It was a pleasure working with Derek during my orientation. He took tome to assess my physical fitness and determine where my strengths and weaknesses were. He made sure to show proper form and then reinforce it with repetition. I got the feeling that he really wanted me to understand the process for all of the techniques that I was learning and I really appreciated that. He always has maintained a positive attitude and gives constructive criticism without you feeling like you have taken a personal blow to your ego and that can be tricky for some trainers. I would definitely recommend Derek to anyone interested in becoming a stronger person physically and mentally (you may find that you can do things that you never thought you could).

Just started working out in February with Dereks 0530 class. A great start to the day. His workouts are challenging. He makes sure all in his class use proper technique and form. Also informative about the right nutrition to build muscle and to reach my weight goal. Great instructor with lots of patience for us who need more help. I finally know what a kettlebell can do for me. Thanks.

Before joining Derek's Kettlebell gym, I was exercising on treadmills and elipticals a minimum of 7 hours per week, and still not getting any results. What I have learned with Derek's exercises is that all I needed was 1 hour, 3 days a week, and I would get even more results. Derek is extremely dedicaed to his clients, and is constantly working with everyone on getting their form right. I have been very pleased with Derek and always anticipating what he will have in store for us each week.

Derek is a wonderful trainer. Very focused on correct form, which has kept me from any injuries. I have been working out with various trainers for years, Derek's workout is an all over body workout. Additionally, Derek has taught me the important of proper stretching. Not only has my strength increased in just a few short months, but my flexibility has improved greatly as well. I highly recommend Derek as a trainer and look forward to continuing my fitness journey at Ballistic Fitness.

I was first introduced to Derek and kettle bells last winter when he came to our fire station for some free intro lessons. I loved the workout, and was looking forward to more. I joined Ballistic Fitness in January of 2011, and have been hooked. I am in the best shape I have ever been in. Derek is an awesome teacher. His encouragement has helped me stick with it, and his advice is helping me get the best out of my workouts. He definitely deserves the 10 out of 10.

Derek is a terrific RKC instructor. His knowledge of RKC and the human body are remarkable and his care and concern for each of us during RKC training is tremendous. He is constantly changing and evolving our workouts as we progress. It's never the same and always fun and challenging. Derek takes the time to make sure we are all working at an appopriate level and within our physical capacity so that we can avoid injury - that's priceless! The results speak for themselves - all of us have lost both pound and inches and are stronger, healthier people because of RKC and Derek's training. I highly recommend RKC for anyone that is looking for something new and different to try - it's fun, challenging, and the results are amazing!

I picked up my first kettlebell over 3 years ago at my first session with Derek. I left with sore muscles and a new found love of all things kettlebell. Derek listened, encouraged, motivated and inspired me to continue to push myself in my training. In spite of a serious back injury years previous, his insistence on proper form and technique prevented me from further injury even as I progressed to heavier weights. His understanding of functional movement is extensive and his years of experience make him a highly sought-after and well-rounded trainer. I would challenge you to find a trainer with more passion for what he does. Derek is an outstanding instructor and is fully capable of teaching a class mixed with experienced weight lifters and complete beginners. I have been interested in kettlebell training for some time, but was nervous about training without proper instruction. Derek worked with me until my form was perfect, which is something you can't get from a book or a DVD.

I hate to score anyone a 10 out of 10 for anything, because I think there is always room for improvement. But in this case, I have to let a 10 fly. Derek has a great approach to teaching people who know absolutely nothing about kettlebells. His instructional period at the beginning of the class seemed to answer all of my questions before I asked them and before we began swinging weights. I felt comfortable enough with the concept that I could jump in without fear of injury. He seems to have a deep understanding of anatomy and solid answers to questions about technique, approach and figuring out how to make the switch from getting a pump to gaining strength. Thanks Derek.

I've been working out at the same gym as Derek for a while, now. I'd seen his clients using the kettlebell, and it looked like something I wanted to try. I'd attempted several times to get into a KB Basics I class, but my schedule never worked out. Despite that, Derek was always helpful and friendly in offering advice for my workout. Today I finally got to do the KB class, and I'm hooked.

The thing I value most about Derek is that he's passionate about fitness. It's obvious that he enjoys seeing other people improve through his advice and instruction. He's always encouraging but challenging in his instruction. He's extremely knowledgeable and gives excellent explanations on the reason for proper technique and what exactly is happening in the body while exercising. He also understand that different people have different goals with their fitness, and he's great at tweaking workouts to help you accomplish your goals.

I'll probably be taking a more advanced class at some point in the future, and I can't wait to add the KB routines into my workout.

Thanks to Derek my whole outlook on fitness has changed.

I started working with Derek nearly 6 months ago and have lost 70 lbs. He has focused workouts to meet my fitness goals and needs. He has continually pushed me to the next phase and my overall health has improved as a result.

I started using kettle bells with Derek two months ago and I can already notice improvements to my endurance and mobility, not to mention strength gains.

If you are serious about getting results, Derek is the trainer to choose!

I took a 3-hour beginner kettle bell class from Derek two weeks ago. I was cautious, since I have a weak disc in my lower back. My doctor gave me permission to take the class, but was concerned about my being taught proper technique. That's what impressed me about Derek Miller -- how thorough and methodical he was in teaching us, step by step, how to use good form and protect ourselves. I am 44, and have become a little bored after years of weight training. I am excited about this new form of exercise and appreciate the solid foundation.

