I have 16 years of Kung-fu experience and hold a black belt in Wushu; Wushu is Chinese contemporary Kung-fu that utilizes acrobatic forms. I have yet to pull a muscle or be injured since 2004, when I became RKC and started using Pavel's integrative system of Kettlebell, bodyweight, joint mobility, and stretching.
In 2006 I successfully attained the RKC Level 2 and in 2008 I returned to RKC as an Assistant Instructor. The great honor of Assisting at this training was overshadowed by the performance of my wife Adrienne who after training with me for only 5 months was able to become RKC herself. (I got her a Kettlebell necklace for Christmas and she said she couldn't wear it without being RKC!)
When I first learned Pavel's techniques I was adjunct faculty at nearby George Mason University, so I have developed a methodical, student focused approach to teaching Kettlebells. I left teaching to join the labor union movement. Currently, I work for the Solidarity Center, AFL-CIO where we support labor unions in countries that do not have even the most basic of labor standards. I am passionate about helping people to empower themselves: showing people kettlebells is one of my favorite ways of doing just that.
I understand being over-committed, having a full time job myself- so I can teach you how to integrate Kettlebells into your life.
If you have never touched a Kettlebell, or if you want to learn how to better integrate your Kettlebell routine into your sport, just send me an email. I train on weekend's in one of DC's many local parks or you can find me in Fairfax at the Chinese Martial Arts Institute with the bells I keep there. I am low-key, but like all of those trained by Pavel- highly professional.
