These DVDs are excellent. For a long time I have been interested in and wanted to know more about the Five Animal Frolics. John du Cane is an excellent teacher with his calm, relaxed voice, his explanations of the movements, the health benefits and the imagery behind them all.
I thought the repetitions would become monotonous, but they don't as they are necessary to get the proper knowledge of and feeling for the movements. I originally bought the Five Animal Frolics Book but was disappointed as there was not enough information. These DVDs are very clear and the book can be used in conjunction with them. I recommend this set to anyone interested in Qigong.
The fourth DVD, Bliss, is a good grounding for qigong.

The clarity of John Du Cane's presentation is perhaps the greatest feature of the Animal Frolic Qigong program. Easy to understand from the first playing, yet nontheless highly effective. I was doubtful at first, but the qigong practice is clearly refreshing and revitalizing. Very glad I purchased it.

For the price I think they could have been put together much better - each segment should have an entire form to follow. For over $100 there should have been much more. The movements are delightful but I find that I get much more from any discipline if I can connect the movements without extensive thought - which defeats the purpose to me. Also, working as a mirror image is more helpful. If Mr. Du Cane cares to put the movements into forms, it would be most welcome - as it is, the DVDs are sadly lacking and certainly not worth the money.
