Reifkind, Whitley, Reifkind 4-DVD Set

All of the DVDs were informative, interesting, and well worth the investment. Its been my experience that while there is an abundance of useful information available, some products are timeless. Those are the ones I occasionally review months and years after purchasing to continually refine or improve my technique or relearn what I have forgotten. My "timeless" list includes "Enter the Kettlebell" and "Convict Conditioning." I suspect "Programming the Kettlebell Swing" will be yet another. I've been doing swings for years, yet still garnered new ideas for both improving my technique and introducing others to kettlebells.

... and that's the reason you need to buy this set of DVDs, because they will give you a new perspective on those fundamentals.

Tracy, Mark and Dave are especially impressive in their outstanding 4-DVD co-presentation workshop. They are exceptionally knowledgeable and displayed a high degree of expertise and professionalism in their kettlebell demonstrations and specific training techniques, which includes equal work/rest routines to enhanced cardio and fat burning benefits, lat activation for increased stability, strength and safety, and how to efficiently smooth-out the sticking points in the Get-Up. Also, the old-time strongman feats were interesting and entertaining. In addition, the exercise progressions are quite informative and accommodates individual capabilities from beginner to advanced.

Four DVDs - three outstanding instructors - what more can you ask for?

In my seemingly never-ending search for material to enhance my training, I often have to sift through a lot of oysters to find that single pearl. With these DVDs, you can create a pearl necklace with minimal effort.

The gold standard for the getup is Kalos Sthenos. Start there & then incorporate the subtle changes from Dave Whitley, The Iron Tamer. The hip position in the transition on the way down from half-lunge to "find the hand" is wonderful. Many of my clients tend to just fall onto their hand with the hope they don't collapse. This one move alone would be the central pearl on my necklace.

I have already incorporated the "Queen of Swing" Tracy Reifkind's routines into my workouts. "Work into Rest" is 6 minutes of pure torture/ecstasy. Plus, it is heartening to read of her transition from couch potato back to fitness. This is especially poignant as I went through the same transformation a few years ago.

Mark's discussion of the lats is great. How to bring the 2nd largest muscle into play & thus avoiding injury to the shoulder is a must-watch for anyone working with a KB, or any lifter for that matter.

While I don't aspire to bend nails or destroy cooking implements, watching Iron Tamer bring his moniker to life is just fun.

Am very glad I bought these D.V.D.s. I get more and more out of them each time I watch. A wealth of Information. Well worth the money. Have been feeling better and am encouraged to expect even more results from working out with my 35 lb. bell. that Pavel recommended. Hoping to get a 2nd.bell eventually. Yes, get these D.V.D.s; a great investment.
