try them until I saw a magazine article at Brian's studio. I was so inspired by this article and realized that I didn't have to be this big, bulging-muscles, meathead looking (insert image of Arnold Schwarzenegger) kind of guy to train with kettlebells. I'm completely amazed by the workout I receive from doing a seemingly simple thing as lifting this big, odd-looking iron ball around. I can't even start to tell you how many people have commented on how great I look, and to be honest, I really have been slacking in the working out department the past few months. Just imagine how smokin' I'd be if I actually did my workout, had willpower to turn away sweets and fried foods and was able to fit more kettlebell sessions into my schedule! Brian is extremely knowledgeable, he listens to my complaints (and sometimes whining) and tailors the exercises that we do to my body, my goals and my abilities. He takes the time to show and instruct me (sometimes over and over when I'm being particularly ditzy) so that I use the proper form at all times.
Brian makes the workout fun, short and simple and I'm still busting my butt the whole time! Since I've been having so much fun training with kettlebells, I've expressed an interest to Brian about someday maybe even competing in kettlebell competitions and becoming RKC certified. I would recommend this to all that I love and care for. Recently I was cleaning my closet and stumbled upon my favorite "skinny" shorts, I thought, what the heck, let me try them on to see how much farther I have to go to fit into them. I was ecstatic when they slipped right on and I was able to button them up without sucking my gut in! There's nothing like the feeling of being able to fit back into those "skinny" jeans that are hiding in your closet! Bottom line is, I'm not stuck at the gym for hours, I'm having tons more fun working out and I'm seeing incredible results. I went from a size 9/10 to 4/5 in these few months. If you want results, contact Brian, he'll do what it takes as long as you do too!

Brian Copeland is a great teacher. He keeps his focus while training and doesn't waste any time getting down to business. He pushes you just enough and yet he makes sure that your form is perfect to keep everyone safe. But the best thing about Brian is that you can tell he is really passionate about what he is doing; he really cares. I am totally hooked on Kettlebells now!

I am an emergency and sports medicine physician. I have trained with Brian in both kettlebells and self-defense for approximately 6 months. And I can say without question they have been the most effective and valuable techniques I have ever seen. The workouts are short, quick and simple! I used to bike, run and lift for hours. Now I work strictly wtih kettlebells and I am stronger, leaner and fitter than I have ever been... all in 20 minutes 3 times a week! As Brian says "do you want to train like an athlete or a hamster?"
Brian's kettlebell and self-defense instruction is always professional, easy to understand and fun... and the results speak for themselves. Not only am I more fit from Brian's kettlebell training, but I also feel infinitely safer and more confident from his self defense training.
If you are training for a specific sport or just want to be more fit, feel safer and more confident about yourself, Brian is your man!

I first met Brian at the Oct 07 RKC where I was a student and he was an assistant instructor. I had never met Brain before only heard about him and read some of his posts on the Dragon Door website. That week was life changing for two reasons, one being I became an RKC and the second being I became friends with Brian. When I moved to Colorado the first thing I did was call Brian. He has great insight to strength and with honest and good business sense Brain is RKC. Thank you Brian for showing me the way you are the first person I refer people to when I am busy J/K

58 Years Old and Getting Younger!
Rated 10 out of 10
I first read about kettlebell training in a newspaper article and I decided to try a few classes to see if I wanted to pursue it and I certainly do want to continue.
I am 58 years old, and I want a lifestyle/conditioning program that will strengthen me and improve my agility well into my later years. I have tried conventional weight training programs and sports such as handball and sculling, but kettlebells is the most practical, effective and convenient.
After 3 months of training, I am performing exercises that I would have considered almost impossible during my first week, particularly the Turkish Get-up. Getting up using the correct posture without a weight was difficult at first, and now I am doing it with a 53-pound kettlebell. Brian is also very good at prescribing particular warm-up exercises to prevent and alleviate pain.
While using conventional weight training exercises, I tended to work myself to injury and then quit. With kettlebells, I am progressing at a comfortable, injury-free rate. I use my typewriting skills as an analogy for kettlebell training. I struggled to be a C student all the way through my high school typewriting class, but I developed what I learned into a vital skill that I have used as a technical writer for 30 years.
As a lifestyle conditioning program, kettlebell training: -Saves money and space: A suitable kettlebell set costs much less than conventional equipment and requires very little storage space. -Saves time: Once you gain expertise in the basic exercises and buy the suitable weights, you can work out at your convenience at home. -Adds quality to workouts: You can perform a variety of exercises that increase strength and promote agility and perform your exercises outside if you choose to.
I just wish I knew more people who would like to try kettlebell training; I would send them to Brian in a heartbeat.
Many people mistakenly pursue easy opportunities that promise great gains with minimal time or money investment. Whether the goal is physical conditioning or making money, all legitimate improvement programs require valuable time and effort and professional training. Kettlebell training is one such quality lifestyle improvement method.

