10/10 Best Introduction to the Kettlebell

By G. Schumacher / Alexandria, VA USA

I cannot think of a better entry-level introduction to using the kettlebell. A vastly superior effort to Pavel's original DVD, "The Russian Kettlebell Challenge". The coverage of the warmups and the description of how you need to prepare before exercising with kettlebells are alone worth getting the DVD. There are nuances in performance demonstrated in the DVD that truly clarify and amplify the information contained in the book.

8/10 new to kettlebell

By Billy Williams / OC, Cailfornia

I new a very limited amount of kettlebells before making the purchase of the book and DVD. The DVD was good and explained, what to do and what not to do. After one month of using the kettlebell I feel stronger then when I was using regular dumbels....

10/10 Beginner? Advanced? THIS set will help you progress even further!

By Gavin, "little" U.S. Army / Colorado, USA

I've been using kettlebells for a few years now, but this set is an excellent addition to anyone's arsenal of knowledge. Not only can you use the principles taught for kettlebells, but for many other types of odd-object lifts as well. I HIGHLY recommend this if you're a beginner and I also HIGHLY recommend it if you're more advanced. The book and DVD go hand-in-hand explaining every fine detail of kettlebell lifting. It will teach you to be safe, powerful, and elite. If you want to be RKC or just get your fitness level in the RIGHT gear, then get this set!

10/10 Great workout!

By Happy newbie / Austin, TX USA

Very good instruction on proper use of the kettlebells and what not to do. I'm just in the minimum workout mode. Am looking forward to the results I believe will come down the road ...

10/10 Absolutely worth buying. If you want to train with Kettlebells, get this.

By Robert Dorf / Cherry Hill, NJ, USA

I've enjoyed Pavel's stuff for years; he's one of the best strength training writers in the business, entertaining and with a wealth of knowledge. I've been doing a modified version of his Power to the People style workouts for a long time, alternating with a modified version of the Naked Warrior program.

But, I never touched Kettlebells.

Didn't want them. Thought they were over-hyped, maybe a nice strength tool, but nowhere near as useful as a good adjustable Olympic barbell and dumbbell set.

This book and DVD set, along with my first kettlebell, have partially changed that opinion.

The Program is well presented, with a logical and easy to follow progression from simple preparatory drills up to advanced training. The DVD and book mesh well together, each shoring up the other's weak points. I'm very confident that I'll be getting considerable training value out of the set.

As to Kettlebells, I'm impressed. Could you do something similar with standard Olympic style barbells, dumbbells, and a training program? Sure. But the Kettlebell, used with the program presented here, has it's own considerable strengths (the swing in particular). I won't be giving up my other training tools, but I'm sure I'll be getting plenty of use out of my new Kettlebells.

10/10 All meat no Fat!!

By Holschuh Bart / Baghdad, Iraq

For years i have spent countless hours doing cardio and weightlifting, ever searching for the new work out that would boost my body to the next level.I had heard of kettlebells and the hype so i figured that i would give it a try.Pleased doesnt really describe my satisfaction with the Enter the Kettlebell Book/DVD set.Pavel skipps past all the extra fat and straight to the meat of what you need to know and how to do it correct.

10/10 Book is good, video is better. Together - fantastic.

By Drew / Johnsburg, IL

To properly use the kettlebell, one needs to see good form demonstrated. Pavel's Enter the Kettlebell book is great for understanding the why's and how's. The video drives those points home. I cannot imagine taking up this exercise without this book/video combo. Excellent reference!

10/10 fantastic

Great purchase really educational and informitave I am sore from my earlobes to my toes, Thanks

10/10 Great Product

By Teano / California, USA

Great starter kit,

10/10 This is what you need to start using Kettlebells

By Craig M / Baghdad, Iraq

Thanks Pavel - this is exactly the product one needs as an introduction to the RKC system. I had purchased my kettlebells and The Russian Kettlebell Challenge kit. The kit was good for showing you the variety of moves involved in kettlebell training, but I felt there needed to be more step-by-step instruction. For example, I was beating the hell out of my arms with the bells, which became tiresome.
Enter the Kettlebell has given me what I needed.. I am now performing get-ups with the 70lb kettlebell, have more power and control with my cleans and presses, not to mention increased muscularity where it counts.
This DVD is so good, someone has already stolen it from my trainig center, and I had it less than a month.
In the video Pavel has also become more comfortable with the camera, and his instruction is more refined.
Another quality DragonDoor product.
You guys Rock!

10/10 WHAT THE?

By Tim Bradford / Nashville ,TN

I am a fire fighter in Nashville TN. and have been using kettlebells for about 3 years off and on. I tore up my left knee in an apartment fire two years ago and recently tore my right knee up a month ago so I had alot of time on my hands and decided to get the ETK to study up on the basics of kettle bells. My son, who is 14, took intrest in the program so we started him on it. WHAT THE? I can not believe the gains he has made in just a months time. He went from being able to do 2 pullups to about 12 to 15 pullups. He has always wanted abs and has worked pretty hard at getting them. (with little results) He has them now. He is much stronger now and I cant wait to see his gains as he continues with the program. I am sure it will assist him with the sports that he is involved in. Thank you. I cant wait to get started myself. This purchase was worth every penny.

