To the best of our knowledge, Jeff Martone is the only person outside Eastern Europe who practices the lost art of Kettlebell Juggling. Martone is a former senior instructor of the Agent Candidate Physical Training Program for the nuclear security teams of the US Department of Energy. One of the first Americans to be certified as kettlebell instructors, Jeff successfully implemented kettlebells into the program. Then he started developing the H2H KB drills featured on this DVD.

When Martone took the position of the Physical Training and Combative Coordinator at the Direct Action Resource Center, the largest urban warfare training center in the US, Jeff started teaching the H2H kettlebell techniques to various federal, state, and local law enforcement agencies. They were an instant hit among the people who rely on their conditioning for their lives, which has prompted the production of this DVD.

High Pull Series

  • 2 Hand HP
  • 2 Hand HP, catch/throw ball/catch handle
  • 2 Hand HP, catch/throw ball/flip/catch handle
  • 2 Hand HP, Center, Right Left
  • 2 hand HP, to one side/ catch ball with one hand
  • 1 hand HP
  • 1 hand Hp, begin w/2 practice pulls. Catch ball on 3rd pull @ clean height, drop and catch w/same hand or alternate catching hands
  • 1 hand HP, Hot potato drill 1-2 then switch…Repeat
  • 1 hand HP, catch ball @ snatch height. Begin with 2 practice pulls (find the groove) then Xplode.
  • Alternating catching w/other hand

New Spins on the Basics

Tapping Drills

  • Full Rotation - 1 hand drills during rotation
  • Reg. rotation, single tap (i.e. petting the bell)
  • Reg. rotation double tap
  • 1/2 Rotation, two-hand index palm
  • Reg. Rotation, same hand index palm
  • Reg. Rotation, same opposite hand index palm
  • 2 taps, 1st stops the momentum, 2nd changes direction

Around the Body Pass

  • Uppercut flip, catch w/other hand (O.S.) going in same direction
  • To switch directions, when it comes to throwing hand-pass between legs and flip with other hand.
  • Uppercut Drill, - between legs pass, catch with same hand - flow to fig.8
  • HP flip & catch w/ same hand - drop catch w/same hand, flow to fig. 8

Hot Potato drill

Squat

Cossack

  • Hot potato drill from rack position (using handles not ball)
  • Ball catch to BU flip (index edge of flat in palm)
  • Bu to Bu catching (push up and push handle to side to keep ball upright)

Tactical Lunge a.k.a. Buns of Steel

  • Alternate explosive lunge, passing outside to inside
  • Circle passes around body and in between legs when lunging (fig. 8)
  • Add Flip
  • Buns of steel lunge with flip (pass inside to outside leg/flip/catch,
  • Buns of Steel lunge with flip/catch ball in other hand at shoulder level

Catch It If You Can

  • Reverse Rotation (Thumb push)

  • 1 Hand HP 1/2 rotation catch handle

Pendulum Series - front of body

  • Palm Up/Palm down variations
  • Pendulum exchange from top of snatch (front of body)
  • starting from top holding ball
  • starting from Bu snatch (leave air space between exchange)
  • Round the world twice
  • Round world twice/switch hip position & hands maintaining same dir.

Around the back/over the shoulder toss Series

  • from 1 arm swing
  • from around body pass
  • Whirl Wind - around body/fig 8
  • Whirl Wind w/ uppercut flip
  • catch ball w/other hand- hot potato pass/repeat
  • catch w/other hand, swing between legs flip & catch palms up to the outside - around back - repeat (Non fig. 8)
  • swing between legs, flip catch ball (same hand), outside drop catch w/ same hand, around back throw - repeat

HP Reverse Lunge - Finishing Easy

  • Clean (catch ball) Leg position reversed from split snatch, protects knee.