I completely trust Brian with my complete wellness program
Rated 10 out of 10
Brian's workouts have really made me feel better over the last six months. Through his comprehensive core training, I have worked out more in the last six months than the previous fifteen years combined and feel better now than I have since I was 20. Specifically, no more neck tension or back pain that has bothered me for years. This summer I went on a 3-day canoeing trip, paddling 6 hours a day, and I did not feel any pain due to Brian's core and flexibility training.
After focusing on general fitness initially with Brian, I am now seeing results in weight loss as I clean up my diet and can target my training for weight loss, strength, and flexibility.
Brian has also taught me how to listen to my body's feedback by varying training methods based upon any of my body's problem areas from previous injuries or bad habits. This has made a huge difference since I am able to continue to work out consistently and see results even if one body part is feeling especially sore or particularly weak. In the past, I have just stopped working out since I was unsure on how to keep training safely.
I completely trust Brian with my complete wellness program, and for feeling even safer and more empowered, try the Navy Seal based self-defense instruction Brian offers.

Who knew working out could actually be fun!
Rated 10 out of 10
Brian's dedication and commitment to his clients goes above and beyond. This is evident by his genuine concern for our well being and continual push to expand his knowledge and skill set.
Aside from the personal benefits I've received from Kettlebells (decreased chronic low back pain, more balanced bilateral strength and improved overall core strength), if I'm not enjoying the activity, it's hard to stay motivated. Brian always maintains a great energy in his classes. Who knew working out could actually be fun!

In 5 weeks, I have lost 10 lbs
Rated 10 out of 10
I have only achieved a portion of my goal but feel my progress so far is attributed to Brian and kettlebells. I feel stronger and more energetic. My clothes fit better, and I have little or no sciatic pain. I enjoy my workouts and look forward to seeing more results in the coming months. In 5 weeks, I have lost 10 lbs. Thanks Brian!

Better results in a week & 1/2 than in 8 years!
Rated 10 out of 10
I've been lifting weights for about 8 years, and the results I have seen from doing kettlebells with Brian for mere weeks are actually greater than I had from all of those years of resistance training. I'm stronger, more toned, and more flexible than before. Leave the cables and treadmills behind. The challenge is well worth it, and with Brian as a teacher, it didn't take long to learn how to safely and effectively utilize the kettlebells on my own. Thanks, Brian

I suffered an SI Joint Sprain 7 years ago. I was prescribed anti-flamitory medication and pain medication which I took when needed. Lifting a grocery bag would sometimes onset discomfort. I was told by the doctor to carefully choose my activity which may cause a sudden reacurance in pain which I experienced up until I started training with Brian very recently. I am dedicated to excercising at the gym but, still felt discomfort after excercising. I would go to bed feeling back pain and, wake in the morning feeling stiff on my lower back. After, a recent private session, my dead lift weight increased and, I am able to perform these excercises without any discomfort. I am also able to increase my weight in all excercises after each session. My back problems did not improve doing my regular excercises at the gym and with a personal trainer there. I immediately felt relief after my first session and, I have dramatic improvement in each session thereafter. After a recent session my dead lift weight increased by 25 lbs. This accoplishment did not dawn on me until I went home that evening. While settling in for the evening, my eyes watered. I was in disbelief of my ability to perform this well physically after suffering many years after a back injury. I am greatful to have met a very skilled knowledgable instuctor like Brian. I would highly recommend him as a personal trainer. Thank you Brian.