8/10 great information, but lots of unnecessary hype

By dd / Olympia, WA

The book and dvd together provide excellent, basic kb instruction, and some great teaching and learning tips. However, there are pages and pages in the book dedicated to self-congratulations and self-compliments that are unnecessary and get in the way of the content of the text. I learned a ton from the book dvd, but i had to wade through a lot of other stuff to get it.

10/10 Wonderful Resource, a must have if you are ever going to swing a bell

By Jennifer Aguilar / Pueblo, Colorado United States

ETK is a wonderful book with the most interesting history and cases of what KB's have done for people. The core exercises and proper mechanics are meticulously explained so you don't hurt yourself and so you can get the most out of your workouts. Pavel has a great program to cut your teeth on and to advance to an experienced gerevik. Even better, Pavel's writing style is so entertaining that you can't put ETK down. There is NOTHING boring or dry about ETK.
Personally, I would recomend the ETK book,I could have done without the video because I am familiar with the moves. My husband liked the video and the video would be good for people who have to see a move being done to understand it.

10/10 Bolshoi Spaciba Tovarisch Pavel

By Larry / Dallas, TX

Between the ETK book and DVD, the great friendly help on the dragondoor.com forums, I have been truly welcomed to the Party.

The ETK DVD is wonderful for showing the proper form for the excercises.

I think that if you want to learn kettle bells, there is NO BETTER place to look than Dragon Door, Pavel, and anything associated with the RKC program. You will achieve your results faster, and MUCH Safer with instruction that comes from Pavel.

My wife and I are new to Kettle bells, and the ETK book/DVD is an invaluable resource to pick up the excersizes. I have already lost an inch on my waist just by doing the Break In Period. I have been getting complements on how I'm slimmming up. Kettle-bells is helping me perform better with my normal Kung Fu workouts, and I look forward to competing in Kung Fu after I have been doing K-Bells for a year or so.

10/10 Enter The Kettlebell Review

By Bert Pullen / Ottawa, Ontario

I hope that anyone who is considering their own fitness program through KB training, purchase the ETK book and companion DVD. You will not be disappointed as Pavel graciously shares the tips, techniques and inspiration that we need to progress through to whatever level we aspire too. I am very happy with the body weight foundational exercises that I would suggest that EVERYONE, regardless of experience, practise daily before their work out to ingrain them into their inner selves. After all, in whatever we do in our lives, having the foundation as something that we own, we can only improve, progress and quite frankly impress ourselves when we reach levels of technique and fitness that we may have never considered possible. As a 58 year old legally blind man, over weight and lacking in strength that I possessed even 10 years ago, Enter The Kettlebell is the answer to my prayers in losing that spare tire, regaining strength, flexibility and the other health benefits that will be mine with practise and effort. Besides, in a 'sick' way - it is fun! This may have to do with the fact that I am a Canadian but maybe not. I would classify myself as a beginner in all things kettlebell.
Buy the book, the DVD and start at the beginning. Enjoy, learn and do not rush things. Work at your own pace. You will not be disappointed with your purchase!
Thank you Pavel for the tome that through which I learn something new every time I look at it. In my humble opinion, this is THE kit to own for all kettlebell folks. It is invaluable as a resource.

10/10 best

By Joe / Mattoon Illinois

there is no reason to review this, it is simply the best, everything else needs to try to catch up.

4/10 Enter the Kettlebell

By Waters, P / Philadelphia, PA

Not what I really expected, but then again, you might like it.
I was expecting a "routine" type video and this is pure instruction.
No real information on "how many".. "how heavy".. "how long"..
Being female, I was looking for a exercise videos that was more of a 45 minute routine to follow and strive to keep pace with. Like I said, this video is not like that.

It is informative, but if you do not have the drive to keep it going on your own, this is not for you.

10/10 Exciting -- get started with a good resource

By Charlie / Denver, CO USA

I found the ordering process easy and we got the purchase on time and in good condition. The product was as advertised and has gotten us started on the road to better health. Thanks Pavel and Dragon Door!

My son got me started on these KBs... I am going to start calling him Comarad Giervik...

10/10 SIMPLY ELEGANT

By David Eunice / Lawtey Florida USA

ETK is simply the most informative piece of training gear i have thanks for a great package

7/10 Good for beginners

By Dave Moore / Indianapolis, In USA

As a kettlebell novice, this dvd was very helpful and I would recommend it to any novice. Form is the key to prevent injuries, knowing that, I waited to receive this dvd before starting with my kettlebell. I would not have bought the book if I had it to do over again; however, it is a quality product if books are your thing.

10/10 Excellent

By / Amsterdam, Netherlands

What I really like about Pavel is the details regarding the breathing. Also it nice to see some prep tools before you begin training with the Kettlebell. Can't wait to do a the Kelltlebell workshop.

