The Motivator

For over three years I have been working with Jim and have experienced dramatic results with just a 30 minute class each week. A workout the varies week to week avoids the monotony that sometimes drains your drive to work out. Kettlebell / cross training is a perfect compliment to running one or two days a week.
The best endorsement is through referrals with friends and family; I continue to recommend Jim to all with positive feedback once they get under way with Jim.
Whether individual, group session, wife/husband, etc... Jim will work with you to achieve positive results.

I have been working out with Jim for about 3 years. I can honestly say that at age 42 I am in the best shape of my life. Each week my 2 friends, my 15 year old son and I walk into the studio not knowing what Jim has in store for us...but knowing full well that within 30 minutes we will soaking wet with sweat and completey spent. He's such a nice guy that you can't even complain that much....
If you are someone that works out on you own, adding a workout with Jim one day a week is the perfect mix up. If you haven't worked out in a while and really need to get in shape, Jim is the perfect trainer because he is so patient, plus you are alone in the studio. And best of all he is very reasonably priced.

I have been with jim for about 7 years at the training room and he has by far made me a stronger person, both physically and mentally. Im 6'7" 195lbs, i was and felt skinny, lanky and weak. The experience and expertise that he has made me work harder at everything, Improving my strength, and muscle tremendously, putting confidence back in me. Jim is constantly coming up with new ideas and better workouts to improve the individual performance. Just when you think your weak and have nothing hes the guy that keeps you goin. Twice a week i cant wait to see what 'master blaster' heart rate asskicker hes come up with. Whether its with weight or no weight, one kettle bell or two, individual or class, i know he can keep me up to my full potential and leave the 'house of pain' feeling like i had the best workout every time. I will continue to train with jim as long as i can.

Jim is a unique trainer in that he could push you to limits you would have never imagined reaching. I attend a high school with a very competitive soccer and basketball program,which also happen to be the two sports that I play. I began training with Jim right after last soccer season for the upcoming basketball season. I was not the most skilled player, however, I was in great physical shape and was able to keep up with the best in the gym. I know that would not have been possible without the motivation I received from Jim. I am determined to be one of the most physically fit on the field/court for the upcoming seasons, and sticking with Jim will enable me to reach that goal.

Jim keeps you going even when you thought you had given it all. He always seems to be able to get a little more out of you. I get more done in a small amount of time working out with Jim, than I have in years going to the gym by myself. His enthusiasm and easygoing ways keep you working to do better. He can talk you through the most grueling workouts. He provides the encouragement to keep you from thinking about how hard you are working out and in doing so, you end up getting much more accomplished than you ever thought you could. He is very knowledgeable and incorporates some fun into what could easily be a long, boring, and exhausting workout.

It has been my pleasure to train with Jim over the last year and have him bring out the best in me! Even though I have some physical problems to deal with, Jim always helps me work through them and I always feel 10 times better when I leave a training session then when I first arrived. Jimmy started training my older brother Ray who within months was off of his blood pressue meds and on my back about going to see him. I kept saying I need to be in better shape to go to a trainer. What a mistake! Jim is willing to take his time with you and develop a program just for you. I now feel better than I have in 20 years and am in better shape. He sets goals for you that can be acheived and keeps you wanting to come. My wife now goes to see Jimmy and she loves it also.

The Best Trainer for Young as Well as the Old!

I started training four years ago with Jim to try to improve my health. Like most "more Mature" women age 50 and older, I had trouble with high blood pressure, bone density, and weight. After several months of training, I had a stress test done and the doctors were so impressed with the results. I attribute those results to Jim who has been patient with my ailments yet firm to make me improve. In contrast, my daughter (age 27) also trains with Jim. He devises a training session that fulfills my needs as well as the needs of a healthy 27 year old. After 2 years of training, I had a knee injury from swimming and Jim was able to regulate my training to avoid more injury to my knee. I feel healthy and my test results verify my improvement. My daughter has gone from a size 10 to a size 6 and is very pleased with her trainer as well. Jim is the best!