Brian Really Knows His Stuff!
Rated 10 out of 10
I originally wanted to learn to use kettlebells to train on my own at home and what I learned was great knowledge of mechanics and how to adapt the techniques to fit me personally.
What I like best about kettlebells is the functionality of the workouts.
In only 5 training sessions I can already tell I have better back stability.
What I like best about learning from Brian is that he really knows his stuff. I would recommend others learn from Brian.

I guess kettlebell swings really do give you legs that never die!
Rated 10 out of 10
Hey Brian, Ben the law student here. Just wanted to tell you that I've been doing z-health and training with the kettlebells three or four times a week for the last 6 weeks based on what you taught me when I came to Colorado and learned from you. My old knee injury seems to have gone away, and I actually feel taller. Here's the cool part though: this Saturday, I played in a city-wide 16 team soccer tournament with the LAW SCHOOL soccer team. We had to play 5 games of 45 minutes on Saturday. Well, we won the thing, and I was running around all over the field right until the last minute of the 5th game. Meanwhile, everyone else was cramping, limping, slowing down. I haven't done any running or other fitness whatsoever, but my legs just kept going. I guess kettlebell swings really do give you legs that never die. And it was pretty nice to see the looks on the faces of the 18-21 year old club teams when they got their asses kicked by the law school team. Anyway, hope all is well. I'll see you over spring break. Maybe I can learn how to do snatches.

Excellent Instructor
Rated 10 out of 10
I was in Denver on a business trip and had the opportunity to train with Brian. I found Brian on Dragondoor's RKC instructor site.
I have been training with kettlebells for about 2 months and I learned an incredible amount of technique in the short time that I had training with Brian.
Brian is an affable and knowledgeable RKC Instructor. Every move I practiced Brian was able to give instruction on how to improve and better my technique. Kettlebells are demanding, but Brian taught me the skills to make my training smarter (and safer). Training hard is good, but training smarter (and safer) is the best.
I have ETK and the Pavel's video, but the one-on-one training with Brian brought the skills and finer points together to improve my Kettlebell experience.
I highly recommend Brian to anyone that wants to become a better KBer. Keep up the good work.

National Level Olympic Weightlifter
Rated 10 out of 10
I recently had the privilege of training one afternoon with RKC and Z-Health instructors Brian Copeland and Jason Wood. As an Olympic-style weightlifter with national-level competition under my belt, I was already strong and flexible, but these men and their expert techniques helped spot some significant areas for improvement in my squat. The importance of this insight cannot be overstated, as the squat movement is at the heart of every Olympic-style lift. Within a few minutes of analysis they were able to spot one leg bowing in towards my center, and a few Z-health techniques later as well as a new hand placement on the bar, I was able to feel the joints loosening. Under their instruction I reached the point where it was like a light flipped on in my nervous system, and I said, "Aha!" and realized what I'd been doing wrong all this time. They were able to recommend movement patterns and related kettlebell drills that will undoubtedly be of great benefit in the future of my training, for both greater strength and healthier knee joints. I highly recommend instructors Brian Copeland and Jason Wood for learning how kettlebell and Z-health methods can and will work for you.

Rock Climber Feels the Power of the Kettlebell
Rated 10 out of 10
I approached Brian with a very specific request, I wanted to improve my rock climbing stamina and skills. He then suggested and proceeded to train me with the two skills that would make this happen. He recommended Z-Health for proprioception (fine motor skils/body awareness) and Hard-Style Kettlebell training for additional strength, flexibility and coordination. I started out a bit skeptical because he wasn't a climber, but I was quickly turned 180 degrees on that one. His combined instruction in these programs added a fantastic new dimension to my climbing in a very short time!
Finally, I enjoyed working with him and admire his professional, straight forward training methods.