10/10 the best intro to the most effective strength and cardio workout on the market today

By john m whalen / englishtown, nj

I felt that " Enter the Kettlebell" book/dvd combo provided not only the best and most detailed instruction on proper kettlebell training but also on fitness in general. The focus on detail in this training material gave me the confidence to move ahead on my own with this new type of training for myself. The insruction on how to perform the moves competently and safely also came with a complete workout guide with proven success. I recently brought this program on vacation and used it in the hotel room. My wife commented on how she could see so many muscle groups involved in the workout and I felt a great deal of benefit from just the first few sessions. The proper technique is the key element and I am working on that with several moves described in the material. I am so pleased with the instructional integrity of this program that I not only look forward to working out but I anticipate personal improvement so I can purchase more advanced sets of instruction from Pavel in the near future.

10/10 Simple yet effective

By Douglas Whitacre / New Kensington, Pennsylvania United States

I enjoyed Pavel's straight forward approach, no fluff or filler. His routine is simple yet effective. The book complements the DVD and should be ordered together if you are new to Kettlebells as the book goes over setting up a routine and the DVD does a great job explaining the correct way to do the exercises without injury.

8/10 Good Fundamentals

His no bull attitude is informative and entertaining. Don't just get the book. The DVD is a must have!

10/10 Easy to follow Intense workouts

By Rodger / Lee's Summit, MO

I started using kettlebells in July (as a part of Crossfit), this book helped me work on proper form and safety. It is easy to follow and has alot of good exercises and stretches to follow.

These pieces are very well done. It is a no-nonsense approach to fitness and the material tells you exactly how to get the job done. Excellent.

9/10 Enter the Kettlebell

By Chad / Texas, USA

I have been using kettlebells for a few months now, and wanted to make sure I was doing things the right way. I found the Enter the Kettlebell book and DVD very informative and have already started to incorporate new things into my workouts, such as snatch challenges and the Dept of Energy's "Man Maker" routine. Pavel is a no-nonsense guy and I like the way he presents information. I plan on using Dragondoor in the future for all my kettlebell and kettlebell instruction needs. I have seen tremendous gains since beginning kettlebells and look forward to furthering my knowledge base using the vast array of products your company offers. Enter the Kettlebell was a very good purchase, and I plan on getting Power to the People and Advanced Strength Strategies soon.

9/10 Well worth the price

By Mike Figielski / Randolph, NJ

Great way to get started and learn the kettle bell basics. also enough there to progress pretty far with kettle bell strength and endurance. Eliminates a lot of confusion regarding all of the many exercise and protocols out there. Get the book and DVD, well worth the price.

10/10 almost super

By Mike Ridge / Louisville,Kentucky

I wish he covered a little more about sets and value of increasing each CP and what the total amount in future would be.

In learning, I have moved my belt buckle back 4 holes. Two, I had to make my self.My weight has gone from 218 lbs to 212.
So It has been worth while

10/10 All I Expected & More!

By Andy O. / Bemidji, MN 56601

Gotta love Pavel's straight forward method of demonstrating and explaining the kettlebell and the right way to work out. My wife and I have been using the kettlebell with great results and loving the pain.

10/10 Enter the Kettlebell helps SWAT Officer

By Simon / Jacksonville, FL

I am a Team Leader on a Metropolitan SWAT team in Florida. After 13 years in Police Work I was suffering from many overuse injuries from my normal running and high rep calisthenic workouts. I started training with Kettlebells about 5 years ago after purchasing the "Russian Kettlebell Challenge". I implemented the "Top ten Russian Kettlebell Challenge Training Guidelines" into my hectic schedule with considerable success.

However, I was always seeking a more detailed program that would take me to that next level of Kettlebell training. That is what "Enter the Kettlebell" provides. A step by step plan of strength building and increased conditioning. My back and legs are stronger than ever, which really helps with long callouts in heavy Tac gear, Obstacle courses, and a hundred other job related tasks.

I can't recommend this book and DVD more, for Police, Military or anyone seeking increased functional strength and conditioning. I am now completing the program minimum with a 2 Pood Kettlebell and will be moving to the program maximum shortly. Buy it, read it, then apply the system to your PT schedule.

10/10 Excellent!

By James Buchanan, HKC / Freehold, NJ

The book and DVD were excellent. I was inspired to take the HHC class in NYC after the Enter The Kettlebell purchase. After the certification course, I went back to the book & DVD and got even more out of the set! I have lost over 50 pounds of fat, made incredible strength gains in my squat and deadlift... and I believe it was a direct result of my advanced understanding of the benefits of core training with kettlebells!

8/10 Great to get started, but there may be more needed...

By Ray / New Jersey, America

I was looking into P90X and was told it was too intense and difficult to stay with. After being referred to CrossFit on my Motorcycle forum and reading there, I found Dragon Door and remembered reading about Pavel a few years ago. Wanted to get into real shape without the boredom of workouts. Saw both CrossFit and Pavel's stuff and knew that is what I needed to do -- intensity and core-driven.

Purchased the set and watched the video with my family. Pavel does a good job in setting you up to begin, BUT he does not cover breathing technique. In the research I've done, you have to breathe and puff correctly to utilize your core muscles, etc, and that important area isn't even touched on. As Pavel runs through the movements, you can hear him puff but he doesn't address it.

I'll need to supplement it with other resources on the web until I get it down or attend an RKC workshop!

Otherwise, good content as well as I can figure. Will get my kettlebells locally in a week and can't wait to get back in shape at 60!

10/10 Motivating and very clear instructions

By lazy guy needing a good workout / New York, NY

This Russian will get you off your girly-man ass in no-time.

