It was a pleasure working with Derek during my orientation. He took tome to assess my physical fitness and determine where my strengths and weaknesses were. He made sure to show proper form and then reinforce it with repetition. I got the feeling that he really wanted me to understand the process for all of the techniques that I was learning and I really appreciated that. He always has maintained a positive attitude and gives constructive criticism without you feeling like you have taken a personal blow to your ego and that can be tricky for some trainers. I would definitely recommend Derek to anyone interested in becoming a stronger person physically and mentally (you may find that you can do things that you never thought you could).

Just started working out in February with Dereks 0530 class. A great start to the day. His workouts are challenging. He makes sure all in his class use proper technique and form. Also informative about the right nutrition to build muscle and to reach my weight goal. Great instructor with lots of patience for us who need more help. I finally know what a kettlebell can do for me. Thanks.

I just started 3 weeks ago with Derek and actually in just 3 weeks can feel the difference in such a short period. Derek has several different routines that keeps you wanting to come back for more! Thanks, looking forward to the next workout and the feeling I have after I have finished!

Before joining Derek's Kettlebell gym, I was exercising on treadmills and elipticals a minimum of 7 hours per week, and still not getting any results. What I have learned with Derek's exercises is that all I needed was 1 hour, 3 days a week, and I would get even more results. Derek is extremely dedicaed to his clients, and is constantly working with everyone on getting their form right. I have been very pleased with Derek and always anticipating what he will have in store for us each week.

Derek is a wonderful trainer. Very focused on correct form, which has kept me from any injuries. I have been working out with various trainers for years, Derek's workout is an all over body workout. Additionally, Derek has taught me the important of proper stretching. Not only has my strength increased in just a few short months, but my flexibility has improved greatly as well. I highly recommend Derek as a trainer and look forward to continuing my fitness journey at Ballistic Fitness.

I was first introduced to Derek and kettle bells last winter when he came to our fire station for some free intro lessons. I loved the workout, and was looking forward to more. I joined Ballistic Fitness in January of 2011, and have been hooked. I am in the best shape I have ever been in. Derek is an awesome teacher. His encouragement has helped me stick with it, and his advice is helping me get the best out of my workouts. He definitely deserves the 10 out of 10.

Derek is a terrific RKC instructor. His knowledge of RKC and the human body are remarkable and his care and concern for each of us during RKC training is tremendous. He is constantly changing and evolving our workouts as we progress. It's never the same and always fun and challenging. Derek takes the time to make sure we are all working at an appopriate level and within our physical capacity so that we can avoid injury - that's priceless! The results speak for themselves - all of us have lost both pound and inches and are stronger, healthier people because of RKC and Derek's training. I highly recommend RKC for anyone that is looking for something new and different to try - it's fun, challenging, and the results are amazing!

I picked up my first kettlebell over 3 years ago at my first session with Derek. I left with sore muscles and a new found love of all things kettlebell. Derek listened, encouraged, motivated and inspired me to continue to push myself in my training. In spite of a serious back injury years previous, his insistence on proper form and technique prevented me from further injury even as I progressed to heavier weights. His understanding of functional movement is extensive and his years of experience make him a highly sought-after and well-rounded trainer. I would challenge you to find a trainer with more passion for what he does. It was that passion that inspired me to become an RKC trainer and I am now privileged to work with him at his newly opened gym. I owe you my career, Derek. I am forever indebted to you... so much so that the words Thank You sound unspeakably lame.