I saw the description of Brian's beginner level class and showed it to my daughter. She took the class and absolutely loved it! She recommended that I try the class also. Being older it is important to me to try to stay flexible and also incorporate strength training. This class is both of these and more. Brian is an excellent instructor who puts you at ease while ensuring that you handle the kettlebells safely.

Decreased my triglycerides and overall cholesterol by over 150 points
Rated 10 out of 10
I took my first cholesterol test in over a year and decreased my triglycerides and overall cholesterol by over 150 points for both total cholesterol and triglerites. this is the first big improvement I have seen in a decade. I attribute it to the kettlebells and a modified Warrior Diet that Brian gave me. I still have a ways to go in LDL's & HDL's, but with supplements and minor diet modifications I look to make just as major gains in the next 4-5 months.

Amazing "Can Do" attitude, and he shows you how you "Can Do" as well.
Rated 10 out of 10
This is not my first review of Brian, because the days and years continue to go by where his influence in my life continues. If you have any doubts, just go to one session with him.
There is not enough that can be said about Brian and his teaching abilities. For the past 20 years, I have had a 50lb weight limit and physical activity limitations, imposed on me by surgeons and physical therapists. After years of getting older and gaining more weight than I wanted, I was referred to Brian from a co-worker.
His style of training "to your limit, not above your limit" was exactly what I needed. Brian taught me how to break all of my bad "work-out" habits of pain, injury, bad form, loss of interest, food and health choices, and most of all, my lack of success. He helped me to work through my weak areas, physical and mental. All while working with my prior injuries, and teaching me to learn how to listen to my body, to avoid future road blocks and injuries.
It took me a while to get enough in shape, just so I could start training. I was definitely a mess when I came to Brian, but with all the knowledge he possesses in so many areas, he made it look easy. (don't get me wrong, the work-outs were not easy) He gave me the confidence that I can improve, and I did. He gave me the drive to want to do better, and I did. He taught me how to grow with what I learn, and apply that to finding success, and I have. Since I have far exceeded any "limitations" I once had, I now consider my life limitless.
I have since moved away from Colorado, and thus lost my ability to train with Brian directly. I still call upon his expertise when I get stuck, or a new program design when I start to level out, and he has always been there for me. Brian has given me the tools and knowledge to continue improving my life, in everything I do. Every day that I am pain free, during physical activity or not, especially the activities I wouldn't even think of doing just a couple years ago, I am able enjoy my life that much better.
I Thank Brian for helping me to become healthy, smart, confident, successful, and of course STRONG.

Brian is an amazing motivator!
Rated 10 out of 10
After living with frequent, intense backpain for several years I took the advice of a friend and went to a kettlebell class taught by Brian Copeland. From the very beginning he taught me the "why" along with the "how" to get the most out of my workout, pain free! After two weeks in his class, my back pain was non-existent and has not returned. His philosophy concerning exercise is refreshing. I don't have to work myself to death or feel pain to get some really fantastic results! He trains both mind and body and cares to know where you want to be. He is available at all times to help with your fitness goals. I reccommend him to everyone I know!

I noticed I am developing buns of steel and can leap tall buildings in a single bound!
Rated 10 out of 10
Training with Brian improved my fitness in 5 ways: 1. Able to feel more confident doing kettlebell exercises 2. Gained a 'virtual belt' approach to lifting 3. Breathing techniques decreased strain when lifting 4. Eye exercises increased my strength and range of motion 5. Able to leap tall buildings with a single bound
The training is fun, at the right level of difficulty, is organized, safe and the studio is well ventilated, has plenty of room and is easy to get to.
I noticed that I am developing buns of steel! I plan to do a survey.

A Year ago I would have laughed and said "no way!"
Rated 10 out of 10
I have been following the Personalized Program that Brian developed for me since March 09 and have been thrilled with the results. I met Brian the previous year while visiting family in CO. During a 1 on 1 session he gave me great advice on improving my form and suggested the appropriate kb weights that I could handle. After working out on my own, while I was making progress and hooked on kettlebells, I wanted to get to the next level and knew that Brian's program was the way to go to reach my goal. Brian gives excellent feedback, adjusts my program when he sees that I'm ready for more, and motivates me to keep going and does this all from ~ 1800 miles away.
I'm now performing 5 strict pullups, can military press a 35 lb kettlebell for 10 reps and am very close to hitting 100 reps in the RKC snatch test. I will be attending the RKC in April!
If you had told me a year and a half ago that I'd be at this point, I would have laughed and said "no way!"