9/10 Great starter kit!

By Frank / Ottawa, Canada

I am new to kettlebell training. This kit has given me the keys to the basic moves. DVD is very helpful in getting the right form (as a visual aid) I read the book twice and watched the DVD several times before even picking up my kettlebell. Great workout! I sweat more in 30 mins of light kettlebell training, than 60 mins on the treadmill or eliptical machine. Thanks Comrad!

8/10 Great Stuff

By male-58 yrs. - 6'1'' - 200lbs / Houston, Tx

I am completely new to Kettlebells. I am a 58 year old Martial artist that has been finding it very hard to maintain my strength and conditioning. I believe kettlebells is the answer.

I found the video very helpful in establishing proper form but would like a little more detail on begining routines for the rank beginner.

Looking forward to the workouts!

10/10 A return to fundamentals

By Dr. Ray Savage - Chiropractor / Pensacola, FL

I found this set to be a valuable update to 'Russian Kettlebell Challenge'. Pavel breaks the moves down in a clear manner that will enable a beginner to safely attain the skill set to use the 'bell. It's also a great refresher that reinforces the mechanics of the foundation drills.

10/10 This is what I have been looking for!!

By 45 year old male police officer / Cortland, NY USA

I am a 45 year old male police officer. I have been a police officer for 10 years now. Two years ago I stepped on a scale and found that I had turned in to the cop I swore I would not become (220 pounds). OVER WEIGHT AND LAZY. I did weight watchers online and started running, I dropped 40 pounds. I wanted to start lifting weights again, because I wanted to increase my strength, but I could not find the time. This past winter, I packed on some pounds again (20 pounds). I have recently dropped that 20 pounds. My 24 year old Air Force Son was recently home and he was telling me about this kettlebell thing. I checked it out online, and said to myself, this looks like what I have been looking for. I have had my kettlebell and Enter The Kettlebell book and DVD for two weeks and am enjoying learning the techniques of using it. I will be learning and using a kettlebell for a long time, possibly I will think about becoming an instructor in my area. Thank you dragondoor. My girlfriend has also started using a kettlebell.

10/10 Pavels enter the kettlebell defies age and genetics

By Neil Mitchell Jr. / Bronx, New York United States

I am a soon to be fifty year old personal trainer and Muscle Activation Technique specialist. I have been weight training for fifteen years and did some ameteur boxing in my youth. Because of a natural lack of strength and endurance, my success in both of these activities turned out to be very limited.
A trainer at the gym who used kettlebells showed me some basic kettlebell exercises. I immediatly recognized that kettlebells worked very differently than free weights, improving strength through muscle fiber recruitment and technique rather than hypertrophy.
I was hooked right away but quickly hit a plateu due to my lack of proper technique and range of motion. So I decided to fix this problem by going right to the source and got pavels enter the kettlebell book and dvd kit. Pavel is the man!! After only three weeks of using his range of motion exercises and kettlebell techniques, I increased my workout volume by twenty five percent and went from using a twenty K to a twentyeight K kettlebell with the same effort and no joint aches. His no nonsense approach to training coupled with his tremendous knowlege base is not only informative but inspirational and entertaining. I now have a new goal, To train very hard and enroll in an RKC certification weekend next year. If a below average Joe like me can do it, anybody can.

10/10 LIFE CHANGING

By Stefan BELICAL / Dollard-Des-Ormeaux, QC, CANADA

It's never too late to change your life. You wait and look everywhere to see a spark coming out from dark to show you the path to follow. For me this spark came one day browsing the internet looking for something that can fit into my schedule. Pavel and the kettlebell amazed me with the simplicity and convenience of exercises. I was "WOW!...THAT'S WHAT I'M LOOKING FOR!" and since that day Pavel and the kettlebell became members of my family.
The book and the DVD complete each other and the missing link in my conditioning. If the mind cannot catch a detail from the book, the eye will do it from the DVD. Amazing. And confirmed the way I was thinking about conditioning and strenght: SIMPLE AND SINISTER! A perfect combination. Now I'm walking the path at my own pace and enjoy the pain. It feels good to discover that I have in my body muscles that I only saw in the anatomy books. And they are functional too. The dishonorable fat is melting transforming the body into pure energy. Is working, guys!
The products' quality and the delivery is 10/10.
Congratulations, Dragon Door!
Thank you Pavel!

10/10 Life Changing

By Mike, 44 years old. / Australia

After watching the DVD I was captured by the concept of kettle bells, something completly new to me. I found the DVD well put together, easy to watch, rivetting, and super informative. Pavels style is very entertaining and his step by step approach perfect for me to learn how to do the exercises properly. I also found that playing Pavels DVD, with his unique style and persona is great for motivation before and during a workout.

The companion book is great. While it covers much of the same things as the DVD it is also full of all kinds of interesting bits that can only be comunicated in a writen form. The writing style is like the DVD very unique, entertaining and easy to read. I enjoy having both forms of the material.

I can honesty say that I have discovered a method of exercise that builds strength and fitness in an enjoyable way that fits into my buzy lifestyle. I wish I had found them 30 years ago.

10/10 Words alone cannot express how happy I am!!!!!!