I truly believe that Jim saved my life. When I started to workout last year, my blood pressure was very high! Having a family history of heart disease, I knew that I was on the same path. Kettlebells and Sat. morning group workouts are the most result producing fitness programs I've ever done. I'm 48 years old and have been weight training / exercising, very consistently, for the past 35 years. I always considered myself to be in the best shape I could be, considering my age and all the injuries I've suffered over the years. I was wrong. After only 7 weeks of training (2 x/ week), my bodyfat dropped from 12.7% to 10.8% while I maintained the same bodyweight.

If you're not sweating, then you are not working hard enough! When working out with Jim, there is no way to avoid sweating. Jim continually rotates dynamic routines that give you the most results for your time. Jim's ability to revamp the routine on the fly due to large numbers of participants is top notch. As well as modify per individual that may have physical limitations. Working out with Jim has greatly improved my overall health. No other type of exercise compares with the results you get from a Crossfit Training.

I can not even put into writing what an amazing trainer Jim is. I have had several trainers and none of which can even come near the professionalism, knowledge, and motivation that Jim exudes on a daily basis. Even when I doubt myself, he is there to push me to the next level. Before starting at the Training Room, I was at a point where my workouts were just stagnate and I was barely seeing results. Since starting with Jim's crossfit/kettlebell training classes, I have seen remarkable results and literally plan my week around working out. After many years of going to the gym for what I thought was a good workout I realized I was not seeing results. After training with Jim for only five months I can see and feel RESULTS! It is an amazing thing to be able to get a workout in 30 minutes and know that it was exactly what my body needed AND more beneficial than spending twice that amount of time at the gym. Jim is professional, motivating, experienced, and committed to his clients. Even in a class environment Jim's focus and attention make it feel like one-on-one training. He clearly has an expressed interest in our success and overall health. Because of Jim, I was finally able to "quit the gym!"

It was a great workout shop. I was just starting with kettlebells and the instructors Mike, Jim and company really did a great job. I've been working out with Jim for close to a year and a half, and he is a top-notch professional, master motivator, and a constant innovator when it comes to workout design. He puts the "Work" in workouts - slacking will not be tolerated! Most importantly, he insists that every rep be done the RIGHT way for maximum benefit and minimum risk of injury.

Jim comes into class with a gleam in his eyes and you know he is coming up with another good workout. These past 5 months have been top notch training. Jim puts serious thoughts in to our workouts for maximum gains in strength and endurance. You never know what is coming next but he is such a great instructor that failure is not an option. He will get you through with motivation, technique, and little push if your not pushing hard enough. His knowledge gives me complete confidence in class. He says , I do. What else do you need?

I have been training with Jim for over a year now. As a long time athlete I never thought I would like having a trainer. To my surprise I found Jim to be the very knowledgable and have an uncanny knack of knowing just how much I can do. Pushing me to my limit, but not over it.
I successfully ran my first marathon in nearly four years. I believe the cross training I have done with Jim greatly contributed that success.

Jim is the consummate professional. Intense yet realistic to the diverse level of clients that he works with.
Jim is not blind to the limits of himself as an athlete or his clients but is not concessionary either. This is the quality of a top shelf athlete, coach and trainer.
He places himself as an athlete and his clients in the best possible position to succeed on that rare day when everything breaks right. As a very high level runner for many years, I am very careful to whom I intrust my body for training. Jim has earned that trust from me and as an athlete that is invaluable.
Jim himself is a high level athlete equally adept at land events as he is with water craft events. Not many can say that.

I've had the pleasure of having Jim as a business partner for the last nine years. We have attended three RKC's together and have been running a two VERY successful training business based around Russian Kettlebell Training. One of the reasons we are so successful is because of Jim's ability to design just the right programs for such a diverse population of clients. As a client coming into our facility, you will know exactly what you are getting when you train with the "Milk Man". Jim is tough, but compassionate with ALL of his victims. He expects perfection and progression from all. This is just one reason he has some of the same clients since 1994. In my twenty plus years in the Fitness and Sports Medicine industries I have seen trainers come and go. The "Milk Man" is here to stay!!! We will be ruling the Jersey Shore for many more years to come.