Rare gift of being able to correct and encourage at the same time

Brian is a professional. He knows more about the human body than most trainers. He has the rare gift of being able to correct and encourage at the same time. He has fresh ideas and a great attitude.
I have felt better than I have in years. I have lost inches, weight and am beginning to have shape again. My neck and back pain are gone!!! My knee has opened up and is working again.
Brian is an excellent coach, I feel comfortable and confident working with him. I am amazed at how good I feel and that I can lift and do exercises that I didn't think I could.
My blood work when I had my physical was excellent and my Doctor complimented me on my improvements. The nurses can not usually get blood from me but now my veins don't collapse so now they can draw blood.
Thank you Brian you are the best!!

Brian is energetic which makes learning fun. He makes kettlebells not intimidating and shows that everyone can use them.

110 Snatches in 5 minutes with a 53 lb kettlebell!
Rated 10 out of 10
I began working with Brian about a year ago after reading his posts on the Dragondoor forum. I don't live anywhere near him, but I chose him because I could tell he knew what he was talking about, his advice is level-headed, and he was always respectful on the forum. At first I paid to have him set up a training regimen for me that I was using for much of the last year.
I finally flew out to see him and received excellent 1-on-1 instruction on technique.
When I signed up for the RKC cert in Philly, I called Brian right away. I had 9 weeks to prepare. Brian set me up with a strict diet of the 6 moves they teach and I was off to "practice" my strength. He followed the Light-Med-Heavy pattern we know from Pavel's work, but he streamlined it to passing the RKC. By the time came for the RKC, I had passed the snatch test 5 times on my own, with my best being 110 reps in 5 mins. I showed up at the event with the knowledge that I would own 100, and I did.
For anyone that has been through an RKC knows, the snatch test is the first 5 minutes of 3 days of hell. Beyond the fact that my hands and forearms hurt too bad to close after the first day and about 3,000 swings, I really did feel prepared. Brian, with his background in Z-Health and KB's, made sure my training was precise, but also made sure that I showed up fresh and able to nail the 6 moves with a calm body. He made me train fresh and rock the Z-Health. I would say that I felt as physically prepared as one can feel for such a challenging 3 days. I would recommend Brian to anyone who wants a to nail down their strength and fitness goals.

I Love My Kettlebell Classes!

I Love My Kettlebell Classes!
I've worked out for years but I noticed that the older I got, the results were much slower (or non-existent). I was looking for something to shake up my body and get it pumping again. I read about kettlebells and thought that it sounded fun and maybe a little interesting. Before I met Brian, I visited another trainer who put me through a "Boot Camp" type class that incorporated kettlebells as part of the workout. It was brutal and I never went back.
I was still convinced that I should find a "real" kettlebell instructor so I searched in the area. I found Brian and his bccorefitness website. After my previous experience I perused his website diligently for days. Finally, I emailed Brian and asked a few questions. He promptly emailed me back and invited me to his Monday Beginner Level class; after I attended that session, I was hooked. He impressively managed a group of beginners and no one felt slighted; I saw the benefits of kettlebell training and I went back the next week!
Now, I attend group classes three times a week and love it. Brian's approach is terrific; he explains and demonstrates all moves eloquently, with patience and understanding. His classes are a pleasure and full of extra tidbits (Z-Health, nutrition tips, etc.). I walk away feeling tired, but exhilarated at the same time. I've lost 12 pounds, feel strong, and am sleeping better than I have in years.
I can't recommend Brian enough; he cares about his clients and is committed to helping all of his clients achieve their maximum potential, not only in fitness, but in life! My goal is to have a "sexy" back, and with Brian's help, I'm almost there... little black dress, watch out!