By chris cantwell / mASSAPEQUA PARK, New York United States

Ever since I watched the DVD and have read the book, my workouts with the kettlebell have been much better than my gym workouts! I used to go to the gym 5 days a week for over an hour each day. Now i go maybe twice a week and for only 30 minutes at a time. I'm able to play with my kids without any pain in my shoulders, back, or knees. I also feel that I get more out of my workouts. Both the book and the DVD made sure I did all the exercises right.

Enter the Kettlebell Book/DVD can provide a strong fitness foundation for most everyone. The price is reasonable for the priceless information that is given - the Bible of Kettlebell.
Strength for life.

8/10 Worth Every Ruble

By Chuck / Powell, OH

When Pavel tells you to do something - you do it, and do not deviate. Just as importantly, when he tells you to NOT do something, you had better NOT do it. The "beginner" routine of swings and get-ups sounds simple for weekend warriors and amateurs. Just these two exercises, executed well, will rip your muscles like no other routine. If you don't have formal training in the KB, you need this kit.

10/10 100% SATISFIED!

By david dunnam / mobile, Alabama United States

Pavel really delivers. basic instructions, diagrams , workout routines and more. I,m 44 years old and I've been in the gym for most of my life... this will take me to the next level.. no more of the same old same old. I'm already feeling the pain!!

10/10 enter the kettlebell

By Wanda Edwards / Downingtown, Pennsylvania United States

The book is very informational and although there are pictures to help show, the dvd explains as well as shows the actual movement, for those of us that have trouble comprehending the picture series. The dvd is more condensed as far as the information in the book, but it highlights the most important features that are presented in the book. The book and the dvd compliment each other well. If you are looking for a place to start with the kettlebells, these are very informative and give you a place to grow as well. Good for beginners and intermediates.

10/10 WTH...happened to my body ? !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! YES

By Russ Moon / Richmond, VA USA

I "Entered the Kettlebell" read the book, watched the DVD, read the book studied the pictures and started my practice.

Cultivated enough skill not to hurt myself and started on what is going to be a remarkable journey.

2 weeks and 5 Kettlebell workouts later...I had lost 14 pounds.

I went to the gym after nothing but Kettlebell training and my strength in arm and leg exercises increased 30% ...with no weight training.

All I can say is I look forward to my next workout, still sucking air every time but my conditioning improves with each workout. I feel like I have discovered a secret weapon.

Thank you !

9/10 DVD good for newbie

By Jerry M / Mesa, AZ USA

Very entertaining and education material, and a little Russian humor too. The book would not be enough for a new kettlebell user like me, but I think the dvd fills the gaps.

10/10 Brand new to the kettlebell

By Karl T Beilmann / Anniston, AL USA

After viewing the DVD and reading the book, I started very slowly and following the instructions as exactly as I can. I am 62 years old and had heart surgery 12 years ago. So I am really needing the exercise and getting back in shape now that I have retired. The book and DVD are excellent in their format and are very easy to understand. Even someone like myself, who hasn't exercised in a long time can follow it and do it properly. I really like the whole concept and can feel it in my muscles when done. I need this to lower my blood pressure and lose body fat, which is not easy when you pass 60 unless you really want to. Thank you Pavel for a great tool and hope to follow up with more in the future.

10/10 KB Serbia

By Com.Boki / Elemir,Serbia

The book is great!!!Pavel's writing abilities and style are excellent!I could read his material non-stop and that's the reason I read the book at once!!!Since I am busy with my school and basketball it's clear that I need something simple and effective and that's what ETK is.

9/10 Enter Kettlebell +26 lb bell

By M O / Augusta, GA

I am new to kettlebell, it looked like something I could do at home.
I haven't figured out where to practice it since the directions advise it will leave marks/dents when dropped.(Which I now realize probably will happen a lot initially). So, I'll stick with the first exercises until I get more comfortable with it.

9/10 Stylish presentation

By reverend linus / Laramie, WY USA

Pavel's unique style and humor come through very clearly. The quality of the exercise explanations is top notch, and the visuals are clear and concise. Great value.

8/10 Get them both!

By Klas Andersson / Stockholm, Sweden

It?s a great kit. First of all, the book is the one I recommend if you can only get one of the two. But if you can, do get them both. If you are like me, a beginner to kettlebells, then this is the way to go.
There are many sources on the internet on kettlebell-training, and it can become quite confusing. ETK is not confusing! Informative, and very basic. And in this case basic is very good! I highly recommend the ETK-kit, but most of all I recommend you to take up kettlebell-training. Fun and very effective!

9/10 Great inroduction to Kettlebells

By Meredith / Charleston, SC

Good basic instruction, helpful and practical information. Could do without the "comrade," though. But overall a good choice for someone just starting to use the kettlebells.

10/10 best gym ever

By carlos salas p / california

i love kettlebells and i will never stop using them. i've tried other products before, but nothing comes close to the quality control that dragon door offers.

