Find out what kettlebells and a qualified CK-FMS instructor can do for you. Stephen earned his RKC certification in October of 2008 and his RKCII in June of 2009. He also attended the Certified Kettlebell Functional Movement Specialist program in May, 2009. Stephen teaches group classes regularly at Condition Kettlebell Gym in Atlanta, Georgia and at L.A. Boxing in Roswell, Georgia. He is also available for personal training and private workshops. Stephen is also a Kettlebell Lifting Coach certified by the American Kettlebell Club ("AKC") in the Girevoy Sport (i.e., kettlebell lifting) techniques taught by Head Coach Valery Fedorenko.

I trained with Steve for 1 month while in Atlanta on business. I'd had previous experience with Crossfit, but this was my first experience with RKC. He was patient, but a taskmaster, ramping me up quickly with 3-4 sessions per week. I especially liked the ropework that he incorporated into his workouts, and the fact that he explained the purpose of each exercise. When are you going to open a gym in Orlando, Steve?

Stephen is known for teaching the more difficult classes so you always know that you are going to get a great workout with him, but he is also very patient with a great deal of attention to detail. He constantly helps everyone improve their form and technique while also ensuring they get a very challenging training session.

I have not trained a lot with Steve but have really enjoyed his instruction so far and am looking forward to more. He is really confident and does a great job explaining technique. I feel he supports the RKC credo of safety and form first and makes a great addition to the RKC team. He is a real assest to Gym Condition in Atlanta. Steve is also great with promoting youth fitness. He helped us at Gym Condition with some "Fitness Fun" videos using my five year old twins for pressing exercises. It's really a joy to be around Steve, Delaine, and Gym Condition in Atlanta. I highly recommend!!!

I've always considered myself a pretty strong guy . . . and a smartass, but when someone 35 pounds lighter than me is also considerably stronger and in much better shape than me I shut my mouth and listen, and I'm glad I did. Some of the guys on my team had been talking about kettlebells, so I watched a few DVDs and thought I knew what I was doing. I was wrong. With Stephen's help I opened my eyes to the world of benefits from proper kettlebell lifting - strength, power, endurance. He was exactly the type of teacher I need: not full of himself, but (as my wife likes to say) he wouldn't take any of my s**t!

I like training with Stephen because 1) he's intelligent, 2) he's professional, and 3) he's concise.

Intelligence - There is an underlying intelligence in his workout deigns. He hones our neuro-muscular intelligence by closely managing our form with exercises we know. Then he confuses the muscles and neurology in the proximate or final exercise by adding free-flowing and exhaustive exercises.

Professional - Stephen promotes a safe environment in our workouts as well as the studio in general. He's very business like.

Concise - Stephen is the guy you look for to check your form. He will tell you how to fix what you're doing wrong w/ simple easy to remember cues.

I had the pleasure of training with Stephen last night as I am in town on business. Delaine was kind enough to allow me to join sessions on very short notice, and I was very satisfied. Stephen led a very intense class with the focus on serious time under tension \ work load. We did tons of KB work in a compact 45 minute session. The sadistic "rope" thing he has come up with is brutal. At first glance I was thinking you gotta be kidding me that this is considered a workout...then it was my turn...:30 is all a grown man wants at a time on this portion of the workout. If you are in Atlanta, you have to check out Condition KB Gym! Thanks Stephen!

I thought I was in pretty good shape when I met Steve, but he's completely changed how I think about fitness and strength. His style is simple and all about results, and he gets them! It makes me mad to think about all the hours I wasted with other "personal trainers" and the stupid things they had me doing. I have recommended his classes to everyone I know! I train at both LA Boxing Roswell-Alpharetta and LA Boxing Marietta and have been really impressed with Stephen and Delain since they started doing kettlebell training at LA Boxing.
Stephen has a really descriptive and motivational way of explaining every kettlebell movement we do and how kettlebells are beneficial in general. The whole concept of "stronger, not bigger" is what I have been looking for. Of all the kickboxing, boxing, strength and flexibility classes I take throughout the week, the one I look forward to most is the Russian Kettlebell class.
I am totally into the concept of working your muscles together rather than the standard used now of working muscles in isolation. This has helped my kickboxing tremendously and I believe anyone in boxing/MMA needs to incorporate kettlebells into their training.
Stephen is not only highly intelligent, but full of high energy and it really comes across in the workouts.

Having struggledHaving struggled with my weight for several years, Stephen suggested that I try kettlebells. Eagerly, I purchased a kettlebell along with an instruction video and book. However, it quickly went by the wayside because I had no one to train with or show me the correct form and techniques. Steve was persistent in having me come to the gym for a workout. Of course I was nervous, having put the kettlebell down, I was unfamiliar with the exercises.
Stephen patiently went over each exercise before the class and monitored my form and technique throughout the class. Stephen also explained why we were doing each exercise and the muscle groups that I should be using to perform the exercises. Most of all, Stephen was a leader by example. During the class, he performed each exercise with the class and provided a visual example of the proper form, technique and breathing we should all be using.
When I left the class, I was confident that I could use the kettlebell to improve my overall fitness. As a beginner, I was not embarrassed nor did I feel uncomfortable at anytime. Stephen was an excellent instructor and I look forward to workout with him again.

I was introduced to kettlebells by Stephen. I had the fortunate opportunity of having one-on-one instruction from him before considering joining Gym Condition. Less than five months later I received my RKC certification as well. At the workshop, I realized his meticulous instruction, his patience, and knowledge contributed to my success on earning my certification.

Stephen is great when it comes to attention to detail. He focuses on creating and maintaining a safe and effective environment for all of his students. His workouts are physically demanding however, never pushes you to a point of exceeding what your body is capable of doing. He teaches by example.

Stephen has a passion not only for kettlebells, but also for teaching. His knowledge for strength training extends past kettlebells, and continues to grow. He is a great asset to have in the strength training community.

Stephen is a great instructor! He is able to explain the moves in simple terms so that even a novice can perform the exercises correctly. His workouts are different every class so boredom is prevented. It's obvious that he takes his position as an instructor seriously and that he uses forethought in developing each workout. eye for detail, knowledge, clear direction Rated 10 out of 10
I'm relatively new to kettlebells, so I can't really compare Stephen to other RKCs, but I can compare him to a long line of personal trainers, class instructors and workout partners. He brings a combination of attitude, eye for detail, knowledge, clear direction and invigorating workouts that none have matched.

Not much can get me out of bed at 5:30am after 4 or 5 hours of sleep, but I'm usually up before the alarm on KB mornings looking forward to a challenging class. I actually wish there were more days of 6:15am classes.

I'm over 40 and haven't been close to this kind of shape for 15 years. It's nice when your shirts start to feel tight in your lats and shoulders and loose around the belly. A few months of KB has been better than the last 4 years of running, circuit training and free weights.

I was able to train individually with Stephen on three different occasions and drastically improved my technique and understanding of kettlebell kinetics and form. Stephen has a unique ability to watch a student a few times and immediately find the root of their issues with form or posture. Anyone that wants to take their KB training to an entirely new level, I encourage them to hire Stephen for a one-on-one session to really tap into his knowledge and passion for KB's. If you are a beginner and want to crush through the learning curve, it is worth the extra few bucks to have Stephen train you for an hour on the side. You will see skyrocketing results.