I like to think of Jim Milkowski as the Master of Ceremonies when it comes to running a room full of Kettlebells and people getting ready to use them. He negotiates the workouts like a man who has eyes in the back of his head. He sees to it that technique is maintained and that everyone is working to their potential without needless injury. He fully demonstrates technique, even to those who have been working with kettlebells for awhile. His positive attitude and "good job" comments keep you going to reach farther fitness goals. He's a very creative person as well, dreaming up his next workout and... he plays good music!

I've been training with Jim since March and i have nothing to say except WOW. His work outs are second to none, if you like being in top shape he's the man with the plan. As a fighter i need to know the workouts i'm doing will put me in elite condition. When you see clients who have the goal of just being in decent shape actually go beyond their original intention by just following Jim's routines it's amazing. But what defines Jim is his love for what he does. He keeps you motivated and helps you push through the pain. Great trainer, great athlete, and an even better person.

Jim has a great ability to challenge everyone with his work outs. It doesn't matter if you are 22 and in the shape of your life or 62. He is a stickler for technique from start to finish, but he manages to make it fun as well. If you are interested in building lean usable muscle and increasing your over all fitness this is your starting point. My surfing and overall fitness have skyrocketed. Viva la Bell!

As an instructor in the martial arts for 17 years, I know the commitment, and passion it takes to encourage/motivate people to push through physical and mental barriers. Jim has all the tools and compassion it takes to work with such a wide variety of people. He knows his stuff and is amazing at passig on his knowledge. I have never seen a person who guts it out for a couple of months not have fantastic results working with Jim. I need to keep myself in top shape and Jim helps me to do this while having fun with challenging and exciting workouts ! Jim's workouts give you the ability to perform at an optimal level at a pace that is within your aerobic ability and at the same time strongly encourage you to challenge yourself to go beyond your expectations. I have been working out for more years than I'd like to think about and have trained with many people over those years. Within the last year I have achieved a goal that I never would have imagined possible at this point in my life. I have been running for many years and am an avid tennis player, and my strength and endurance in both sports has increased. I have been training with Jim for over a year now. During the first training session, I was so very impressed with Jim's style. His easy-going nature and encouragement gave me the confidence to believe that I could grow strong. I was also impressed with Jim's serious approach to technique. He was, and continues to be, most concerned that his clients have the "technique" down, thereby avoiding injuries which can discourage training. Over the past year, I have grown impressively strong and so much more confident! Jim pushes us hard, yet he always has an encouraging remark. In fact, when you're really struggling through a set, it's then that Jim's input really helps. Jim mixes up his personal training sessions and his Crossfit workouts. You can't wait to get to The Training Room to see what "beating" he's devised! Just watch out for that glimmer in his eye and that smirk his mouth makes. It's then that you know he's come up with another killer for the "Plaza of Pain!" I'll never train anywhere else!

The person who I have come to know and admire is an extremely talented individual, who knows how to encourage ,teach and some how push you to levels you never thought you could achieve.Jim is extremely great at what he does,he is focused, very organized and always knows the right moment to encourage you. I have come a long way since starting to train with Jim in May of '06. Jim is a very knowledgeable professional and a master at planning the torturous workouts he puts us through. I've been working out for over 25 years and am finally getting in shape. I've done every single kind of workout you can imagine but none has helped me find the innate strength I finally have from training with Jim M. As soon as he was satisfied with my technique, he started pushing me to my limit and beyond and hasn't stopped since, no matter how hard I beg. I love the brief and all out, no nonsense workouts I get with every session, whether in class, or in private training. There is no pontificating and no judgment - just straight instruction and THAT IS the icing on the cake!