8/10 Great Knowledge but fairly beginnner

By Chad / Alberta Canada

I had been using the kettlebells for a few weeks before i got the "Enter The Ketlebell" kit, and i was blown away how wrong i was doing everything. So the DVD was a great help to assist me in doing the exercises properly and with out injury. I did find the book to be a lot of great information but not as much about exercises with kettlebells as i would of hoped for. I am a boxer and in good shape so i moved through the book very quickly, so if you are in good shape i would recommend the DVD to start but maybe another book to get you to the next level. I work in a fitness store and on a daily basis recommend the Dragon Door website and Pavel products to my customers. Very helpfull with ordering and the shipping was quick.

10/10 Awesome for beginners

By Dave / Ohio

This kit is the best thing to buy if you want to start lifting KB's. It gives you detailed instructions on everything you need to know. The DvD is great for helping visually with the moves. Thanks, Pavel.

7/10 Great basics

By Angel Echevarria / Houston, Texas

Solid product! Great for the beginner looking for the basics on technique and safety. I recomend this product for the person at home looking for a clean start.

10/10 Best birthday gift ever!

By Vivian V. / Fort Lewis, WA

My husband and I bought this for his dad's birthday, he's 55. It was well received and Dad is chomping at the bit to start working with KBs. My husband has been using them in Iraq during his deployment and introduced me to them via webcam. KBs are the best all around piece of equipment you will ever own. In fact, my husband just bought me one for my birthday and I'm excited to use a real KB instead of those girly ones at my gym! Thanks Pavel, for bringing this here and getting our lazy american butts of the couch!

3/10 Not much....

By Unhappy / Sweden

Everybody write that this kit is the greatest, but I doesn?t think it contain so much for you. Buy other products from Pavel instead, that contains something worth the money.

3/10 Same Stuff As The Challenge

By Jim / AZ USA

Same stuff as the Challenge DVD. No definative workout program. Disappointing.

10/10 EXCELLENT INSTRUCTION & EASY TO FOLLOW KETTLEBELL DRILLS

By MSgt Jay Mossage / MCAS Beaufort, SC USA

The book and DVD provide detail instruction and simple drills to practice that ensure you are learning and following the instruction prior to even lifting a kettlebell. Very goal related instruction and as you master one skill you move on to the next drill. With each drill your skill level improves and all the while your moving towards a goal/challenge that is easy to track and notice improvement on which keeps the motivation level high. The drills also combine strenght and cardio exercise which greatly improve functional athletic ability in numerous sports and or martial arts conditioning. If your looking for improved functional ability and strenght which can be put to great use "Enter the Kettlebell" is a outstanding starting point which provides more then just numerous movements, it includes a plan! Schedule of drills and lenght is well thought out also and provides the correct amount of workload to rest ratio along with variety to keep improvements coming without spending hours working out daily.

8/10 Great book, helpful DVD,but could use some improvement

By jim / Austin,TX

The book does an adequate job of explaining not only the exercises themselves, but common problems and how to fix them. The preparatory work at the beginning of each chapter seems like it will be really helpful in learning each technique as quickly as possible, and the advanced information near the end gives me distinct goals to shoot for over time.

The biggest flaw I see in the whole work is the visuals. The DVD helps a little, but in the angled view point it is not as easy to tell were everything is supposed to be happening as it would be if there were two views; front and side. I don't know the best way to incorporate that into the product in the future, or if the angle was chosen as a happy medium, but it would help learning the drills a lot.

The Bonus material for download is exactly the same format as the other information, which makes it flow seamlessly, and it seems like it will be helpful as I advance.

10/10 When we say kettlebell, we mean, no wimps allowed

By Rick Babcock / Fallon, NV

This book and DVD are great. I bought this set to supplement my physical therapy for my titanium elbow. The instructions on form and technique from Pavel is like having Pavel for your own personal trainer. He is awesome with his presentation on kettle bells. If you want to learn kettle bells, this book and DVD are what you want to start with, period.

10/10 Props to Chad Estes RKC and Pavel

By Adam Sparks / St. Louis, MO

After training for a year with RKC Chad Estes I had some surgeries and fell out of the groove. Now I am capable to train again and had to get Enter the Kettlebell to refresh my memory on form and structure. Chad had trained me the exact way Pavel teaches, which is an incredibly effective method of training.

10/10 great-even if you are not a beginner!

By Marcia / West Texas

Worthwhile, even if you have used KBs for a while. I picked up many good tips on form. Of course, start with this if you are new to KBs.Ladies, don't avoid this just due to the 'macho' presentation. There is much good info; a good complement to the 'godess' and 'tough love' DVDs.

6/10 Bit of a disappointment

By Matt Sztajnkrycer / Rochester, MN

I have been interesting in taking up the kettlebell, and certainly the name Pavel needs no introduction. I figured, if I was going to do this, I should learn from the best. I still believe that Pavel is an excellent teacher, and probably the best source out there.
That said, the kit was disappointing. The book is full of fluff. Not only is it unecessary, it distracts from the mindset of getting down and feeling the pain. At least 50% of the book could have been cut away. I give the book a 4.
The video is much better, and shows what an excellent teacher Pavel is. It makes the book all the more of a let-down. The one criticism I have with the video is that given the emphasis placed upon proper form, Pavel's motions are so fluid it is hard to follow them on occasion to learn proper form. I would have appreciated some slow-motion shots from different angles. I give the video an 8.
Hence the average score of 6 - if you have to choose, skip the book and get the video.