I also took the Kettle Bell I class this past weekend and it was great! Derek took the time to explain the philosophy behind Kettle Bell training and the required focus involved in performing the rigors of the exercises. He worked with each class member one-on-one to verify we were using correct form along with the required core functions. The instruction was top notch and the encouragement we received during the training made us all try harder.
Thanks Derek for a great class! I look forward to the next class! Kettle Bells will become a vital part of my workout program!

Derek is an all around solid guy as well as a trainer. He's willing to share information and physically show you how to apply it to your workouts. After seeing people using the kettlebell weights in the gym, I knew I had to take Derek's class. Not only did he teach the exercises, but also put a lot of focus on the correct breathing, form and concentration to optimize the workout. I now have a workout routine I enjoy! I have taken Derek's level 1 and level 2 class and look forward to incorporate all I have learned into my exercise routine. I would also like to point out Derek's commitment to teaching the kettleball exercises. I saw members training in the gym with the kettlebells and they appeared to be getting a hard workout, so when I saw Derek was having a training class, I signed up. I learned how to breathe, how to compress the body together to be more powerful, and how to use the kettlebell as safely and effectively as possible... and it was fun and made me feel very strong. It's nice to have a new, fresh exercise to look forward to perfecting, I think this is one I will use forever. Derek has a knack for being able to see exactly what it is that each individual needs tweaked..and helping them correct it to the benefit and appreciation of the entire class. Derek is a wonderful teacher! I am eager to get back to the kettlebell workouts already and I only left class 3 hours ago!

Training in the same gym as Derek for the past couple of years, I have seen many of his clients physically tranformed by his individualized training programs. In fact, that is what motivated me to try the Kettlebell class. I appreciate his patience and commitment to helping his students achieve their specific goals. I have been out of the workout loop for several years now. I recently started training again with free weights. I took Derek's beginner class a couple weeks ago and feel that Kettlebell training is going to streamline what I need to do.

Derek had a large class, but did an excellant job of maintaining individual attention with each student. He is a stickler for form, which I know is always the key to maximizing what is gotten out of a workout.

I have a lot of practice ahead of me, but it is clear that it will be well worth it.

Derek has such great consistent power and form. He teaches by leading as an example, but also works well with people individually. In our class, Derek worked with people who are "expert" traditional weight-lifters to people who seemed like they hadn't worked out in months.

I see Derek giving training sessions in our gym a lot, and the one word I have for him is focus. He is more focused on the person and making sure that they improve and achieve results than any trainer I have seen.

I'm thrilled that i chose to work with Derek! I'm a middle-aged, mother/grandmother with old issues stored in my body and post menopausal changes occuring regularly. Derek quickly saw the weaknesses, understood the issues and addressed it with his expertise in kettle bell training as well as his understanding of kinesiology and the flow of energy in and out of our bodies.
I've only been training with Derek for about 2 months, but can see big results not just in the muscular system but more psysical strength and my overall (especially)my mental well being.

I just attended the basic Kettlebell class put on by Derek this last weekend. I would definitely recommend this class to anyone seeking a fitness routine or just looking for something new and challenging regardless of age or fitness ability.

I compete in MMA and do a lot of caveman style workouts along with working with traditional weights. I have always wanted to learn how to properly use a kettlebell to add to my workout regimen. Derek helped me with this and also set up a workout routine that will explode a persons, strength, endurance, and striking ability.

My husband and I started working out with Derek about 5 months ago. Initally I was very skeptical of kettlebells,however after our first workouts my husband and I were both sold on them! We have both seen great gains in strength and confidence.

Before training with Derek I was unsure of my own strength. But with his workouts and tips I am becoming more and more confident and can see my body changing weekly!! I have seen growth in the amount of weight I lift as well as endurance.

The best thing about Derek is how he motivates me to push even harder, he is always cheering me on and congratulating me in my accomplishments. He truly wants to see me succeed! I would recommend Derek as a trainer to anybody interested in kettle bells or general strength training.

Derek has overhauled my workout routine. I have weight trained about three years now and used all the conventional methods. I was getting tired of the same old, when I ran across Derek. He told me about the kettlebells, so I listened, and the rest is history. I have now been working out with kettlebells 4 months. I am stronger, I have greater endurance, and I wish I would have found them years ago. Derek is the best trainer I have ever used. I have trained in martial arts for 15 years prior to weight training, and he, by far, is the best I have seen. Derek takes pride in his work, is a nice guy, and is willing to help out when he can. I can only imagine where I will be 4 more months from now, as I have made huge gains. I will never go back. Thanks Derek!

I started working out with Derek about 5 months ago. From the very first time we met, I could tell a difference in my body. Derek introduced me to kettlebells - something that I had never heard of before and certainly never worked out with. I've done step aerobics, spinning classes and body pump which were all decent exercise programs but I wanted to step it up. The kettlebells are amazing and have worked faster than normal weight training. Derek is awesome - my workouts with him are hard but very fun. He's great about mixing things up so that I never get bored with my workouts. In fact, we've never done the same workout twice. In just 5 short months I am stronger more healthy and feel really good about my fitness level - I owe all of that to Derek!!
