Rated 10 out of 10 Pleased with Jose's depth and detail Jose Figueroa goes into great depth and detail into each silk reeling cycle. Each exercise is broken down into 4 and sometimes 5 stages and the stages build up to the final execution of the silk reeling exercise very nicely. Overall Jose comes over as a very experienced and competent teacher, who is not only able to convey the difficult concepts of chen style tai chi in great depth, but also appears to want you to know every minute detail, because it might help you in your practise. Which is refreshing. I would say that this series is invaluable to every chen style tai chi student. Although you should still attend weekly classes with your own teacher. My only criticism, is that the different phases are demonstrated in full and from all different angles before the exercise is explained by Jose. At first this made it a little hard for me to follow, but seeing as it takes multiple viewing of the demonstrations and explanations to fully "get" the exercises, in the end it is not a problem. However if I was the producer I would demonstrate the phase first from the front angle only, then have Jose give his teaching, then have the demonstration from all angles. crazy88 Manchester, UK

The use of multiple angles (front, back, etc.) allows the viewer to see even the most minute details. The production quality of the video is clean, crisp and free of any distractions. Shih-Fu Figueroa speaks to you as though he is actually standing in the room with you. His high level of skill is evident not only from watching his movement but also from listening to the content of the thorough instruction he gives. You can actually learn the foundation of Chen Tai Chi from these DVDs. I strongly recommend these DVDs to anyone seeking to learn the intricacies of Tai Chi.