8/10 Essential

By AJ / Kirkland, WA USA

Very helpful introduction for the beginner.

8/10 youtube is great

By jason / aurora, il

it was pretty good. alot of the stuff thats in the DVD i have already found for free on youtube. the book did have alot of information i had not seen before.

10/10 This Kettlebell kit is all you need....

By Gil Flores / San Mateo, CA

This is THE kit to have if you are interested in Kettlebells.

Pavel breaks it down quickly and gets to the how's and why's
in his inimatable style. I like the fact that he shows not only
what to do, but also what NOT to do.

The book provides a great historical reference of kettlebell
training and is a good cross reference for the DVD.

I will recommend this to all my friends and clients who are
interested in taking their fitness to a whole new level.

I will tell them to "Enter the Kettlebell" with Pavel.

10/10 Really fills in the blanks!

By Steve M / Syracuse, NY

This book and video really fill in the blanks for those of us who don't have easy, in-person access to an RKC. The program suggestions provide a great workout and the video demomstrations are invaluable! Thank you Pavel and thank you to the RKC's who contributed ideas!

10/10 Kettlebell Basics Simplified

By Stevie Joe / Chicago

Comrade:
Short of hiring a personal kettlebell trainer, this is the best way to learn the basics. The book and the DVD helped me to take home what my kettlebell trainer is telling me but I am too exerted to remember later. I have been using it for app. 6 mos and cannot believe the change that has occurred. I am 50+ and an ex football player who has put on the weight over the years. This is the first time I have lost weight. Easier on the knees than any other cardio, too. Pavel kicks my butt.

10/10 Top Notch Instruction !

By J Reyes / Aventura , FL

Pavel's instruction is very detailed oriented. It's hard to make a mistake when he teaches ! Great voice for teaching, keeps you alert at all times.

10/10 The Easy Way to Get Started!

By Ben / Fairfax, VA

If you want to learn how to use kettlebells properly with little fuss, then this is the way to go. Pavel's teaching style is straightforward, with a slight touch of humor, to get you well on your way. My wife thought it looked so easy, she's now using kettlebells, too!

10/10 Enter the Kettlebell Book and DVD Review

By Lonnie Brown / Albuquerque, NM USA

Unbeatable way to get started with Kettlebells. Clear, precise, and entertaining.

I've cut my workout time in half. The five mile uphill bicycle trip to work on days when I go into the office takes around two-thirds the time it used to - legs just pump like pistons as the miles melt away.

The only problem is I already need to jump to the next kb size.

10/10 Excellent

By Mike / Ramstein AB

Helps me get to the basics of KBs and KB training

8/10 Why did I never get this before

By edges / Dublin, Ireland

During 20 years training I've used many resources and tried varoius methods for various results. Only last year did I find Pavel, and what a find!! With Super Joints me and my kenpo students feel loose and warmed up for just about anything. Power to the People is awesome, brute strength without exhausting myself for other work. The naked warrior, a must read for everyone, my missus just nicked it from me.

But then there's this. I have one Kettle bell and this pack. Two weeks in I'm still on the Programme Minimum, but my performance in other aspects of training has started to rocket. Pull ups (my least favorite excersise) are easier, I'm hitting harder, my back was injured earlier in the year, but feels stronger already. All from just two exersises! Can't wait to move onto the Rite of passage!!

The section on RKC Ladders is pure gold! I read a less detailed article on ladders and improved much of my training with it, but did start to overtrain. In Enter the KB we get the full story, I'm looking forward to becoming a man amongst men.

Thanks Pavel

9/10 Great Fun - Great Challenge - Great Workout

By -Mike / Ventura, CA

The video is a big help to make sure you are doing it 100% correctly. I've seen lots of exercise devices come and go over the years (27 to be specific) but this is the only one worthy of a position with the basics - barbell, dumbell, calisthenics, jump rope, running.

10/10 Simply Superb!

By geeman67 / Pearland, Texas

I found the DVD to be very informative when it came to actually swinging the kettlebell. I am a newbie so actually doing the excercises along with Pavel makes this DVD great for beginners. The book was also good because it gave a little history and an excercise guide to start working out.

9/10 Loose hips build Dips

By Bill Lilly / Chicago,IL USA

Pavel is a great instructor. His insights into form weaknesses and how to correct them is invaluable. I am an older bodybuilder, returning to the iron with the help of RKC is just the program I need. I look forward to adding additional books, DVD's, and RED kettlebells as I progress.

10/10 Great Value

By jakeg / San Diego Ca

The book is great, but I believe that there is no substitute for seeing the proper form...Great job, Pavel!

10/10 Great product

By Scott Barrow / Douglasville, GA USA

This is an excellent product. Simple to follow. Very effective.

9/10 Simplification

By Brian F. / Gotha, FL

When a chess position is hard to understand, chess players will use a technique called "simplification". The idea is to remove all of the clutter from the board in order to determine a clear plan of action. Pavel has done this with his Enter the Kettlebell book and DVD. In ETK, the plan is simple: focus on a few drills and concentrate on developing your skill (not your numbers). I have read, re-read, watched, and re-watched the material in ETK and I pick up a new bit of information each time. Don't take my word for it. Buy it and see for yourself. The retail for the ETK series is cheaper than the retail of most kettlebell workshops and you can go over the material again and again at no extra cost.

9/10 A solid introduction to an amazing exercise

By John Hickman / Nashville, TN

Very informative and concise DVD and video, they both get to the point and don't waste your time. Quite practical, as I'd imagine Russians to be. The production values are high, it is entertaining at points, and is fun to watch.

The only thing that would make this any better would be an introductory workout on the workout that featured some warmup exercises. While the book contained a workout, having something on video to follow along with that included a warm-up, exercise, and cool down. In my opinion that is the ONLY thing that could have made this any better!

In all, I enjoyed it very much and have re-watched it many times. I especially enjoy Pavel's "Comrade..." and "...., but we'll FIX it" etc. Pavel could be over the top manly, which I thoroughly enjoyed and have injected into my own life! I really liked learning how kettlebells are made.

Thanks for a great introduction!

10/10 jt

By JT / Centreville, VA

Awesome instruction. If you are looking to get into KBing, then this is the one-stop-shop. Definitely get the combo. The book explains what to do and the DVD shows you. I took a KB class at a Kung Fu studio and it was horrible compared to the technique and lessons from Pavel. Enjoy.

9/10 Failure is impossible

By Travis / Chicago, IL

Pavel gives a very clear outline of everything a beginner needs to know when working with kettlebells. As a personal trainer my main concern is my clients safety and well being. Constant reiteration of the basics of the techniques, especially in the video, shows the focus and attention to detail necessary for safe and effective use. The simple few exercises are all you need to get started. Just like the Power to the People! plan. Great teaching tool.

9/10 Enter the KettleBell is a major winning for me, on many fronts

By Sean Armstead / Chicago Ill usa

Pavel is right on the mark with Enter the KettleBell. He was very passionate and direct regarding his focus on excellence for the RKC journey. Refining his principles such that there will be some changes in this recent installment of knowlege and "practice". I really appreciated his concise yet very thourough explaination of techniques and methods. He is very fascinating and candid I study a lot and know a lot of people that teach. He is a high favorite for me.

10/10 Worth every penny!

By Nathan England / Ozark, MO

The book and DVD pair are a must have. In short: the information in the kit is simple, concise, detailed, and gives excellent instruction that allows the user to jump right into the program with the most effective kettle bell excercises.

The DVD and book compliment each other very well. The DVD and book, if standalone, would be somewhat incomplete by themselves. The DVD is the best source of information to learn techniques using the kettle bell, by far (obviously, because it's video). The ability to watch video of Pavel perform the techniques and give instruction is the next best thing to being face to face with the instructor.

The book shows excellent diagrams of how-to (and how-not-to-do) techniques with very detailed instruction that supplement the DVD very well.

Stand-alone it would be much harder to learn with just the book, the video makes it easy. However, the book is very detailed and well written, and contains a lot of extra information not covered in the DVD, which is mainly demonstration of technique. The book is an excellent source of motivational information (which sometimes is much needed), and lays out the kettle bell program step by step. The book also contains many interesting facts regarding the history behind kettle bell lifting.

Most importantly, the book contains the detailed workout programs to follow, which is essential information for newcomers who may not know "what to do next?". This information is not on the DVD, so for this reason alone, the book is well worth it.

The only single drawback with the book is that the lifting program(s) weren't 100% intuitive the first time I read it though. For someone who isn't experienced with a weight-lifting program before, it may be slightly confusing. Sometimes lifting technique sections are mixed in with training regimen sections, which at first glance might throw off the reader.

However, there is a section in the book that explains a great workout program which tells the reader "here's what to do, and when to do it" in one of the latter chapters of the book. This no-nonsense approach helps a newcomer to the sport who may be overwhelmed by having all these new kettle bell skills, but left wondering what to do with them. It is most definitely worth every penny.

10/10 Amazing

By Nicholas Davis / Swampscott, MA USA

I have tried many other workouts, but none of them can compare to Pavel Tsatsouline. The Kettlebell truly is a way of life.

10/10 kb book and dvd

By Bruce / Victoria, b.c.

i would love to give a review on the book and dvd set but unfortunately cannot as i have not received my order yet.

6/10 Not exactly what I was expecting

By Justin / Canton, GA USA

I am a newbie to kettlebell training and was expecting a comprehensive book on all the different exercises. I was a little disappointed that the book only covered the most basic lifts in swings, get ups, clean and presses, and snatches. Overall, the book was very good at teaching the fundamentals of those exercises, but I didn't feel there was enough content. Also, for the exercise routines it states to have 2 variety days, but the only information on the variety exercises are in the additional .pdf files.

The dvd was also very good at teaching the mechanics and technique of the exercises above, and Pavel adds his sense of humor.

Not saying that either product was bad, just not a comprehensive kettlebell guide like I was expecting.

9/10 Kettlebell kit review

By Dan Peven / Berkeley, CA

This is an excellent set of instruction materials. The book is well thought out and not too redundant. The DVD compliments the instructions in the book with graphic illustrations of how, and how not, to do the drills. Pavel is his usual humorous self, and most importantly, there is no pandering drivel. You either take this as it comes, or go home.

10/10 This program is worth every bit of the small investment and much more!!!!!!!!!
